I felt a bit of an "ebgames" vibe -- before they went TOO commercialized! They carry a lot of comics (that are still in EXCELLENT condition), figurines, controllers, and even newer games as well (like ps4/Switch/etc). We were greeted immediately after walking in and provided a "break down" of where to find everything. The fact that they have old school arcades (which they also allow you to play unlimited for free -- and still have tournaments on) means they are okay with me! Lol! Def glad we found this place! Granted, we only purchased 3 ps2 games, but we still have a ps1, ps2, ps3, N64, and NES so we will DEF be back!

Nothing that made me stop shopping there or write a negative review at the time. However, I went in there the other day to look around, and I ended up spotting a Virtual Boy for $400, which is pretty expensive. But I recently received $400 for my birthday, so I figured what the heck and bit the bullet and purchased the system, as it was the only Nintendo system I currently didn't own at the time. The employee even let me briefly try it out, and it seemed to work well, so I bought it. After I got home, I set it up in order to fully test and try it out. However, while testing it, I realized that the right lens only shows a distorted image. However, this is only noticeable when you have your left eye closed. I tried to call the store immediately, but unfortunately they had already closed for the day. So the next day, I called at work and explained the problem with the console that they had sold me. The woman on the phone sounded very understanding and told me to bring it back, as they had a worker there who does repairs. So after work, I drove home, packed up the Virtual Boy, and headed back to the store. I even called and told them that I was on the way, and I was told, "Okay, we'll look at it when you come in." When I arrived, the repair guy plugged the console in and said, "Yeah, I see it's not working. However, there's nothing I can do." Then he called the employee that had sold me the console the previous day, and I explained the situation for a fourth time while the "Repair" guy called the owner. The employee who sold me the unit initially offered me to trade it back into the store, as they would not let me return the unit. I told him no because "I WOULD JUST BE GIVING THEM FREE MONEY AT THAT POINT" The "Repair" guy returned and told me that I have to get it repaired somewhere else, as he can only do basic repairs like battery swaps on cartridges. THAT WOULVE BEEN GREAT TO KNOW THE 2 TIMES I CALLED BEFORE I HEADED TO THE STORE. Anyway, the employee that sold me the unit also got on the phone with the owner and explained the situation. After he was done talking to his boss, he told me, "They can't give me a refund, not even a partial refund, and I couldn't trade it in because it's damaged." I then again explained that they SOLD ME THE UNIT DEFECTIVE BUT YOU CAN ONLY NOTICE IT WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR LEFT EYE. They both just kept saying that they "tested it" with all the employees and none of them noticed any issues with the unit. Then the guy who sold me the broken unit low-key started blaming me for the damage, saying that "I could have damaged it on the way home yesterday, as the console is very fragile." And I'm just standing there thinking to myself, "No way he genuinely said something so RETARDED. He gotta be rage baiting. If a simple car ride is enough to damage the unit, would it not make sense that the person that drove to the store to originally trade the unit in to them damaged it? Therefore, it was already damaged before I purchased it." He then told me "that there's not much they could do," which is pretty much the nice way of saying "piss off." I then asked, "Since you can't do much, what can you do?" and he replied by saying, "What do you want?" I asked if I could get a discount on the item or a partial refund, as $400 is a lot of money to pay for a defective item. He told me "no," so I asked again, "What can you do then?" and he replied with "pretty much nothing." The employee's rage bait is starting to work and is genuinely pissing me off at this point, so I replied, "Why would you say there's not much you can do if you can't do nothing at all?" WHY EVEN TELL ME TO BRING THE UNIT BACK IN IF YOU CAN LITERALLY DO NOTHING DESPITE BEING INFORMED OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT TWICE BEFORE I EVEN GOT THERE. In the end the "Repair" guy clearly wanted me gone so he begrudgingly filled out a punch card and handed it to me 15% off my next purchase pretty much saying next time you come in you can pay less to get scammed

AWESOME SERVICE !!…read more Oh and did I mention, Awesome Selection? The wife and I recently located here from the Northern part of the US. The day we arrived, the first thing I did was research local record shops and found 2 that were right on top of my list to visit, and this, my friends, is one of them. James and Keith are the bomb ! From the very first day I entered, they greeted and treated me like a customer, not a visitor. They attended to my needs and ensured that I was satisfied with my purchase, after my purchase, we stood around and talked about Music, sports and everything else that came up. it has been a while since I had this experience and I want to thank them both for making me feel right at home. These guys even held a new released CD for me, not even knowing if I would even come back in to buy it or not, but they did and for this, I thank them ever so very much. If your ever in the St. Pete area, or relocated from elsewhere, I highly advise you to stop in and take a peek at their inventory. Believe me, you wont regret it.

Based on previous posted pictures, inventory is drastically reduced. I was able to browse through and find two gems and a flyer. Overpriced based on used vinyl condition. Found a rare Rory Gallagher double live 1974 album. Checked the vinyl discs and they appeared barely playable, for about $30 I put it back. Was not worth the 40 minute ride and 10 minutes to figure out it wasnt a storefront, rather a booth. I wont be back.

I LOVE vinyl records and host several record store crawls all over Metro Atlanta and Chattanooga. I…read moreknow all of the good spots and Atlanta is RICH with quality if not ICONIC record stores. RetroSound Records is, hands down, one of the best record stores in Atlanta. Not because it's the biggest, but because of the staff and because I ALWAYS find something I love here. The owner Ken and his associate Josh are some of the best in the biz. Ken has turned me on to some fantastic records I may have never thought of and he reaches out when something comes in that he knows I'd like. We have similar taste in music (so...excellent taste in music) If he suggests it, I usually buy it. Josh is incredibly knowledgeable and gives the level of service that keeps me coming back. RetroSound Records has a great selection. Pro tip: Always start out with what's on the front counter. Never fails. Then hit the bins on the end of the front counter. Those sections never fail me. They have an EXCELLENT jazz section and right in the middle of the shop are many great records that are half price. THAT section never fails me either. It's my favorite. Ken has a great selection in general and he will spin anything you ask him to (unsealed of course). If you are into vinyl, always buy local! We need to keep shops like this open. Keep an eye out for their Mid Night Madness Events. You won't find Record Store Day here, and that's ok with me!! Mid Night Madness is much more fun!! Get to this shop, and ask for Ken and Josh. They are some of my favorite people in this business and you will be incredibly happy with what you find here.
