Over the past six months he and his senior assistant, Curtis, have practically completely rewired our 1960's house, from changing the circuit box to new kitchen and bathroom wiring, outdoor lighting and everything in between. I had Chris and his crew install a generator and run power to my spa a few months ago. They did a great job! They were on time, knew exactly what I needed to get the jobs done. They completely cleaned up after and explained how everything worked so I feel confident using the generator. I hadn't used my spa since and tried to fire it up yesterday. No power. My husband flipped breakers, still no power. I called Chris and he had the guys here in 20 minutes! Talk about fabulous service! We had an electrical problem in our home and Gilwee showed up the very next day. We had lost power to a number of circuits and we couldn't find any problem. Gilwee technicians spent some time tracking the problem down. They found that the previous homeowner had mis-wired a circuit such that a wire was overheating and melting the insulation. Gilwee Electric is a Five Star electrician Our main panel had a meltdown - the AC breaker had an electrical fire where it attached to the bus bar. After the fire department and PG&E left, we started looking for someone to replace the panel. Gilwee Electric stood out because they specialize in panel analysis and replacement in older houses (ours is 32 years old). We called and Chris called back promptly, and then came over to assess the repairs needed (obviously a complete panel replacement was required) and provided the plan and cost. An hour later parts were here and they began work. He and his helper worked all day long - including setting a subpanel because the existing panel was oversubscribed. We had everything running by the evening. I cannot tell you how much relief there is with a competent professional working on your electrical distribution! We were were totally rewarded by choosing Gilwee Electric. We could not be happier with Gilwee Electric - we felt like we were a priority and Chris kept us up on status during the retrofit since little things came up relating to the age and wiring of the house. Gilwee electric was by far one of the best contractors I've had while working on our home remodel. Chris came out, looked over my project gave me some great advice on what to do, and ultimately came out twice to complete our electrical needs. He and his assistant (I forgot his name but great too!) replaced a 30+ year old main panel, added multiple new circuits, added an outside fan hookup on our patio, an RV/ welder plug in my garage (and fixed it when I asked for the wrong plug!).
