Neat little spot on Ocean Avenue in Wildwood that will tickle your fancy if you like doo-wop,…read morevintage furniture, or things off the beaten path. It is somewhat of a hidden gem, and you may need to drive or walk around a bit to find it. It consists of one building filled with memorabilia and signs from the doo-wop era of the city. It was free when we visited (June 2025) and is more of a quick pitstop than an event or experience that will take hours. We must have spent maximum 30 minutes there. Great way to see something different than typical beach town activities, like mini-golf and beach bumming. Perfect way to pass some time on a rainy day, like it was during our trip.

I've been coming to this gift shop since I was little. Today when entering with my tiny dog ,…read moretotally enclosed in a stroller, I was told by the old woman that is usually at the cash register, and has been for years, that I couldn't come in with the stroller. Sane said "no pets". I told her that my dog would not be out of the stroller and she said I couldn't come in. Really? In this day and age? Not nice and lost business and future business from not only me, but my family and now friends that may want to go. This woman has always been cold but this takes the cake! I'm saddened that this will now be an end of an era for many. Poor customer relations from this business.

I note there are 2 listings here for Sunset Beach - this one being for the shops located here…read more.. Sunset Beach is a must-visit every time I go to the Jersey Cape - have watched the ship off shore slowly be reclaimed by the elements. It has also been interesting to watch the little shops slowly expand and update from year to year - now featuring plenty (usually) of parking, a mini golf course, a small but nice restaurant, nearby concrete WWII tower converted to a museum, etc. I have noticed that the Cape May Diamonds® are thinning out a bit compared to the late 70s, but there are still plenty to find - which makes this a great location to take the kids & the great thing is you don't have to spend a dime if you don't want to. Also, there is a reason for the name - great location to watch sunsets out over the bay! Highly recommended!

Took a day trip specifically to check out the Peter Max exhibit at this Stone Harbor gallery…read more Although the hours stated they were open at 10 a.m. and we arrived close to 11 the doors were locked. Thankfully I did see people inside so I called the gallery and the woman was nice enough to let us in. It was the last day of the Peter Max exhibit so many of the works had been sold but there were still a few on display. What most impressed me however was the rest of the art in the gallery. They had some absolutely gorgeous glass pieces! It was unfortunate I did not get to the gallery sooner for Peter Max art but I am very happy I saw what I did.

Also nice is the fact that you can get close (sometimes even inside) to the displays, as compared to some of the larger museums. A lot of local history and the NAS's contribution during WWII. There is also a cool little gift shop at the end (isn't there always) where you can pick up memorabilia. I would plan on spending an hour or so minimum - more if your really want to dig in to the displays & videos available. Great for the family & history/aviation buffs. PS - if you're there earlier in the day - check out the Flight Deck Diner for some good comfort food and displays of patches/aircraft models..

You would have thought we walked in at 8:59 with 12 people, really inconvenienced the guy behind the counter apparently. There are so many rooms and we made a comment, "oh another room let's look in here," and heard the guy audibly sigh so we took that as a sign to just get out. 8:42. Saw just the front walk in and one room. While inside the guy took down the yellow flag while outside while we were still browsing and came back in - basically followed us out the door and locked it immediately. Crazy way to treat customers, wouldn't recommend this place.
