This place is a total shit hole. I went in with a very positive mindset and was patiently waiting for my appointment.. I was speaking with some local moms and there kids and was being very friendly and respectful. This was my first time being in this salon and my family has a lot of well know hairdressers in area.. so I thought this would bean expert to pamper myself and make myself feel good. As it's has been a while since I've gotten my hair done. The hair dresser Sabrina did a terrible job on my hair.. I left that salon with half the amount of hair on my head.. I asked for a balayage that can be done in one session as I have don't that on myself before in a couple hours.. trusting professionals I though this would come out even better and I could wear my real hair!! But now I'm having to still wear protective hair styles as my hair grows out. .. mind you I've been growing out my hair for years and I was mortified with this salon experience. She didn't not rinse the foils out in spctions cause if uneven lift.. she also didn't press foils down so some of my hair wasn't even touching bleach that's why is all spotty in photos below.. she didn't put my hair under dryer until the last 10 minutes of processing for some reason.. she was Mia in the back mixing toner for 20 minutes while I sat at the sink as the hair washer with multicolor hair ripped the foils out my hair brushed me with a comb and tried to wash the bleach out with hot water which is a big no no..she was also spraying water down my whole side.. like this place is a gossip shit hole and thanks for making me feel like shit. After going here consistently for YEARS now, I just upgraded them to the coveted 5-star rating! I should have done this a couple of years ago. LOVE this place. My 'only' complaint is that you should be allowed to leave a tip on a debit/credit card charge. Other than that, there is no better salon in the area and I've strayed a few times to check out newcomers, but am solely dedicated to Image Salon (or Snips of Putnam) or whatever the heck name they go by. read more

I've been going to Image Salon for many years now. It's like walking into a room full of my sisters. I'm a woman going through some hair loss -not due to Covid and I called Maia crying, my doctor told me minoxidil. Maia took the initiative and contacted a representative and came up with a product much better than Minoxidil for my hair loss. I am forever thankful to her. I see some new growth. There are times when I decided to trim my bangs a little (we are all guilty of that) I would run in and say please fix me. Image salon- The best haircuts, the best washes- oh so relaxing and very well priced. I've never had a bad experience there. The prices at this salon are extremely reasonable and the stylists do a wonderful job. Dana is amazing at everything she does. She has cut, blown out and colored my hair and I've seen her up-dos; She really knows her stuff! She is very up to date with the latest trends as well. Great staff! My child is frightened of getting his hair cut. He's screamed while getting it done there many times. We have had 3-4 different hair stylists cut it and all are very professional, friendly, and completely sensitive to my sons phobia. My son has gotten so much better over the past 2 years about this (not great but doesn't scream as much now, thank goodness) and I credit the staff for helping to ease his fears. They have a children's room with 3 chairs (one is a car, one an animal and one normal chair). TV and toys to occupy them as they wait. As well as a video game. And the prices are really reasonable! I have a lady I've been going to for years at another place but if she ever moved or retired I'd come here for myself. Highly recommend! read more

Based on a personal recommendation from a local friend, I went to Image Salon for a cut and color. The staff was friendly, the salon was clean and the stylist (Dana) listened carefully to the details of what I wanted for my haircut. I was quite pleased with the outcome. More recently I requested an appointment on short notice, so I had to see a different stylist. I was scheduled with Kayla and she did an amazing job on my cut and color. It's nice to know there are at least two wonderful talented stylists at my local salon. read more

I was a client, but since they relocated from the strip mall where the mahopac bank is to where the old hardware store use to be I had to find a new place. They have been at this new location for almost a year and they still aren't done with the interior. Have extension cords with light bulbs hanging off for lighting for the stations in the back. The owners station is all nice nice but go toward the back and not so nice. I can't understand how the building dept. even aloud for the place to open. I can go on about the appearance of the place but I'd be here to long to mention it all. Mia the owner seems to only care about herself. You just don't feel very comfortable while you are there. read more

I would only suggest this salon to someone who wants a half-a**ed job done to their hair. I have been here twice and both stylists I saw were rude. One of them completely ignored me while I was in her chair for a haircut and she messed up my bangs, which only needed a simple trim. They don't even look the same anymore. I had them angled and now they are completely blunt and straight! The other woman I saw only did half of the dye job I wanted. After I explained what I wanted to her, she explained it to the receptionist too (what I said, word for word) because the receptionist was interested in what I was having done (two-tone hair color). After part one of the color job, I had to get my hair washed. And the girl who washes hair there is awful as well. When she put the towel on my head, she barely dried it, which left the back of my neck and shirt wet. I had to sit in the chair for a half hour as well, because the woman who was coloring my hair took another appointment to cut someone else's hair. After seeing that customer's hair, I started to feel cheated and singled out. When I FINALLY returned to the stylist's chair for the second part of my dye job, she just blow dried the wet part of my hair and left it damp and "styled" my hair. Then she turned my chair around and asked how I liked it. I asked her about finishing my hair and she said I should make an appointment with her to come back for her to complete it. Frustrated, I paid and did not tip. And I left and now I am writing this review. Bottom line: Awful people work here and they will treat you and your hair like dirt. Also, even though they are pretty cheap, so is the quality of "work" that they do. read more

Very disappointed in their customer service. Unless you're a friend of someone working there you get ignored and treated poorly. Staff stands around talking to each other while ignoring customers. The only exception is when you go to pay at front desk. Stylist followed me and stared at me while I settled up my bill; she was clearly waiting for her tip. So awkward and so rude! I went in and asked for a hair cut and Ombre' in my hair and walked out with a half ass hair cut and blonde highlights covering half of my head!!!! My hair basically felt like straw when I was leaving because my hair stylist bleached half of my hair blonde when I specifically told her that I wanted carmel brown colored Ombre' and even showed her multiple pictures of exactly what I wanted done. I ended up paying 160 to have someone destory my hair. I went to another hair salon days later and ended up having to pay hundereds for conditioning treatments to repair the damage done and to get my hair completely redone. Angry is an understatment of how I feel about the job done at Image Salon. I would not recomend it to anyone unless they are okay wih getting the complete opposite of what you asked for and your hair to be ruined by someone who clearly doesn't have a clue what they are doing. read more
