Never at a hair salon have I been able to see color booklets to show how the base color and highlight will look together. The salon is clean and really cute, and the stylist was super personable and easy to talk to, and really seemed to understand what I was looking for. I have frizzy/curly hair and its sometimes a challenge for stylists to blow out but she did a great job I was super impressed. I have to say that this is by far the BEST hair color I've ever had!!!!! She was helpful in deciding the best shade of "chocolate brown" for my skin tone which I fully appreciated (I want to know what will look right, of course!), and which color highlight would give the right pop of color I was looking for. She even suggested angles to make it look better. Every single product used in my hair smelled DELIGHTFUL too and not chemical-ly/stinky. I will absolutely be back and referring family members and friends to this salon! I highly recommend :)

I had the owner as my stylist which was nice to have, seeing as many times the owners are too busy with running the business instead of delivering personal attention to clients... especially new clients. Mirella is not only "the owner" but also an expert in the beauty field as she not only had the knowledge of the latest trends with recommended techniques but most importantly she utilized her skills and customized them to your personal needs. I wanted to go blonde again and she reminded me of the seasonal attributes that I should consider and counseled me on my ideal expectations. Together with her expertise and my expectations we came out with an amazing balayage color along with a healthy clean cut, which I was quite impressed with to say the least! In addition, my 12 year old daughter who hates getting her hair cut, left the salon with an enjoyable experience and a cut she really liked that was manageable and facebook worthy! Lol... We will go back and refer them to our closest friends and family for sure!!!

I'm so happy to now something like this exists in the village where you can safely get your hair done without worrying about too many people being inside the salon at the same time. Now let's talk about AZARIA: the hair painting artist. This girl right here is the best thing that has happened to Pawling and to my hair since I moved to New York. This color queen knows her work, she knows exactly what your hair needs and she will make you look like a brand new human when you leave. Her spunky personality reflects on her clientele's work. She's fresh, innovative and up to date with her techniques. You might spend a little extra time in here but it's totally worth it if you want to come out looking the way you want. Don't expect something basic and don't come here for basic. You are going straight to a hair artist. Give her some inspirational images and let her do her thing. I can say I 100% trust my hair to Azaria. She's phenomenal, she's amazing, best part of all, you don't have to have awkward salon-chair talk. Easy to talk to, outgoing and sparkly personality. Love this girl and her amazing work! Went in for a foliage with root smudge and haircut. So happy with my outcome! Also she wears a mask the whole time and no other clients are in there while you're there. Really nice to have just a one on one appointment without having to worry about the rest. Thanks again Azaria. Book with her. Your hair will thank you later!

When I called the King Street Salon to make an appointment I spoke with a woman whose name I…read moreunfortunately forgot. I told her that I prefer to pay by credit card. She told me that most of the stylists are not local and only take cash or check. But I could get my hair colored by Carolyn who was local and accepts credit cards. However, Carolyn doesn't cut hair but another woman, Rose, is local and would accept my credit card. I'd have to come on two separate days. The day of my first appointment with Rose, I received a VM from the salon confirming my appointment and reminding me to bring cash or check. I immediately called the salon back. Rose told me that she doesn't accept credit cards and would I like to cancel. I said "yes." Then Carolyn got on the phone and told me it was unprecedented to be canceling the day of the appointment. I said that I did not want to cancel but that I just wanted to pay by credit card and that I was told Rose accepts payment by credit card. Instead of saying there must have been a misunderstanding, Carolyn told me I was not welcome at the salon and cancelled my appointment with her the following week even after confirming that she accepts credit cards. It's my prerogative to choose to pay by credit card and I did everything necessary to accomplish that. To be told I'm not welcomed in the salon after the salon caused the problem is no way to treat anyone.
