I brought my car in because it was making the most awful noise, second to my wife's screeching and nagging for comparison, and I dropped it off. Within 35 minutes, Doug called me to let me know everything that was wrong with my beloved chariot. He was completely honest and didn't surprise me with anything I didn't already know as I had already taken my car to another shop here in town. You know what? Doug beat that other guy's price by almost half! Hi-Way's been around for years and I can understand the 700+ 5-star reviews online. Doug is honest about the pricing, the labor involved, how soon he'd be able to get the car done, etc. and I never once felt like he or his wonderful team were trying to take advantage of me or my hard-earned dollar. Doug was also able to point out things I didn't need, unlike that the other mechanic told me I definitely had to get done, just to milk me for extra cash. Doug and to the Hi-Way Muffler team, thank you for your honesty, your professionalism, your positivity, and for top notch work! My car purrs like a kitten now all thanks to you!!! We were traveling through Louisville this weekend for a little getaway when we noticed our brakes…read moreunresponsive and a burning smell coming from under the hood. More than a little alarmed, we pulled into the nearest auto shop and were told that 1) they didn't work on weekends, 2) The cost of repairing my drivers side brakes would be $600 for rotors, pads, and hoses on one side, and 3) they couldn't get to it before closing. As we were in Louisville for such a short time, we needed to get our brakes done fast, and preferably for less. By chance we happened upon Coric, pulled in, and after looking at the car, quoted us at $360 (for both drivers-side and passengers-side), and rather than having to leave it over night, said that he'd have it done in an hour to an hour-and-a-half. He was true to his word, and after about an hour-and-a-half, we had our car back, good to go, for about a quarter of the price and a fraction of the time. Coric really came through for us in a pinch, and we're really thankful for his honesty, skill, and hard work.

When I got it back, it was missing motor mount bolts( which he said were already missing, they were not !) about day 2of getting it back, my car started knocking. I called and talked to him and he suggested that I drive it back up there and let him check it out for an additional charge. I had already paid 1000 over what was told to me ( without asking first) for other things that needed to be changed out and 1 part was changed out ( supposedly) but was definitely not a new one that I supposedly paid for. After paying a total of $1,711.84, the problem always returned within days (3 days, then 14 days, then less than 24 hours). They also lied about dates and claimed the car came in for "three different problems," which is completely false -- it was the same issue every time. Their invoices lacked detail, and they ignored the written list of symptoms I left in the car. The second shop I went to finally fixed the issue and provided detailed notes showing what should have been done the first time. When I filed a complaint, Jay Barker's Auto Repair even claimed they "did not know" I was having these issues, which makes no sense since their own receipts list "Engine Power Reduced." After three failed repairs and misleading statements, I refused to return -- three strikes and you're out.
