I booked an appointment via Yelp, and then confirmed by phone, for Sunday over Memorial Day weekend. I was clear that I wanted a blow out and styling in a ponytail with a braid. Whoever called to confirm asked that I arrive a little earlier because it was going to be more involved. I arrived 15 minutes early like I was asked, and the salon was pretty empty. It was very cute, and had a very modern aesthetic, so I was hopeful. The owner actually shampooed me and blew out my hair alongside one of his stylists, but when I mentioned that I was there for the styling, too, I was met with passive aggression. The owner seemed willing, without hesitation, to accommodate me, but I was honestly a bit frustrated because I had booked the service and they obviously didn't properly schedule it on their end. That said, he was nice, and didn't even introduce it as being a problem. Once my hair was dry, a different stylist started to do the updo. It was then that my opinion wavered. I felt rushed, and met with passive aggression, reminded several times during the process that "I should have booked an updo" when I could not have been any more clear when I booked, when I arrived, etc. At one point I finally quipped back that I did, and that it was their error, not mine. She told me I could "come back to have the style finished." I felt like it was honestly done enough, and I didn't want to sit through any more soft scolding. I paid $85 for a ponytail that would have been ok on its own, actually, but the braid was pretty bland. I don't know that I'd come back, at least not with such unseasoned staff besides the owner. If you're going for a simple, straight-forward blowout, I actually WOULD recommend them, because before the ponytail styling began, the blowout was actually quite nice.
