O could tell that this store is relatively new here on the shopping plaza, and I was curious. The second that I saw the popcorn in their displays kind of got my sweet tooth for popcorn. Really the last time that I had popcorn was earlier this year in Mexico City. There are vendors that sell bags of popcorn for like 10 pesos $.50 and I purchased these a couple of times. After I saw real popcorn again, I could not resost to buyinh some. The aweome employee offered me a couple of ssamples to try out. They give out small samples in these small tin cups and I tried Snores and Brownie flavored popcorn. I ended up getting the small movie flavored popcorn in a bag and it was all of the popcorn flavor that I had expected. I would recommend getting at least the medium sized popcorn of whatever flavor you have in mind.

We love the mission that Jake's supports and the staff is extremely helpful. It is a little on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for the area and the money goes to a good cause. My son really loves the Snickers popcorn and they even have some ice cream from their ice cream shop there! Parking is easy and we highly recommend Jake's!

With multiple flavor options for the tins. If you keep your tin and bring it back, they'll refill at a discount which is a boon. The flavors are PHENOMENAL. The truffle, the salted caramel bourbon and the white cheddar made me so happy. But the dill pickle was soooo tasty too. I'll say any flavor of popcorn you're looking for, and many you've never thought of (like banana pudding) they have! These make AWESOME gifts for the popcorn lovers in your life and they have a loyalty/rewards program! Check them out!!!!

The young man working there was friendly and patient, allowing me to sample several options before making my decision. I tried flavors like pizza, steak, and cheeseburger, and surprisingly, they actually tasted like what they claimed to be. The flavor profiles were creative and authentic. I didn't stop at the savory options. I also sampled some sweet flavors and ended up taking home the banana pudding popcorn along with the cheeseburger flavor. Both were delicious and definitely different from your average movie theater popcorn. I ended up giving my cheeseburger popcorn away, and enjoyed my banana pudding flavor. I also love supporting Black-owned businesses, especially when they're bringing something unique to the area. Now for the downsides. The popcorn is a bit pricey, but to be fair, this is gourmet popcorn, not a $5 tin from the grocery store. My bigger concern was the appearance of the space. The decor felt sparse, and the back area looked a little unkempt, which took away from the overall experience. The location is also a bit unexpected, tucked into a residential apartment complex area. That said, there are other businesses nearby, and it feels like one of those up-and-coming spots that's still finding its footing. Overall, if you're looking for creative popcorn flavors and want to support a local Black-owned business, it's worth stopping by. Just don't expect a polished storefront experience--at least not yet.

If you arrive on a day when the line isn't 10-15 deep consider that an anomoly. This popcorn stand attracted customers in SW from virtually all of the government buildings and foot traffic in the vicinity. All of the popcorn is made-to-order, however there are pre-made bags of popcorn readily available for purchase at a discount price. The reason for the long lines is because the popcorn is made to order, the popcorn is sold in large, multiple-serving bags, and the stand is a one-man show. Mike is never not moving in the stand, as he always seems to be preparing fresh popcorn. His customer service is generally good and sometimes he will engage you in light conversation of you engage him. However there are days when he is relatively quiet. On those days I don't take it personal or interpret it as a sign of disrespect, rather, I'm reminded he is a one-man show filling non-stop orders of popcorn. I like that you can customize your popcorn flavor. Some of the flavors available to order are traditional cheddar, white cheddar, jalapeño, butter, parmesan garlic, chive, pepper pop, and sour cream and chives. Overall a great popcorn stand experience and I will continue to patronize.

LOL...I didn't like the white cheddar, but I notoriously don't like flavored popcorn. I was able to get a few bags from my mother-in-law which was awesome right before Christmas.

We got a blueberry pop tart, and some raspberry scones, along with a chocolate covered vanilla cupcake. Yummy! The only problem is that Henry's is not just a dessert bakery - the store may appear tiny on the outside, but it's huge on the inside. In addition to the bakery, they got all kinds of candy and other goodies for sale. I gotta stop back in another day and try all the other good stuff inside. Plus, you can tell from the Rick Astley-inspired sign outside, Henry's has a great sense of humor. This is exactly what small business brings to the neighborhood. Everyone was very polite and/or enthusiastic to help us, and it was pretty packed even though it was very cold outside. The costs of everything were definitely a bit overpriced, but what else can one expect from a place as such in DC? The two of us got the BBQ ribs with a side of mac n' cheese, and an order of the crab cake sandwich alongside some skinny fries. The ribs were too dry and oversalted, and came with a similarly-dry cube of cornbread and a small cup of pickle slices atop a small scoop of coleslaw, of which none were finished due to the disappointment in taste and texture. The mac n' cheese was a bit gritty, and could definitely use more cheese and/or cheese sauce, but was decent. The crab cake sandwich was fantastic in both texture and taste, and was gobbled up within a minute, and the fries were also picked clean, being very freshly made with just the right amount of frying time. Will definitely come back to try more options, especially the very highly recommended donuts!
