I didn't know what to expect during the first two PT rounds and I felt they were ok. This time, I'm working with two physical therapists and they're both absolutely great. I started PT on the fourth day after my right knee total replacement surgery. They paid attention to my condition and progress. They've been gently and steadily increasing the level. I feel challenged but not painful. I'm recovering much faster and stronger than the previous times. The facility is also nice; spacious and well equipped. Thank you, K & N.

The therapists meet him at his school during regular school hours, which saves us a lot of hassle and time. Our son loves seeing his therapists. He has had such a positive experience. TERRIBLE BILLING PRACTICES!!!!…read more One of the first bills I received was shockingly high (It was the first bill we received after 7-8 months of services). I went through the line items and found that they billed me for a service that my son was not receiving. I reached out to the billing department and they acknowledged that there was a billing error and corrected the bill. We switched providers because they were unable to provide services at my son's school. Several months after discontinuing services we received a bill from them for several random dates of service from the past. We expressed our frustration with the delayed bill in September and thought that our account was settled then. To our astonishment, we just received another bill for services rendered 11 MONTHS AGO! My household receives bills from dozens of different providers. These bills arrive within ~30 days of services rendered with the only exception being Raleigh Therapy Services. When billing is delayed by so long it makes it difficult for personal accounting and creates stress and anxiety because amongst several recent medical bills, it is an unexpected expense. I had to spend the entire day yesterday combing through records from RTS and my insurance company to try to understand why I was receiving a claim 11 months after services were rendered and to try to understand if I would be receiving any future bills (which there are still 2 more claims that haven't been processed). I have worked as a health care provider billing insurance for medical services as well as my current position at a medical software billing company. I understand that insurance issues can be very frustrating and sometimes take several phone calls to resolve. The provider we switched to, K&M Therapeutics, billed for the same service (plus a new one) and we received bills monthly starting 30 days from service and they were billing the same insurance companies. It seems like they need to hire an adjudication claims specialist to have someone dedicated to trouble shooting these issues so that they can be resolved in a timely manner. My son really liked the therapists at RTS..... this is just a billing inefficiency issue leading to a poor customer experience. I believe it can be fixed if they want to put the effort into trying to.

I had a bad experience from the second I walk in the door. To start the receptionist was very rude, the waiting room was overcrowded with barely enough room to sit and then I had to wait 40min after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. From there the first lady that brought me back to the room was kind and understood my frustration and explained they were nearly double booked for every appointment that day which is understandable. Once I saw the doctor he walked in the room and did not even introduce himself, he immediately just started reading my referral. From there he grabbed his otoscope and checked my ears, then sat in front of me without saying a word and stuck a nasal speculum in my nose, propped it open and blew gas in my nose with ZERO warning or explanation of what he was doing. He didn't greet me, didn't explain he was about to begin the inspection, didn't walk me through what he was doing and explain that it may be uncomfortable and smell/taste odd, he didn't say a word and immediately went into it. Secondly, when it came time to scope my nasal cavity he did the same exact thing, grabbed his tools and didn't explain a thing to me. He asked me for consent for the scope using the medical terms (I'm assuming for billing purposes) but never explained what he was about to do. I knew so little that I was opening my mouth because I thought he was going to scope my throat, it wasn't until he was 1 inch from my nose that he goes "oh no its going in your nose" then 1 second later started snaking the scope up my nasal cavity. I was so ill-informed I thought he was going in my mouth.. Then as I was wincing from being uncomfortable, rather than comforting me he proceeded to tell me that "it isn't that bad." The entirety of my consultation I couldn't get a single word in as he over talked me every time I tried to engage with him. Tried to explain my sinuses, over talked me then later asked if I have sinus issues. Kept giving blanket statements like "tell me more" with no elaboration as to what he'd wanted me to expand on, seemed more like it was self validation to feel that he was trying to let me talk but was ingenuine and had no direction. The icing on the cake, after I left the office I received a notification that they had filled a prescription for me for an ear infection - I later found out this was an error. This seems to follow suit with their quality of care. Having family in the healthcare system and being engaged to a doctor I understand some things happen but this was exceptionally poor service. I've sat through white coat ceremonies and he took a pledge that he is not upholding as this is far from the best care he can provide. He was rude, arrogant and clearly had no desire to hear my story and understand what I was experiencing. He just wanted to read my referral and rip through it. I'm sorry but this is a private practice specialty, not the ER. If he is overwhelmed it is by his own doing. He clearly has a god complex and thinks everyone is beneath him. People like this SHOULD NOT be practicing medicine. I will not be moving forward with care here and will be canceling my CAT scan appointment. I would highly recommend another practice, a good friend of mine just referred me to Raleigh Capitol Ear Nose and Throat. I would recommend you take your business there as he has nothing but great things to say after having a successful surgery.

I Left With a Punctured Lung and Little Accountability... Please read before you seek care there…read more I underwent what I believed were routine trigger point injections, and what followed was one of the most frightening medical experiences of my life. Immediately after the procedure, I developed symptoms that ultimately led to the diagnosis of a punctured lung (pneumothorax). I required emergency treatment, hospitalization, and placement of a chest tube. I experienced significant pain, difficulty taking deep breaths, missed work, and weeks of recovery from an injury that never should have occurred during what was presented as a relatively straightforward procedure. What has been equally disappointing is how the practice handled the situation afterward. Rather than accepting meaningful responsibility or attempting to make things right, I received what amounted to an apology accompanied by statements that the procedure was performed within the standard of care. Their position was essentially that complications can happen, and therefore no further action was warranted. In my case, I was never informed that a punctured lung was a risk of the trigger point injections I received. Had I understood that risk, I would have asked additional questions before consenting. Patients deserve informed consent that is specific to the procedure actually being performed. While the practice stated they reviewed my case and even identified opportunities to improve their documentation and procedural processes, those acknowledgments have done nothing to address the physical pain, emotional distress, lost income, and disruption this complication caused. Mistakes and complications can occur in medicine. What defines a practice is how it responds when they do. I expected accountability, transparency, and a sincere effort to resolve the situation fairly. Instead, I was left feeling that protecting the practice was more important than caring for the patient who was harmed. I hope future patients never experience what I did, and I hope the practice follows through on whatever changes they identified during their internal review. My experience, however, left me deeply disappointed and without confidence that patients are truly supported when serious complications occur.

I was shocked by the cost and did not feel that the necessity of all these services or the total price was explained clearly beforehand. If you are paying out of pocket, ask for a written estimate before any treatment and ask exactly which procedures are truly necessary. I will not be returning.
