He shared with us the story of the monkey and how he would repeatedly draw fan paintings. It was a fascinating tale. We loved looking at all the artwork and had a laugh at several of them. However, I had to stand in a long line to purchase drink tickets even though I wasn't really sure what I was going to drink. I didn't find this to be a good system, and others around me in line seemed to agree. Additionally, there were several food trucks featuring BBQ, burgers, and hotdogs as well as sweets. Places to sit were limited, so it may be helpful to bring chairs or a blanket. There was also a variety of merchandise vendors along with two different live bands, neither of which appealed to me but seemed popular. Parking is limited, so we had to park about 4-5 blocks away.

Walked out into the cool night feeling elated and went to Uncle Charley's Ice Cream for a great ending to the perfect Cape May day trip.

Set in a World War II era hangar, the museum has over 25 historic plans, jets, helicopters, exhibits, artifacts, and more! It also memorializes the 42 naval aviators who died while training at this facility. The museum is pet friendly and dogs must be on a leash. A really cool thing to do is to go inside some of the planes and sit in the cockpit! We met a staff member, Bethany, who was fun to talk to about the museum and its features. This is a great spot to visit any day, and especially when the weather is not cooperating, since it is all indoors. Parking is free and be sure to get a puppy potty break in before entering the museum. Thank you to all Veterans! I hate that I can't recall her name but she was fantastic at explaining the history & evolution of HT & all the others that were involved. She even offered to chat up with folks well after the museum close time had passed. I love my huge massive MET museum but can feel the history in these smaller places that NEED to remain open. So much history here -- bravo to all that helped to preserve this HT museum. Walked out nearly 90 mins later utterly in love!
