From the moment you walk into Leticia's gorgeous salon you feel at home. It's beautiful wood finish and pristine artistic design that is well lit with natural sunlight feels as if you are stepping into a magical tree house. The staff is warm and friendly and they immediately made me feel comfortable the moment I got there. Daniella and Amy are excellent and I always feel welcome when I am greeted at the door to the careful way they care for my hair. When living in Manhattan I would get frequent blowouts from my stylist and was accustomed to a certain style. Not only did Leticia do a fantastic job, it was the best blowout I ever received!! She also gave me an excellent cut a few weeks later to clean up my layers. I then met Lastenia, the senior expert colorist at Aura Salon. She was very patient and listened carefully to my needs and what I desired for my color. It took me a few weeks to decide on making the move, and I am so happy I did! Lastenia took her time and was meticulous and it came out fabulous! The color was natural and beautiful and blended well with my previous highlights. I was asked how short I wanted to go and I said 2-3 inches. Now the longest part BARELY touches my neck. Flyaway long hair pieces on both sides of the face that I have to cut myself to even them out. When I try to put hair up one side falls down, which means the layers are uneven, one side shorter than the other. Where my bangs end, the first layer ends too, making the mushroom effect. After I wash the hair it will be even worse! The website is stunning and maybe they specialize in keratin and color, but this haircut has left me in tears. I have a wedding in 3 weeks to attend and thinking of not going because of this. Beware if you plan on going for a life changing haircut, it will be just that!

She told me that most of the stylists are not local and only take cash or check. But I could get my hair colored by Carolyn who was local and accepts credit cards. However, Carolyn doesn't cut hair but another woman, Rose, is local and would accept my credit card. I'd have to come on two separate days. The day of my first appointment with Rose, I received a VM from the salon confirming my appointment and reminding me to bring cash or check. I immediately called the salon back. Rose told me that she doesn't accept credit cards and would I like to cancel. I said "yes." Then Carolyn got on the phone and told me it was unprecedented to be canceling the day of the appointment. I said that I did not want to cancel but that I just wanted to pay by credit card and that I was told Rose accepts payment by credit card. Instead of saying there must have been a misunderstanding, Carolyn told me I was not welcome at the salon and cancelled my appointment with her the following week even after confirming that she accepts credit cards. It's my prerogative to choose to pay by credit card and I did everything necessary to accomplish that.
