We got there at 630 to find out we only had until 730pm to do the tour. Furthermore, we were told only 5 homes were open on the night of our tour, and that only *2* of them were actually walking distance, in opposite directions. We had driven around for 20 minutes looking for parking for our group with 2 cars and 3 strollers, so there was no chance we were going to be able to load up to drive to another home, because the starting point was in Cape May Proper on the Washington Mall. The first house we went to was not Victorian, it was very very modern and newly redone, and decorated for the NBA because the owner became an NBA player, which was great- but not festive in the least. At that point we didn't have time to trek the opposite direction for house #2. The entire trip was a bust. We came to town for this tour which was advertised as walking tour of Cape May *Victorian* homes decorated for Christmas. We got none of the things advertised and paid $350 for the 8 tickets. The worst part is when I called to explain the chain of unfortunate events, saying 4 of us will definitely try another tour in the future but that this was not what we paid for, the director of MAC events, Janice, argued on the phone with me for 5 minutes over and over again. I kept explaining our experience above and she just kept arguing about what the tour is supposed to be- not what we received. I said we need a refund in order to give future tours a try. She finally relented and agreed to a refund, and when I thanked her she hung up on me- clearly a reflection of how they value the customer experience at MAC. Regardless of her unprofessional behavior, we will give a different tour another try. We will definitely be cautious in trying future tours but would never recommend the Christmas walking tour one to anyone.

We decided to devote one day to being 'touristy' in CM & spent a Sunday in July checking out all…read morethe local places. This trolley tour did not disappoint at all! The guide was extremely knowledgeable & kudos to the driver, CM is rich in history & there were plenty of great stories told. We took the basic show us all around CM tour & tell us about the homes & characters that lived here many moons ago. The homes are really gorgeous to look at & since this was only day 2 of our vaca we could appreciate it all the more later on during the week while walking. A thoroughly enjoyable way to learn the history of CM, highly recommend & reasonable price per ticket.

The prices are really good and we were able to select our frame, which is included in the price. We received a discount off the already sale price for being new customers. CP, the manager, was very warm and welcoming. He was personable and took the time to get to know us, asked our names, where we were from, etc. He was very helpful in showing us different sizes, frame styles and other similar paintings that we may like. I highly recommend stopping into the Cape May Art Gallery for an enjoyable browsing or shopping experience. Say hi to CP!

I didn't have a great experience and honestly feel the need to warn people about this product. If…read moreyou stroll down the mall there are other art galleries, with similar sized originals and prints going for quite literally 100x more than the items here. A cautious shopper should wonder why that is. Upon entering, I noticed that these items appeared mass produced, as if a shop in China just cranked them out. Look closely and you'll see the same barn and silo over and over, with simply different color schemes and seasons around it. I asked the salesperson "Where do your artists come from? Are they local?" And she replied "oh they're from all over." Interesting... vague... so I pointed to a piece "Can you tell me about this artist?" and she replied "I think my brother-in-law painted that one." A joke? But again a curious deflection. Reading these Yelp reviews makes me raise my eyebrow even higher. "50%-70% off" seems to be an ongoing, continuous sale for the past 5+ years. One reviewer pointed out that she received an additional discount for being a new customer. Another for being a return customer. This isn't art. This is tacky. Ask any artist. Stroll down the mall into the other galleries and see what real art looks like, and how real galleries interact with customers. The goal of Cape May Art Gallery is in volume - to get people to buy as much of this faux art as possible to make a profit. That being said, people are comfortable decorating their walls with art from Home Goods and Marshall's, and that's fine. Just know that it's a similar quality here, despite being originals. If it seems too good to be true...
