I have done business with a few different Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat dealers in the Greater Ottawa and QC region to establish who I want to be my primary dealer service center. I can tell you hands down Capital Dodge is my dealer of choice and should be yours too. It can be difficult to replicate a noise problem, but the team of Capital Dodge (Thank you Ryan Rodney & Isaiah) they really took the time to listen to my challenge and did everything they could to find and isolate what my problem was. With their savvy diagnostic equipment and great technicians, they were able to pin it down and provide the solution. I was greatful for them having the knowledge, know how and equipment to get it done... Don't lose time going else where to someone that may not know your vehicle and pay unnecessary repairs. Expensive and incompetent. Near complete brake job on my Dodge Journey - car almost did not stop pulling out of the dealership. Slammed the pedal all the way to the floor and had to use the emergency brake to get it to stop. They clearly didn't test drive it after the repair, except to park it, but still handed it over to me. Ok - mistakes can happen, technicians can be rushed by their managers, and although this should have been my last visit, I really wanted the closest Dodge dealership to be "my garage". Parking brake job on our Dodge Magnum. $1600. Picked it up - with the parking brake all the way on, you can push the car and it moves. They replaced almost everything that is part of the parking brake system on this car except the front cable, can you guess what the problem was? They "couldn't get the part", another Dodge dealership IN TOWN had it in stock. Once again, nobody tested the work before handing the car over. Now, I'm going to take responsibility for this third one, because as I look back at the first part of what I have written here, I'm clearly a complete idiot for ever going back. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me three times, well... that's the Ontario public education system's fault. Needed the valve cover bolts replaced on the 06 Magnum, as two of them were seized. They replaced the gaskets as well as the bolts, and the car started billowing black smoke a few minutes into the drive home. Thought it was a little bit of oil spilled during the repair that would just burn off. Nope, kept getting worse - way worse. Oil was continually leaking onto the exhaust, and on the way back to the garage several people pulled up next to me in a panic to tell me my car was on fire. Surprise! Nobody test drove the car before handing it over. Service advisor is friendly enough, but that's really their entire job, they aren't the ones that do the actual repairs, and when things get screwed up the service advisor can't do anything except turn the mess over to the service manager, whose "solution" is usually for me to buy more parts to complete the 4-digit price car repair. I now drive the extra 20 minutes to get to another dealership. read more

Booked an appointment to see a vehicle at 4pm on a Thursday....arrived and waited 40 minutes to be told the vehicle won't start. Frustrated I left and returned 2 hours later, drove the vehicle and started negotiating, sales guy Josh begun his dance and told me the price quoted only made them 600 dollars profit, then after dropping the price another 500 I commented they're only making 100, and Josh snaps on me basically telling me to leave because I'm too sarcastic. Being a Dodge/Jeep owner for over 20 years, I thought I would try this location a try. The store looks great. But, it was the worst car dealership experience I have ever had. They lied to make sure I did not purchase elsewhere. Promised me something they could find elsewhere. They were not able to get me what they promised. Zero client service. They said they would return our call numerous times but we always had to call them back for information after we purchased the vehicle. I will never return to this location and hope that others choose another dealership when purchasing a new or used vehicle. They are incompetent, liars and don't care about clients after they sell. read more

This dealership listed a vehicle on autotrader that they had already sold, then did not respond to my (24 hours notice) email requesting an appointment to test drive the car. When I showed up for the test drive, I was brusquely told that the vehicle was already sold. Needless to say, this was a very poor experience. Specifically: * After the vehicle was sold, it should have been updated to show that on autotrader. * My email should have been answered before I drove out to the dealership. * When I arrived, having wasted my time because they chose not to respond all day to my email, there should have been a sincere and profuse apology. One failure I could understand. All three tells me that this operation does not care about their (potential) customers. read more

In 2014, I went to them once to assess damage to my vehicle after an accident. They could not do what I asked, and that was the only time I ever made contact with them (can't do something simple like that? I'll go elsewhere.) It's 2016, they still call me and send me flyers as if I would have any interest in purchasing a car from them or dealing with them in the future. I PURCHASED A NEW JEEP AND A NEW FIAT FROM CAPITAL DODGE Since my purchase I have read many negative reviews on Capital Dodge and must say I was very worried. But ,I was there yesterday for service and had some issues that had little or nothing to do with warranty, adter everything was said and done the assistant manager came and told me everything was taken car of without me paying anything.They even fixed a flat I had on my spare tire .How nice is that? All I have to say is I really appreciate the service and the fact that they really care.I've bought 6 new cars in the last 10 years betwin my wife and I, and I will say this Capital dodge will see me as a return customer. Well I see this dealership is rated higher then expected but that is only because you cant rate -stars . This dealership has a great location with so much potential but the leader GM Sean Russet doesn't know how to run a business with customer service , I had my jeep worked on by this dealership it was a warrantied product for a sub frame . After being told its completely free and that the job was done , I walk into the building to have my jeep stuck because it is blocked in by a pickup truck ( purposely done) and a bill for 800+ dollars . I was outraged fought with Sean even had Sean tap out and reach out to a lawyer to speak me about a customer service issue . ( Intimidation tactic ). They won I had to bow out last year and bite the 800+ bill . This year I bring my vehicle in for inspection to JEEP BARHEAVEN , They tell me my front sub frame is completely rotten ( pictures will be online just working with my lawyer before posting) The mechanic can put his hand through my sub frame. I explain I had it done at CAPITAL DODGE in Kanata . I know have picture and a full report on the negligence and how this job was ignored so they could find other problems to charge me for so that mechanics make more money on the job. This business has broken laws now and also didn't fix a warrantied item when I brought it in for that specifically . I've never been so disappointed with a business in my entire life. Please STAY AWAY from this business they will not value your warranty they will charge you for parts they break ( also have mechanics from Volkswagen signing off on letters saying the parts were in perfect condition prior to the capital dodge visit) Those will also be posted and these are master tech's . Highest rated mechanics at these locations . This business should be shut down . Look at the reviews ! Ottawa deserves better, and so do the customers of this sketchy establishment read more

I bought my car from this dealership over a year ago and had a good experience. However, everytime I have to bring it in for service it is an issue. I specifically booked a morning appt today for something that I was told should take no longer than an hour and a half. My husband had followed me to the dealership so he could drive me home. I asked the guy in service if we were still good for an hour and a half and he said no the car would be ready by 2 or 3pm. I brought the car in at 7am.... this is not the first time this has happened. It is always like I am inconveniencing them with my business. Next time I will bring my vehicle to a different Dodge dealership for the recall that I have been waiting months for to be fixed. I suggest everyone else does the same. read more

A couple of years ago, I had an extremely bad experience at the service department at this dealership. It all started when a front suspension problem was "fixed" here under warranty on our Caravan. Soon after, it was apparent that nothing had changed. Unfortunately, the warranty coverage on the van ended, but the parts and workmanship of the repair were still covered, so I resolved to bring the van back to fix the issue. One day, we happened to be in the area and decided to stop in and just make an appointment (for what I expected to be a warranty repair), but the service rep practically insisted that they take a "quick" look then and there - she said it wasn't busy at all and it would only take a few minutes... I took this at the time to be good customer service and agreed - after all, we had plenty of time before we had to pick up the kids and no skin off my nose. Then it went all bad. After a considerable period of time - much longer than it would take to simply inspect the suspension - the service rep came out with quote in hand and told us that this was not the same issue. Now, admittedly, I'm not an expert, but I do know a little about mechanics. There is no doubt in my mind that this was the same issue. Anyways, the quote for repair was incredibly expensive. As this all took so long, I told her that we really had to go pick up our kids and we could not be late. For some reason, she really wanted us to have it fixed now. I said that was not possible and we needed to go, I made this clear from the start. To add insult to injury, she then informed us that we would have to pay for the inspection. I couldn't believe it!!! When I was talking to her about the unreasonable cost of the fee, another member of the staff listening in on the conversation made a snide comment. Don't get the wrong idea, I was very calm and collected... we did not deserve such treatment. If, for whatever reason you can avoid this place, then go to another dealership that won't talk down to you and treat you like garbage. Better yet, support your local independent garage if you can't do the work yourself. The customer service at Capital Dodge was horrible and I will not go back. It certainly did not reflect all of the accolades plastered all over their walls espousing their superior customer service. read more

If I could, I would have rated zero stars. Do your homework before buying here folks, there's a reason all the reviews are poor. I had a terrible experience purchasing my Dart. The salespeople I dealt with would disappear for days, leaving no notes with anyone about my file. I had to wait for THEIR earliest convenience to buy MY car. Emails and phone calls go unanswered, I was left standing in the showroom for 15 minutes while the salespeople argued over who should have to help me. They seem quite disinterested in selling cars and more interested chatting about the latest gossip. I would not recommend this business to anyone, nor would I ever return! read more

If negative stars could be given, it would've been. This dealership is filled to the brim with incompetence, disrespect and as far as I'm concerned, thievery. Stay far, far away. Ever since I bought my 2012 Fiat from them, nothing but heartache. Every time I take my car in for service, it comes back in worse shape. A few examples... - Winter tires went on= they didn't inflate the tires - Speedometer needed replacing= Booked an appt 6 weeks in advance. showed up, they didn't have the speedometer and blamed me for not ordering it. - Speedometer needed replacing= they damaged the dash and broke the temperature gauge - The seat was broken= Ask for a quote to get it fixed. They went ahead without asking and fixed it, charged $94 and it turns out, the problem wasn't fixed - Fixing the dash they damaged- Took it in to get it re-painted, some other warranty work and get new brakes= a week later, they told me my car was ready. Turns out the paint people showed up, didn't have the paint colour, they left and never came back. So, I show up, since I got a call saying my car was ready- it was not. Because it was also in for new brakes, I ended up spending close to $1200 and they didn't even wash it. There were fingerprints all over it and sticky tape marks all over my car. - Second attempt at getting the dash fixed= After being told my car would be ready on the appointed day, I show up...they don't know where my car is. I know it's a body shop, but not which one. There's nothing on my file. The customer service rep, doesn't have anyone's number he can call to find out WHERE MY CAR IS AND WHY IT ISN'T READY! These are just a few examples. There is no communication between staff, there is no communication between customers. They're expensive. They're incompetent. My 2 cents- stay far away from this dealership. read more

Had to go get 4 winter tires put on. After I left (approx 3:30) did a little city driving but once I got on the 417 doing 95+km/hr my van was vibrating so much I felt like I was in a helicopter and a warning light came on. I called them at exactly 4:03 and was told all service members had left for the day. I had to find out what was wrong and capital dodge is closed Sundays so I took it to Canadian tire. They said the balance was all off and there's a bent rim. After being charged $1000 for new tires I then had to pay Canadian tire $75 to do what capital dodge should have done in the first place. I spoke with the service manager at capital dodge today (Monday oct 31) and he said I should have brought it back in right away and they would have fixed it. I told him I'm not from Ottawa area I'm 2 hrs away. He said well sorry can't do anything for you, we've never had an improper balance before. So I said we'll now you have. So in more words or less, the MANAGER told me to stick the $75 I had to pay to have it done properly up my ass. read more

I took my 2011 Dodge Caravan to Capital Dodge with a weird front end noise. I was SURE I was looking at a 4 digit repair job. Instead, it was a loose axle bolt which they fixed (included in the oil change and inspection). They recommended replacing the air filters along with the oil change which I did. As a part of the deal offered they were including free windshield wipers. They looked at mine and determined they were fine so rather than just throw them away they gave me the new ones for when I need them. As I was leaving an employee (who looked like he was leaving for the day) even stopped to offer to toss out the seat cover and window dangler for me. A small gesture but much appreciated. I bought a Fiat 500 from them in 2012. I purchased a new car for my kids. I wanted new, because I wanted reliability. I had numerous issues with the car including battery, spark plugs, heater, drivetrain, interior finish falling apart etc... I had to tow it multiple times (once twice in the same week) due to issues. Finally sent an email to management to ask them to do something about the car. They reviewed the service record and agreed that the car had lots of issues and ask me to come in to see what they could do. I also had a copy of the service record and noticed that the engine was fully replaced before it was sold to me as a new car. This was never reported to me at the time of purchase. I came in and talked to the sale person. She did not offer me anything more than anybody else would get walking into the dealership. Raised it again to management but no help. At then end of 2014 I gave up and when to Honda to exchange the Fiat for a Civic. Honda gave me $500 more for the Fiat than Capital Dodge was willing to give me. Love the Civic. Don't buy a Fiat and do not buy anything from Capital Dodge. This should be a 0 star. read more
