Capital Aire Systems (CAS) installed a Rheem air conditioning system onto my existing Train heating system 7 years ago, and while it was not inexpensive - it has run like a champ, and kept the house cool. Unfortunately, the A/C system stopped working over this past July 4th holiday weekend and heat wave. I called CAS on Monday morning - expecting to schedule a service call for 'later in the week' - and I was pleasantly surprised to be able to schedule a service call for the next morning! "Darryl" arrived on time/early the next morning, and he was very friendly, professional (vehicle, uniform, demeanor, etc.), communicative (listening/speaking) - and he was very efficient in diagnosing and discovering my A/C problem. The solution sounded simple enough (if you knew what you were looking for), he had the parts on his truck, and it seemed like good value - and necessary - to get my A/C unit up and running again! ~Bravo Darryl! Darryl also told me about the annual maintenance contract available - which saves one 20% on parts, and waived this $129 service call fee. I signed up. (It's a great marketing tool/plan for CAS, and if you have 1 major repair - it pays for itself!) Darryl has no problem 'spending one's HVAC budget/money', and he does it so gently and well - that it almost feels good... Before he left, I even called him back inside to sell me and install an upgraded thermostat (while he was here)...! I'm glad that Capital Aire Systems installed my A/C system years ago ('Keep it Local', and I remember the process as fairly seamless), and I'm glad that Capital Aire Systems was able to come out so quickly this time - and sent Darryl as the technician! Not only did they use the old wiring from the 1970's to cut corners, they installed a nest system that did not work. For years we thought it was the best device only to find out it was installed incorrectly. We've called out the owner on his install-he never made it right. We called a honest company that stands by their work and knows what they are doing. Bad actors all the way around. Do not use this company for anything!!!! read more

We had a dual mini split system installed in 2019. There were multiple complications with one of the units right away. They came out and tried to resolve the problem and it would be ok for a week or two and then we would have issues again. I mentioned a number of times that I thought the machine was faulty. They had no problem taking the $6500 we paid but would not honor repairs without wanting to charge us. The repairs never fully resolved the issue. We switched HVAC companies and they after trouble shooting determined it was a defective part that should be covered under warranty. I called Capital to ask where they purchased my unit from in order to start a warranty exchange and they wouldn't tell me. I had to have our new HVAC person call. They were able to get the part but we had to pay them to install because Capital would not take care of us for that either. We are having new issues with this unit again but for a different reason and when we called Capital again today to see if they might help us out this time- they said they could but would have to charge us. The other split has always worked great! I would not recommend Capital Aire because not only do they not Stand by their product, they have horrible customer care unless they are able to nickel and dime you. read more

I called and spoke with Brittany, scheduled an appointment with Drady (the owner of the company) on Friday to give an estimate for a mini split system to be installed in a duplex - both sides. Appointment was confirmed for Friday with Drady. Drady was a no show, no call, NOTHING! As seen from the message I have attached I texted regarding them not showing up.... NO REPLY. Then, on Monday after no response to my text, I called ... spoke to Brittany again she said Drady got busy and told me he would call me. Yes, finally, he did call me, as we are talking he's cutting in and out of cell reception, in the middle of our conversation the call totally drops.... and I NEVER get a call back from him or the office to reschedule the appointment... Really? No apology for the no show, no effort to reschedule..How unprofessional! This company is totally careless of people's time. I find it shocking the owner of a business would ever handle a situation like that. I would NEVER recommend this company after my experience. read more

Christopher came out to Georgetown. He was very professional, as was the lady on the phone from the office. He crawled around my basement area, took pics and a little while later emerged. He showed me what the cause was to my main issue and then we talked price. It seemed reasonable. He came out the following day while I was away at work and fixed the issue. The company kept me apprised as to what was happening and when he was completed. During a season when companies have no time for the last minute customer, CAS was there for me. I can now sleep without waking up in a pool of sweat. If you happen to find yourself needing the services of this outfit, give 'em a call. They seem trust worthy, knowledgeable, professional and don't go crazy with the up sells. Update review: 10 months after having CAS come out and fix my AC duct and check my system, the tech up sold me on a program where they come out twice a year and check your system. I was told that the company would contact me to schedule these checks and I didn't need to worry about it. 10 months later, I never heard anything. What if I forgot about it and ended up goin with someone different next time I needed my system looked at????? I mention this to you simply so that if you've done this, and I recently learned that this is not necessarily needed, you won't forget and leave your money on the table before walking away. read more

Contacted CAS on Thursday for an appointment on the following Tuesday. We took the time to be home for the appointment that was scheduled between 2 and 4. Britney called around 12 that day to ask if the appointment could be rescheduled for the next day. I told her no, my husband wanted to be there for the appointment. She told me that something had come up with Dradys schedule and he would make the appointment after hours. We waited until 6:30 then gave up. No call, no show. My time is valuable too and any business man that doesn't consider that isn't anyone I want to do business with. I called a competitor who came out the same day. read more

From the very first encounter with CAS, it's been a wonderful experience. Joe came out and looked at all my equipment and talked to me like a normal human being, not like a salesman. I felt like he was trying to help me out like a family member, not like a stranger. It was a very pleasant experience. I was quoted such a better price than all the other big name (even not so big name) companies with the same equipment. I have 3 kids and my heater broke during the week (thank God it wasn't a 105° week but still, my house was getting up to 88°) and that just wasn't going to work for me for long. I don't do well with heat and no airflow. Luckily CAS was able to schedule me ASAP for a new install. I had my new A/C the following Monday, which was much better than waiting 3 weeks for a new system. Jimmy and Mike came out to install and were very professional and kind. They had to move my kid's toy chest and put the new A/C where it was and when they put the toy chest in a new place, they trimmed my bushes to make sure it fit well for my kids. They went above and beyond to make sure it was done right and it was even done 3 hours before the time they originally planned. Thank you so much CAS for making my family happy again with a working A/C and furnace. You guys are the best! read more

I needed a tankless water heater installed so I called several different companies for quotes. CAS was not the cheapest, but I was afraid to go with someone who may not be around in 5-10 years. The sales rep seemed trustworthy and was the cheapest of the big companies. The install was supposed to begin on Monday. They called Monday and said the rep was "sick" (he told me a week earlier he wouldn't be present for the install) and asked if they could come Tuesday. We arranged our schedule for Monday, but things happen so we re-arranged our schedule for Tuesday. They changed the size of the gas line on Tuesday for some reason and did not finish. Cold water only all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning for showering. Ok. These things happen. At least they will finish by Wednesday afternoon. They were supposed to arrive between 8-10 on Wednesday. We told them that we could not re-arrange our schedule on Wednesday but would leave the garage door open for them. Nobody showed at 10. We left and came back at noon. Still nobody. I called the rep's number twice and it went to voicemail. Then I called the main office and was told that they would contact him to call me back. The office called me back and said the rep was no longer with the company. She said that they would put together a crew and come finish tomorrow (Thursday). I explained that the install was supposed to happen on Monday and we are two days without hot water. She didn't seem to care, but said the owner would call. My wife is ticked. No laundry, dishes, baths for kids. Cold showers (again) for us. I am waiting for the owner to call and make this all right. I will update the review after we speak. P.S. Credit card IS accepted. 8/16 - To finish the review. Drady, the owner, called and was obviously frustrated by what was going on. It sounds like the former sales rep had under-bid and over-promised. Drady told me that he was sorry and that the job would be finished Thursday. I pointed out my inconveniences and disappointment with having to call them on Wednesday at noon waiting for them to show up (instead of them calling me). I was also disappointed that he did not offer to discount the job initially (Drady said the job was already WAY under priced, though I did have two bids lower by $400 and $700). Anyway, in the end I have a tankless water heater and he dropped a bit over 10% off my price. I was impressed that Drady showed up to my home to meet me in person and discuss a resolution. Neither of us is super happy with the outcome, but after a lot of effort, we parted ways with a handshake. I gave them 4-stars because I believe that he really was in a tight spot with the employee leaving. The installers were friendly and competent. read more

We started the solar process in the summer of 2021. We just got solar in January of 2022. We were supposed to have our battery backup by October of 21. We still have no battery and no one can tell us what's going on. They tore up our field and left huge messy piles of concrete because they did use forms to pour as they had forgotten to bring them. They would schedule a day and then just not show up or call. We finally have solar so one star but we stil have to pay to have someone cleanup the field and are still waiting on any news of our battery we were promised almost a year ago. read more

DON'T CALL THIS COMPANY..If you're in a panic about power outages, their salesman joe will tell you anything you need to hear to get your business. You will see their signs around, 20 panels for $16999. With a 2k generator. What we asked for: 20 panels, battery back up, and a solar electric car charging station. What we got: 19 panels installed uneven, no charge station, offered us a cord..no generator. The process took almost 4 months by the time we were installed And connected And a story that battery wall or backups not available till 4th quarter. And they were going to call , I have been doing research and knowing what I know now, these guys as nice as they are, I was probably their 1st job! NOW!! I'm trying to add that battery back up to the solar edge SE3800H INVERTER THAT CANNOT BE CONNECTED TO BATTERIES!! HOPE I SAVED JUST 1 PERSON FROM THEIR BS... WILL see what happens next. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We just recently moved to the area and were quoted ridiculously high prices for solar. One company even wanted us to remove parts of an oak tree that was we a several 100 years old. This place just happened to be sitting under a canopy on a street corner advertising so we figured what the heck. There were no hidden costs, absolutely everything was included. Start to finish between contracts, insulation, and inspector it was under 2 weeks and from I understand PG&E will have it turned on next week and wallah off the grid. Received call 7-11 about noon that part was in. Part installed 7-12 in the morning. While the job did get done in the end, the time frame - 19 days - was simply unacceptable. The part was one that can be obtained from any number of sources in a lot less time. I see another comment in which the same kinds of communication problems were noted. I set up an appointment with Capital Air Systems over 2 weeks out for an estimate to install a new heating and AC system. So I take a day off work to be home because this was the soonest they had available. When it comes time for them to show up they NO CALL, NO SHOW. After waiting 20 minutes I finally called them. Their response was they were too busy at the office. At least have the decency to call and tell me you can't make it. How can i expect you to manage a 20K project when you can't even manage a schedule. read more

I have used Capital Aire Systems for about 6 years or so with 3 different homes. 2 were homes with existing HVAC units and one we had them install a new HVAC system. When I started with Capital Aire Systems, our home had and existing split system that the compressor went bad on. Drady researched and got the compressor replaced for me under warranty (he did not install the system originally). A few years ago there were some hiccups because some of the employees left all at once. Drady has always made any issue right. I have owned businesses and understand issues with employees - working with customers to make it right is what counts and Drady has done this for me. I would highly recommend this company for any HVAC needs. read more

I had been looking for a house fan for several years. After seeing Quietcool advertised I contacted CAS last Thursday which is located just down the road from my house. The next day Joe came out and we discussed the proper location and the advantages of the different sizes and types. Over the weekend we exchanged messages about questions I had. On Monday we agreed the size my 3800 sq./ft. house with 10 foot ceilings would need. No pressure to upgrade or get a more expensive unit and actually recommended a lower price unit that he knew would fit our needs. On Tuesday morning Allen and Jeff arrived at 8:30 and had it installed and the room cleaned by 11:30. That evening we went out to visit friends and turned AC off. When we returned at 10:00 the house was over 80 degrees. I opened three windows and gave Quietcool its first test. By 10:30 the house was a comfortable 76, the same as the outside temperature. I left the fan on low for the remainder of the night with two windows open and by morning the house was a comfortable 73 degrees. The fan is very quiet though air can be heard going through the vent, but not loud. I was very happy with the prompt and professional service of CAS including the very nice lady who did the scheduling and coordination of the staff. read more

On Thursday, July 19th, our A/C stopped working around noon (104 degree day. I called a number of A/C repair places listed on YELP and none of them were going to be able to come to my house for 6 to 7 days. I called Capital Aire and they were able to fit me in the next day. A very nice, polite, professional young man, Jake, checked out the entire system, located the problem, and luckily had the needed replacement part with him - we were up and running in no time. He was a life saver - wasn't looking forward to another night in this heat without A/C. If I have any heating or A/C problem in the future they will be my first call. read more

This business is awesome! The owner, Drady,is such a pleasant person . He will spend the time to explain whatever is necessary. We needed a new hvac system installed in our home. We first called all the larger companies thinking they would have better prices. We were sure wrong! We called Capital Aire Systems and Drady came out to our home . We were in a hurry to get this done since our old system was no longer worth fixing. Drady came out on a Sunday and gave us a quote several thousands of dollars less than the other companies. They use top of the line Rheem units, truly is excellent equipment, my heater cranks out like 104 degrees. I read reviews at other sites about how these guys can't be trusted to have your rental there for you when they say they will. Well I went against my better judgement and reserved a moving trailer through them. GUESS WHAT?!! I called them the day before my rental and was assured that they would have a trailer there for me. I called before I was heading in to get my trailer and guess what. No trailer!! The person I talked to several times during the week was not in and now there was no record of my reservation!! These guys suck!! If you are in Placerville, go to Party Royal rentals instead. read more

My situation is very similar to David K. They installed a brand new heat and a/c unit in 2012. Their prices were very competitive and Drady was nice and easy to deal with. He seemed real genuine. While the install went ok, they had to come back out a year later and add an addtional vent as the unit was not getting enough air intake. This should have been taken care of initially. I seem to remember other hiccups during the install (wrong size filters, etc). My unit came with a two or three year service agreement. They either missed appointments, showed up very late, called to reschedule, or waited until 10 minutes prior to the end of the appointment window before calling and letting me know they weren't going to make it at all that day. I too have had to call and find out where they were as they were late, instead of them calling me and advising they were running late. I would not recommend this company. read more
