This past Friday evening, March 29, your company charged me $325.00 to have my Toyota RAV4 pulled 70 feet (not 700) off the beach because it was stuck in it and the entire job took 30 minutes. I have called you multiple times and left messages for you to call me and explain what you base your pricing on, but, to no avail. To me that's price-gouging. Businesses should not be allowed to get away with that! From the back of my RAV4 and back of the tow-truck's bed extended, was 70 feet. Yes, I did accept the pricing. What was my other choice? You price-gouged me. How do you sleep well at night? You're a scumbag. You tried to make it sound as if it was a huge project; it was so easy and completed in thirty minutes. Terrible Service I called in a roadside assistance call to AAA call at 8:15pm. First it was going to be 59 minutes. Then I got a call at 9:20pm they were running late and I would get a call when the driver was on his way. Owner Dean is very unprofessional and does not know how to talk to his customers or employees we were at his office to talk about the damages to our work truck and he was there cussing one of his employees out about damages to one of his truck. He told us his son Connor towed our business truck to balise ford that Tuesday for the engine repairs and we ended up with a broken driveshaft, we were recommended to his company by balise ford, his company never called us after his son was contacted the same day about the the damages as well, we only received a call from Rick balise ford service advisor asking us if we were aware of the damages to the truck because he knew the truck was there for engine work, our truck left home with an engine issue not a broken driveshaft. Dean told us their drivers never check the surrounding of the vehicles after they are dropped off, that they just leave them there and they are not responsible for what happens after that. They were aware that our truck was an older truck before they agreed to pick it up and drop it off to balise ford and after we had to contact them about the damages that happened to the truck now he calls our truck old and rusty and that he was not responsible for the damage that was caused during his son Conner delivery to Balise ford, he tried blaming this on balise ford saying they may have moved the truck and caused the damage so we got a statement on paper from Rick stated that our truck was delivered with a damaged driveshaft. We showed it to dean who got upset and called ricks manager Chris who he had on speaker phone and Chris was saying to dean why did we bring our truck to them in the first place for services knowing that the truck was 10 to 20 years old just all discriminating things about the truck while we were listening to the call after they agreed to work on our truck. Dean was saying if they caused the damage to the driveshaft the parts to our truck would have been on the back of his truck. He came to balise ford with us and looked underneath the truck and saw the driveshaft was still hanging from the truck, the part that was broken off the truck was on the ground and the bolts were there on the ground as well, so that explains why the parts would not be on the back of your tow truck, he still denied the damage to the truck, the truck was never moved from the spot where his son towed it to at all because balise was not going to be able to start the work on it until the 9/25. They had offered us to tow it there early just in case they could start the work before 9/25 which they would have notified us. Two companies that were well aware that our truck was older and had some rust but they still agreed to do services to our truck and to tow our truck knowing the condition and age of our truck and when the truck became damaged between the two companies no one is taking accountability and now they have a problem with the age of the truck and the rust on the truck, if they thought it was a liability to their businesses they would have never took the work or our money for services. Neither company agreed to fix the damages. It is sad from one business owner to another especially when you just wanted to fix your work truck to provide for your family and you have to pay more money to get it towed back home with the same damages and more damages on top of what you never had before you truck left home. We all had to start from somewhere wether your work truck is old or new. read more

If I could give no stars I would but I have to give at least one. AAA had Capeway Towing come out to tow my vehicle to a dealership due to an oil leak and he refused to transport me, knowing I had to get to the dealer to pick up a loaner car before 5, and telling me that his manager said no. Well, upon speaking to the owner he told me is was the drivers choice to bring me or not. So instead of being honest with me and telling me that he wasn't comfortable with that situation he choose to leave us stranded with a disabled child so he could continue "smoking' and hanging out with his friends he had in his tow truck more than a family that was in need. So I refused to let this company tow my vehicle and waited for another tow truck and got to the dealership before 5 and got a loaner car and had excellent service. I refuse to EVER count on Capeway Towing whenever I am on the Cape again. Even the owner was very rude when he was speaking to me on the phone. They were a waste of my time and energy. Stay as far away from this company as you can. Such a disgrace in workers and the owner. But like they say it always starts with the top so I guess the owner is teaching his employees how to work the way he conducts business. A business I am staying far away from!!!! read more

We had 3 cars towed from near the ferry terminal. The parking lot wasn't clearly marked and almost empty. We accept that we missed the signage however, The employee refused to accept a credit card. Fortunately we were able to come up with the cash. We were tired, cold and had a an 8 month old baby with us. The attached receipt is incomplete and doesn't show our payment. No times recorded yet we were charged for storage. You don't want to get a flat tire when you're on vacation. You just don't. But it happened. So, I Googled tow services in Hyannis, and Capeway was the first business listed. We gave them a call and told them where we were located based on which restaurants we were in front of. Time estimate: 30 minutes until they could get there. They showed up in about half that amount of time. The guy who came was friendly and very efficient, changing the tire in record time. He did a great job, and he was so fast that we were still able to make our dinner reservations. You definitely don't want to have car troubles on vacation. But if you're on the Cape and it happens, give these guys a call and they will fix you up as painlessly as possible. read more

It was our last day on Cape Cod, visiting for vacation. We were having the best time, and woke up at our hotel in Provincetown ready to take on the day. We went outside and checked out, and put away our bags in the trunk. 15 minutes later before we left, we realized the keys were locked in the trunk. The horror swept over us as we realized what an arduous, disappointing day and even weekend this may turn into. Immediately we called AAA, and were told someone would be here in 1 hour. Sure enough, at the 1 hour mark, our technician showed up (I believe his name was Jimmy, or James). He quickly got into the vehicle's front doors - but since the car was a certain make of Mercedes, the trunk opener was locked, and there was no latch to pull the seats down from the inside. Our technician got on the phone with his team and started brainstorming other ways. Meanwhile I was on the phone with Mercedes Benz, who told me they could have a tow truck tow the car from Cape Cod to the Hanover area, which would take roughly ~1.5 hours. Oh, and we would have to find our own ride there, because, covid19. I sat down on the curb in sadness that the next few days would be spent in a logistical nightmare. Suddenly, our technician came out of the car and had an idea - to spark the electricity to reboot the system and open the trunk. There's only a chance it could work. He was under the hood, my boyfriend in the car, and me on the trunk. We tried once - twice - and on the third try - the trunk flew open. Relief washed over all of us and if there wasn't a pandemic going on, I would have given him a hug. His persistence to help us and exhaust all options is why we weren't stuck in a nightmare on the last 2 days of our vacation hundreds of miles from home. THANK YOU. This was once a well-run local Cape Cod company. Unfortunately, due to an apparent change in ownership/management, this business is now a disgrace. After discovering a flat tire, Capeway Towing was dispatched to tow my car. A priority towing job, specifically a motor vehicle accident, evidently caused a long delay before a tow truck would be able to tow my car. That is clearly understandable, but what is not understandable is how Capeway Towing completely failed to even bother calling the customer to advise of the delay. Additionally, when I called Capeway Towing after the tow truck's no-show, the individual answering the phone was both rude and unapologetic. I asked for his first and last name, but he would only give his first name of Dean. He then indicated he was the owner, which sadly turns out to be true. Dean was not only completely unhelpful to me, but was apparently equally miserable to the roadside assistance company who contacted Capeway for the tow, with its representative telling me after a follow-up phone call with Dean that he was "unprofessional" and that his conduct was "unacceptable". I telephoned Dean after another towing company was dispatched, and only after questioning Dean about his bizarre behavior did he admit that he forgot to call me about his truck's lengthy delay. Even then, he was rude and I ended the call. It should also be said that the competitor company which was dispatched was Buckler's Towing, and its driver not only appeared a few minutes early, but also was very professional -- it was like night and day between the two companies. Beware of Capeway Towing -- a formerly good company now evidently under terrible management. read more

Broke down today and needed a tow. Called AAA, who called Davis. Driver arrived in allotted time but told me that he would load the car on the truck his way or not at all. I suggested that I would point out the "Factory approved" attachment points, but he replied that he had been towing cars all his life and began suggesting attachment points that would damage the car. I informed him that he was right about one thing, my vehicle was not to be loaded on his truck. A complete waste of my time. We had our cars towed to our mechanic in Hyannis through our AARP Roadside Assistance Program, they sent Capeway Towing to do the job. The driver backed onto our lawn and ran over our underground light crushing it. When I called Capeway the owner said it was "not his problem" but instead told me that it was the driver's responsibility. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which he never even responded to and now feel that I may need to get the police involved since it was his truck (which I assume has insurance) that was operated by his employee that did the damage. Obviously I would never recommend any business that doesn't accept responsibility for their actions. read more

I was going off Cape for my daughter's 16th birthday celebration. We were headed to Rhode Island and left early to attend a reservation we had. It was around 5 am and were about 20 minutes into our trip when there was an awful hissing noise and what sounded like metal coming apart under the hood. The car lost all power as I steered it off the highway. Irritated and mad I called the state police, told them where the car was and that I would get it out of there asap. I borrowed a car and continued on my way to Rhode Island. Once there I looked online at tow trucks in the area as I didn't have AAA and was sure it would cost me a fortune to get towed. The first company that came up was Capeway Towing and I called them. I explained my situation to Dean, who was very helpful and courteous. I told him that the keys were not with the car and he offered to meet a relative anywhere to get them that would be convenient for my family....not him! The agreed time to meet was at noon and he was right on time. After the weekend away I was worried about how much the tow would cost me. They towed it to their lot as I didn't have a mechanic in the area and let me leave it there until I returned three days later. They didn't charge me storage and the cost of the tow was less than a quarter of what I thought it would be. Thanks so much Dean! Your service was excellent and I will recommend your company to anyone who needs a tow. Now, the money I saved using Capeway I can put towards the head gasket I need. read more

After the recent storms, the Cape was under several feet of snow. I got my car stuck in a snow bank at the end of my driveway. I called Liberty Mutual's roadside assistance. They called Capeway Towing. Liberty Mutual covered the first $100 of the towing fee. Evidently this wasn't enough for Capeway. THey saw an opportunity to GOUGE customers due to the storm. Their fee for towing my car 30FT? $200!!! That's right $200 to tow a car 30FT!!!!! Do you think this tow would have cost $200 if I had got it stuck after a rain storm in July????? NO.
