I've played this bass on many gigs and it's fine; nice neck, good sounding pickups (hey, pickup technology is STILL wire wrapped around magnets) Sure is nice to not have to babysit a vintage P-bass at gigs these days! I keep this one behind the seat in my car and it comes in handy.

Zach did a great job helping me get setup with a bass guitar and amp. The store is clean and laid out well and it's a much better vibe than a Guitar Center. Shop local and support these guys--prices and service are excellent. However, give the guitar lessons a pass. Lessons are in a messy store room in the back with distractions galore. There is no voice mail. Service phone often rings for 20 rings (gave up after then) and never is answered. The people in the store know about these problems, but the corporate office does nothing to fix it. The corporate call center went so far as to tell me they couldn't control the hours on Google. What? Again, less than stellar workers. Also, personnel is not properly trained. ie: I was told I could get a flute repair done in a week, then I found out it was a month...after I flew to the USA with my flute from another country. So, I bought a new flute. I asked the service department to check it over completely as I did not live in the USA and wanted to make sure there were no issues. Note this was a rather expensive silver flute. They gave it to me saying it was perfect. Well, it wasn't! The interior was filthy...used. The f# key leaks. I am flying back to the USA. It took me 12 phone calls including 2 useless calls to the call center before I could speak to someone. I was promised a call back from the call center in 40 minutes. Never called. Bottom line is, good selection, knowledgeable sales people, lousy service and not the brightest in the call center. I think some of the staff is good at some of the stores, but really, they need training.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Alison and Dane at Whipkey's Music. I…read morerented a flute from them as an adult beginner and took some lessons by FaceTime. Alison was patient and positive; she's a gifted teacher with an encouraging manner. So after a few months I decided I wanted to stick with the flute, in great part because my cat likes to listen. It's all about the cats, right? So I wanted a nicer flute of my own. Alison had my try many different brands and types of flutes, listening with her experience to zero in on the flute that is just right for me. The process extended over 3 visits and a couple of months. Alison is a zero-pressure salesperson, more of a spirit guide through the world of flute. This is less like a retail experience and more like having a master tailor help to make a perfect suit. Today is New Flute Day. I cannot wait to get home and see if the kitty loves it too! Thank you Alison!
