This Cap One Cafe got a refresh, so it's time for a follow up review! Today was my first time coming to the bank/cafe since they repainted the interior and started carrying Verve Coffee. It's always been a popular space, but now it's full of light, new furniture, and open space (but still a couple conference rooms). I'm a bank customer, but I much appreciate how the staff welcomes everyone to come here, whether you have an account with them or not. I was very excited to see they now carry Verve Coffee, one of my favorite roasters from California. (They formerly carried Peets.) Cap One customers can use their debit cards for 50% off, which is an even better deal now that the drinks are a bit more expensive. My 12 ounce lavender honey latte was $6 without the addition of non-dairy milk and tax. It was a tasty treat on this cold, cold day - definitely on the sweeter side. There's still an ATM near one of the front doors and another inside, with a large digital display for additional bank products. But again, they're not pushing to sell, so you can just come in for a drink and a chat, or just a relaxing place to sit. The wifi is still fast and there are plenty of outlets. It looks like they now carry some sandwiches and hot food in addition to pastries. So I'll be back!

The drinks here are amazing!! The food is meh but the people are very kind. Great location!

A nice cafe situated in the heart of Harvard Square. You can get 50% off all drinks if you pay with a capital one card. Overall, solid experience with pretty good coffee. I would stop by again!

Pros: I would come very often to get their delicious iced matcha lattes (sweetened), which are super delicious. If you have a CapitalOne card, you get 50% off drinks, so it was a very inexpensive and tasty treat whenever I passed by. I also often come by to use the ATM and the staff are always very welcoming and eager to help. Cons: The way they make their matcha lattes involves some shaking and thus aeration, so unfortunately the 50% off cost is accompanied by 50% off liquid. The two pictures are of my drink right after ordering, and then after I put it aside for 22 minutes (without taking a sip). Sad

What's in your coffee?

Capital one cafe should obviously be the Capital ONE Cafe, since ONE is supposed to be in Capitals. Silly. What a strange and bizarre concept. It's a cafe named after a freaking credit card and the credit card is vital in this case because if you use it here then you get 50% off any drink - now that is a huge freaking discount. That's like better than an employee discount bro. It's like you have to work a full shift instead of a half shift just to get that as an employee bro. And surprisingly some of the drinks are actually pretty good - for example I really like the black coffee with the condensed milk - so if you have a Capital One Card, do a Selena and Come and Get It - dirt cheap drinks and if no CC Card, it'd be overpriced but still enjoyabe at least. Now let's allow OMC to finish the review, since Allison suggested it. Cozy way to relax with a warm drink on a breezy fall Sunday morning!

It's extra nice that drinks are 50% off when using a Capital One card, and Peet's Coffee is pretty good stuff.

He lived in a nursing home, had no property and just a couple bank accounts totaling less than 3K. Another bank had no problem transferring his funds to me after I showed a death certificate and documentation that I was his next of kin. He also had $200 in a Citizen's account. $200!!!! After hours on the phone getting conflicting information about how to close his account and then spending hours in person on my days off trying to find someone at a branch who would speak to me about closing it because I wasn't the account holder, I was finally told that I had to drive one hour each way to the courthouse and pay $120 to file paperwork that I'm his executor!!! For $200!!!! It's not worth it so I just decided to leave the money where it is. Fast forward several months, Citizen's keeps sending statements to his old address that someone there then must forward to me!!!! I called again today and they won't change the address because it's not my account even though his death certificate is on file with them!!! Now I will be forced on another day off to pay the $120 just to have them stop sending statements to an incorrect address!!!!

This took place a while ago and I initially didn't bother writing a review because I couldn't find…read morethe right branch on Yelp. But I'm still pretty angry it happened, so I'm starting a new page for it. My husband and I went to TD bank to open a joint checking and savings account. When we sat down with the clerk, he directed questions only at my husband and completely ignored me. As we were finalizing our information, the clerk turned to my husband and asked him if he was sure he wanted me to have full access to the account. He told my husband that if he preferred, he could set up the account so that I would have only limited access to our money. My husband was shocked and confused, and confirmed that no, we want a *joint account* with full access for both of us. I find it unbelievable that a bank clerk would go into this line of questions RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, without including me in the conversation at all or knowing where the funds were coming from. I was both annoyed and embarrassed that a banker would make sexist assumptions about the nature of our relationship and treat me in such a disrespectful manner. It was one of the most openly discriminatory acts I have experienced. More generally, it is also highly annoying that TD does not have a banking system that allows for multiple parties to gain online access to an account with their own credentials. This means I have to use my husband's login (and know the answer to all security questions) anytime I want to cash a check online, or simply look at what's going on in the account. None of these practices are conducive to a relationship built on financial equality.

I was looking for a new bank after graduating from school, since the credit union I was using was…read moreno longer sufficient for meeting my needs. The credit union was only open on weekdays during normal work hours; TD Bank is open on weekends and stays open later than 5pm. Benefits such as credit card rewards and interest rates were competitive against other options I had considered. But what won me over was their customer service. The bank manager was very courteous and assisted me over multiple visits as I transitioned over to TD Bank. He also called to check in on me a few weeks later to make sure everything was working satisfactorily. I am very happy to have switched to TD Bank :)
