This is my second visit. Food is exceptional! Ambiance is nice when lightly occupied but gets quite loud when full. The walls are red brick (a soft wall hanging on one side would cut the noise). No wi-fi available but food of this quality requires no distraction. read more

Save your time and money! My friend and I both local biz owners went in for lunch last Thursday. Her husband is a chef and my Mother-in-law is Italian and a culinary historian and food blogger. So we are foodies to say the least. We were immediately uncomfortable as the door opens into the seating, no space for waiting. The servers are unqualified and RUDE. We spent almost$70 on food we could not eat. Ignored for 15 minutes only to have the server pound waters on table. Bruschetta (pronounced by server brews-ket-a)was so salty and burnt it was inedible, hamachi(raw)was warm and smelled fishy and were sent back. Cocktail was a Negroni Bianco ; poured into shaker of ice left dying while she went into kitchen to grab grapefruit for garnish, shake, sort of strain-just bad. Side salads were mostly the ends and spines of romaine with literal bread crumbs for croutons. Waited 10 minutes for a water refill at which time were told apps would be taken off the bill. Both entrees came out smothered in flavorless shredded white cheese. Sauce looks to be exactly the same except for protein and tastes of spaghetti Os. Paccheri- prawns were over cooked rubbery and grainy, pasta was Undercooked! Strozzapreti - pasta was cooked but contained prosciutto and sausage in the bolognese which was again over salted no trace of mascarpone or mint in flavor. We did not eat. When our server finally drug herself back to our table to bring check she was rude and actually said " well, everyone else today have raved". We got our bill with ALL items on it. We were told to wait for "the chef" to come talk with us, at which time he joined the maintenance guys and disappeared down the hall. It had been 95 minutes and we needed to leave to return to work. We paid and left My business card so Jimmy could contact me, which still has not happened. The highest quality food I've had in Everett!

Fun lunch date spot! The burrata was spectacular. It had rhubarb, honeycomb, arugula and spiced walnut with 4 pieces of bread accompanying it. It was the perfect combination of salty, sweet, crunchy, and crispy. Would return for this alone! We got the bucatini with pancetta, red onion, and egg yolk. My husband felt it was 'over sauced' but I thought it was incredibly tasty with the bites of pancetta! We also got the tagliatelle dish which had asparagus, english peas, creme friache, and chive. The peas were a little bitter but the pasta and sauce were really tasty. The waitress was friendly and helpful and provided prompt service. I'd definitely return- maybe check out dinner there. It reminded me of a nice Seattle pasta restaurant but without the headache of commuting and parking in Seattle! read more

Open kitchen concept was fun to experience, watching the 3 chefs working together, preparing/plating food, ebbs and flows as orders came in... and then some of the best tasting food to enjoy at the end of it all. We have had our eyes on this spot since it came to everett, as coming form Seattle we were looking for some different food options in the area. Our hostess and waitress were very polite and personable. We shared the olive plate and pork dish. Both were flavored and presented beautifully! Olives were warm and crunchy with fresh olive oil and lemon, much different than the traditional olive bar type. Pork- yum. Cooked differently than how we all had this growing up (dry), this pork was complimented with a delicious black garlic sauce, cooked peaches, and walla walla onion sauté. Divine. Such a cute place. I'm torn with this review.the restaurant is beautifully laid out with an open kitchen concept you can see from each table. It is small and cozy with a modern rustic feel. For our starter we picked the olives appetizer and it was warmed olives in olive oil nothing else. Not the best of appetizers. The wine selection is very limited and overpriced for the quality of wine. When it came to our entrees I ordered the tagliatelle and my husband ordered the paccheri. The tagliatelle was simply amazing! It was the best thing we tasted all night, however the paccheri with prawns had zero flavor and was a disappointment especially when your paying 18 a plate. We are debating on going back and giving it another try simply because the tagliatelle was so good. read more

DELICIOUS!!!! My sister recommended this place when I had friends in town and literally everything we had was absolutely salivatingly delicious!!! The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended some wine for us. The ambiance is very cozy and warm with the brick walls and low lighting. But...the best part was when I needed some water to rinse out my baby's bottle, the waitress not only rinsed it out for me, but she also filled it with warm water so I could make a formula bottle for my baby! Exemplary service!! I was more than impressed with this experience and will ABSOLUTELY be back and telling everyone to go try the food!! read more

So incredibly good!!! The decor inside is awesome, I really like how they re did this place (was a Hawaiian restaurant I think?) and think it was beautiful. The waitresses were all sweet! When we showed up we got the last table so the place was pretty busy, and they were constantly smiling with everyone and it was nice to see! The food was PERFECTION. I had the bucatini, and he had the rigatoni. He ate all of his and was loving it, but there was plenty for me to take home and enjoy later. I'll definitely be coming back and trying something else. A place for special occasions or really any day if you live great food. It's hard to beat scratch made pasta dishes and seasonal menu items. I can't say I've had a bad dish here. The bucatini is one of my favorites and the focaccia with salted butter and oil is a wonderful starter. The restaurant is a great location right in downtown with an intimate atmosphere. This hot spot came highly recommended by my boss and regular to the restaurant and we were told by friends that it can be hard to get in with lines out the door. We decided to try anyways on a Friday night. When we walked in, we were coolly greeted by an older (no offense) female server who was less than friendly when we asked if there were any available tables. She didn't smile, offer an actual greeting or offer to schedule a reservation while we were in the restaurant. There were not any available tables for the evening and we were advised to make a reservation for a different date. we stepped outside and hopped on the Capers + Olives website only to find out there is no way to request a reservation online and no direction to call the restaurant to make one. Needless to say it was a little frustrating. I called the restaurant and was told by a different person that people just call in and make reservations for the same day or a few days in advance. So I did. I made a reservation for a Wednesday evening for my wifes birthday. We returned to the restaurant and were again greeted by the same woman lacking in customer service skills and told to wait while a table was cleared. As we looked around, the space was not full and all of the other tables were dressed and had signs stating they were reserved. We did not have our "reserved" table reserved. When seated, we were given no glasses, No water(as is custom for all the tables), no menus. We were sat as an empty table with a candle. Eventually the server returned after seating another table and taking their order (after we were seated) and she realized we had nothing on our table. She then brought glassware that was dripping wet, menus that were warped because they had gotten wet from the glassware (they print on simple paper). With al of the reviews and recommendations, at that point we didn't really care what the food tasted like, we almost walked out if it wasn't for my wifes birthday. After taking our orders and brining silverware and small plates, the server stopped by a couple of times to refill water. The food was great. The experience with the services, completely off putting. We were really excited to find a good restaurant close to home as we usually venture into Seattle or the Eastside. We loved the atmosphere and being able to watch the chef cook. The overall vibe was nice and not too loud. Intimate with nice lighting and clean. I totally would have been a frequent visitor if it wasn't for the service. Unfortunately, no amount of great food accounts for crappy, dismissive or half ass service. The server wasn't overtly rude but she definitely made us feel like we were an inconvenience despite having made a reservation and being paying respectful, tipping, customers. If you are looking for great food, GO. If you expect decent service as part of your experience, skip. We stopped in 2x an both interactions were off putting. Or just try take out. read more

So good!!! We ordered the spaghetti, rigatoni, beet salad, and bread. Everything was so tasty and fresh and we left quite satisfied. The chef and his crew are in plain view so you get to see them in action. Food is fantastic, service quite lacking. We visited on a Monday evening around 630p. Upon entering it was unclear where to check-in for seating. After standing by the door for 2-3 minutes we were acknowledged and seated at a table for two directly in front of the door. The tabletop was dirty -with water and wine rings from glasses. Our waitress did not notice this and we requested the table cleaned; it was not wiped thoroughly. This small restaurant was full at dinnertime on a Monday which seemed like a good omen. We were attended to for drink and appetizer orders promptly. When "serving" the appetizer the waitress let the plate with a loud clunk onto the table and without speaking, taking any care or pause she turned and was gone. Strange. The bruschetta appetizer was delicious!! The waitress "served" our entree plates without clearing the empty appetizer dish or our individual empty appetizer plates. Our entrees were dropped loudly on the side of the table. It was unusual because I had even moved my appetizer plate out of the way to make space for the entree in front of me. After leaving our plates on the table, she turned away without any word of acknowledgement. The prices were reasonable. At no point were we asked if we needed anything else or if we were satisfied with our meal. There were two waitresses and a gentleman in an apron serving patrons in this small restaurant. Though the restaurant was full, there is no excuse for poor service. The food is definitely above average for the area, though it is disheartening about the poor service because we wanted to love this place. Please train waitstaff to match the high quality food standard. This waitress was an older female who showed no pride in the product. The service we received was almost appalling. read more

I have to say I was quite disappointed with our dinner experience. My guests enjoyed the appetizers and pastas, however, the hanger steak was so tough I was only able to eat a little over half of it. It was loaded with muscle. I asked our server to show the chef/owner which she did. Unfortunately the owner cared not to acknowledge and did nothing. I was not looking for a replacement as I was able to eat a little over half of it. but I did expect was an acknowledgement by the chef/owner. Ordered the duck family meal and I must say, it was incredible. The duck was wonderful, the pasta was delicious, and the burrata and bread were delightful. If this is what a to-go meal is like from Capers + Olives then I can only imagine a sit-down meal is even better. Also the family meal was perfect for two very hungry adults, and at $50 I think that was a fair price for such a fresh meal. I resist the urge to order a family meal every week, to be honest. I am so excited about this restaurant! The cocktail menu was innovative, diverse and reasonably priced. A good wine list with strong BTG options. We started with warmed olives...a different enough taste with a twist but still our favorite olives. We each had pasta. The crab pasta was light and let the crab carry the dish. The sausage and Parmesan broth pasta was a great flavor mix. The sausage is made in-house and you can taste the quality. Can never pass up panna cotta for dessert. It was a perfect finish. The prices were incredibly reasonable, service spot on, and the wave and thank you from the kitchen made me want to turn around for one more drink! read more

The food is excellent but there are some odd quirks that they need to work out. 1. Every time we call to make a reservation, without fail, the time requested is never an option. Typically if the time being asked about isn't available, a restaurant will offer other options but not Capers + Olives. You call, request a time, and they inevitably say "no, we can't accommodate that time" but never provide any other times so you're left guessing times that might work for them. 2. There is a waitress, who we have had a few times now and she is just flat out rude and impatient. On numerous occasions, she has made what would have been a lovely, enjoyable meal, frustrating and uncomfortable. Recently, she seemed annoyed by the time our party of 6 took to place our order (we were only provided 3 menus so it took us a little bit to pass around and determine what we wanted); when I mentioned early on that we would want to separate our checks, she informed me that she would handle it at the end of the meal and split everything equally (which was not what I was asking). When the bill arrived, she was annoyed that we wanted to split our check up by what was ordered and we ended up breaking the bill up for her to simplify. 3. Something is totally up with the lighting and fixtures. They flicker and change from darker to lighter and back every 2 minutes (not an exaggeration). It is likely due to circuits being connected to something in the kitchen or in the back of house but it is definitely noticeable and a little odd. The food is incredible; 10/10. This service though is detrimental to your restaurant and if you weren't one of the only gigs in town, I certainly wouldn't rush back to be treated like I'm an inconvenience. read more

This restaurant is such an unexpected gem, with some of the best pasta I've had outside of Italy. Friends and I dined here while in Everett for a sporting event. We didn't have reservations, but had gotten in just early enough on a Friday night to be able to be seated without a wait. Each of us ordered a starter: dungeness crab salad, pear salad, and charred broccoli. The salads were bright and flavorful, but the charred broccoli was the star of the three. It was so flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I wish I had ordered my own plate! Then we each had a pasta dish: the nightly special, rigatoni, and tagliatelle. All were delicious, but I loved my tagliatelle. The guanciale added the perfect touch of texture -- crispy, but still melt-in-your-mouth. We shared the olive oil cake for dessert. It had a lovely light texture and the right amount of sweetness. Service was effective without being overbearing and the noise level wasn't excessive. I wish my trip to Everett were longer so I could've enjoyed more meals here! Kudos to the chef! read more
