Found Robb's Salon on Yelp while looking for a trim. I normally grill people I know for suggestions on where to get my haircut, but since I was looking for something simple, I took a chance on the reviews. I made an appointment online with Bella and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed, this place blew me away. Bella gave me exactly what I asked for, and she knew how to give me a style that looks good both curly and straightened. This is huge for me, because the last three times I've gotten my hair cut, I ended up with a style that looked great straight, but too bulky if I dried my hair naturally. Also, Bella blow dried my hair in sections with a round brush. I wanted to do a happy dance right there in the chair, because I can't tell you how many bad blowouts I've had that start with a paddle brush. The atmosphere of the salon was very different from what I'm used to. First, both Robb and Bella were friendly and welcoming...you don't just feel like another face in a chair to them. The salon itself is small, but it's so stylish and cozy, it is easy to just relax. Also, because it's only Robb and Bella, it's much less chaotic and much quieter than other salons I've been to. Honestly, I didn't even know how important that was until my experience at Robb's Salon! I was able to enjoy my "me" time, and talk to Bella without having to shout. First time here and there is not enough nice things I can say about Rob's Salon !! First I will start walking in . Was greeted by Bella who is actually a stylist as well with a big warm welcome . Then Rob who is the owner came over two minutes later to offer me a water . From there it was into the chair for my consultation with Bella . I was a new customer, I made my appointment 3 weeks ago and explained I needed my roots done, I have blond hair. Made appointment with Robb. When I arrived at the salon, Robb and I talked about my hair, I said I would like maybe to go darker as I have been in Florida and the hairdresser there evened out my color. But today I just wanted my roots done ( I waited 3 weeks for this appointment) He told me he did NOT HAVE TIME TO DO MY HAIR!! He had other things to do. I have done my roots with another hairdresser since I got back no problem. I left angry with my roots un done VERY UNPROFESSIONAL DO NOT BOOK THERE!! This place is a hidden gem in Cortlandt Manor. It's easy to pass on 202 but this cute salon is well worth a visit. Bella has cut my hair twice now and is really skilled. After showing her 20+ pics from my pintrest board, she was able to explain to me what they all had in common and recommend the best cut for my hair type that still matched the style I liked.
