HOLY SH*T. These may possibly be the best old fashioned donuts we've ever had. They were made to order and super fresh, warm and not overly greasy - especially for being fried up as we were waiting. The flavors were really outstanding. We loved that the strawberry had real strawberry pieces vs. strawberry flavoring. The blueberry was also outstanding! Fresh out the fryer, the chocolate delivers rich cocoa flavor with that melting sugary bliss of just barely held together fried dough. DANG! Plus, in homage to infamous donut hole, they'll slap around ten fried gobs of candy coated goodness into a "bag of nuggets" for $2 - perfect for kiddos! Because you know the adults be eatin' the bigguns. We found them at a socially distanced outdoor event (Gardens Aglow at Heritage Gardens, Sandwich), and everyone was wearing gloves and a mask. Great selection of donuts, we got a few: blueberry, chocolate and old fashioned. These are fry cakes for those that may not know. They were very tasty, and freshly made...you can tell. I found them to be a bit on the oily side compared to other fry cakes I've had, but they were still very tasty. The staff was very friendly, even gave me and my daughter some donut bites to snack on while we waited for the fritter I ordered to be FRESHLY prepared. They had coffee (no decaf) which was French press and excellent. Worth stopping by. Oh and in the parking lot near where their food truck was located they have some bunnies and goldfish. read more

My family stopped by a few weeks ago on a chilly morning to start our day with some fresh donuts -- and we were not disappointed! We tried: Apple Cider, Cranberry, Glazed, and Chocolate. My favorite was the Chocolate as the consistency was rich and cake-y, with a light sugary glaze on top. It was the perfect amount of sweetness with a decadent cocoa flavor. The Cranberry was my second favorite, as it was cakey with sweet caramelized cranberries in every bite. The Apple Cider Donut was dusted in a coat of sugar and had a moist, dense, cidery inside. Second time having these donuts and they are absolutely delicious cake-style donuts. I've had the chocolate and apple cider donuts and the apple fritters. Both apple varieties were delicious; I would get the chocolate again but either of the apple would be my first choice. They are a little spendy but worth it if you are a breakfast person or have a sweet tooth; be aware that these are made fresh from a truck and there's nowhere to eat them on site. Really wanted to like this place. Good luck putting an order in at window. If older lady is working it's pretty good she takes order and gets things rolling. If you pull up and see a couple young kids working the truck just keep driving and go somewhere else. Literally you can stand at window clap hands blow an air horn and they won't even look at you to take your order. Owner of this place is losing serious cash when people decide to turn around and leave. Good donuts but not worth the frustration. They change hours like daily too so you never really know when it's open. Coffee sometimes you order at truck other times it's at ice cream window too the left and sometimes they have no coffee. No consistency at all in this business it's sad could be something great read more

This is a review of Cape Cod Donuts' new location in Sandwich next to the Off The Grid Food Truck. The business operates out of a trailer and they share a nice outdoor area with picnic tables, with Off The Grid. They offer tasty and freshly made donuts served still warm. They might be a bit overpriced at $1.75 each, but they are good for an occasional treat. I was disappointed to see a man working inside the trailer handling the donuts with his bare hands. I've been in enough public bathrooms to see that many people don't do a good job washing their hands. I believe it's also a health code violation to handle food in that manner. read more
