So disappointed with the new owners. Raised the prices but did nothing to improve the place. It was clean but falling apart from the shower starting to separate from the wall, to the pipes screeching when using it, sink stopper broken, buzzing fridge, broken TV, people working on their cars in the parking at 9am, the room next to the laundry room noisy with the washers and dryers plus housekeeping talking loudly and rolling out their carts.​ I have been coming here for years but this was my last time. For a bit more, I can stay in a newer, safer, more reliable place downtown. read more

I've been staying there for many years and have had good experiences. New owners are very different. I recently had a reservation, but cancelled it well within the 48 hour limit. Called the next day (past the 48 hour limit) and was told that the reservation had not been cancelled and my credit card was charged and not refundable! No leeway. The new owners are difficult to communicate with (marginal English) and Cap Sante Inn is not the same it used to be. Very bad experience. Plenty of other places to stay in Anacortes. read more

If you are looking for an icky, unkept, outdated and dirty, roadside motel with a hostile staff then this is the place for you. We left after one night for cleaner amenities in the same area. read more

Quick little story: My hubby and I were traveling from Friday Harbor back home to Vashon, and our car started overheating due to a fan belt failure on our alternator. We had the car towed to a local repair shop in Anacortes, and booked this hotel for the night since our car wouldn't be ready until the next afternoon. After the taxi dropped us off and I got us checked in, I noticed a sign on the door indicating if we wanted a late checkout (after 11 am) to work it out with the front desk. So I walked over and inquired about how to get a late checkout...the lady who had checked us in mentioned we could pay an extra $50 and extend into the afternoon if we wanted to arrange that. She made it seem like we could get that done at any point before the 11 am checkout, so I decided to wait until the next morning to arrange it. The next morning, I went back to the front desk and spoke to a young man who was working reception. I asked for late checkout and he said the very latest they could accommodate was 11:30 am. I told him the offer that was made by his coworker the previous afternoon, and he said he needed to talk to management about a 2 pm checkout I was requesting. We both waited on hold with management for at least 10 minutes until I went back to my room and said I would return shortly. When I came back, the employee told me the manager said no and that, "no one ever said that to you" (referring to the $50 offer to extend our stay for a few more hours). I was aghast and asked for clarification, and he repeated himself and the comment from the manager. I said, "your coworker, the girl working the front desk yesterday afternoon. She made that offer to me. Are you saying I made this up? You have cameras in here - run the tape and see for yourself." He said he didn't know who the girl was who worked yesterday (weird) and again said no such offer was made, per the manager. I quickly realized I was getting nowhere fast in this negotiation, so I resigned myself to our checking out at 11:30 am with no place to conduct work calls and no mode of transportation. And don't even get me started about the accommodation itself...there is no A/C, bed covers are ripped, the 'marina view' is literally just a window opening up to a busy road with loud traffic all hours of the day/night. We certainly weren't expecting a 5 star stay with a house car, but a little human decency, mutual respect, and basic customer service like not calling me a liar in so many words would have gone a long way. Only bright spot is the housekeeping staff seem very lovely, especially the Latvian lady. Do NOT recommend. read more

So it's a "cheap Motel." Based on other reviews seems like owners don't really care about yelp reviews. So far my experience is they are somewhat helpful and responsive. I stayed here for the first time may 2024, and here I am again 12 months later. It seems mostly the same, except that I have this feeling that it has changed ownership,. There's no room service and the office hours seem to be limited compared to last year. It is what it is. Lower your expectations and it's fine. Customer service is absolutely abysmal! I made a last minute reservation with Expedia and put the wrong date. Within 2 minutes I realized what I had done and tried to get it fixed. The refused the waiver and hung up on expedia customer service. I know it's a grungy little motel but the location and price is why I have stayed there in the past but never again. They're just greedy as my mistake would have costed them nothing to fix but they chose the low road. Shame on you Cap Sante Inn! read more

I booked an ADA room, due to double knee replacement. I got there early, at 1:30 pm the same day. Turns out it is a pet friendly room and very stinky. I was offered a room upstairs, but the knees are still healing. No AC with 80 degrees in the room.I returned to the front desk, returned the key, and asked for a refund. I went to another place. My card was still charged on 7/19. I ended up paying twice for the same night. Be careful! Don't be like me! read more

Called twice to book a room. First time I was told that they were too busy to help me, for me to call them back later. As a career customer service professional this was not acceptable. I asked if she could take my name and number and call me back when she had time. Her response was "I can't guarantee that I'll have time to call you back". I waited 24 hours to make a return call. Response this time was "I'm busy checking someone in, you can call me back in 15 minutes. I told her to "have a nice day", and hung up. Called the "Marina Inn" and secured a King room on the ground floor with an AARP discount in a quick, friendly and professional manner. read more

Ok I have stayed at thousands of hotels in my life. Being an over the road trucker, my husband and I live in the truck. Some people won't agree with my 5 Star review but this place is a little different. Yes... The rooms are very dated They have real keys to the rooms, I have not had a room key in 20 years. The thermostat is older than me (I'm 55) The Bedding looks like a bedspread that Marcia Brady had..... BUT...they get three stars just because of Murray. This Greyhound rescue is cuter than all my kids and he gave me kiss, which my kids don't want to do anymore (they are at that age). The other 2 stars come from Pam, who is the housekeeper and so sweet. The rooms are dated but super super clean. I mean super clean. The location is perfect. I don't know where they got their towels from but they were so soft I actually wanted to take them. I always wondered why people would want to take a hotel towel......well these towel were very jackable. They took the time to give up a map and show us things on the map and suggest places we should go. The suggestions were spot on. Five stars are not just about amenities and spa like décor, it's about customer service, great people that enjoy what they are doing. It's about people that make you feel at home when you are not, it's about being able to love on Murray when you miss your own dog. I have Never received all of this from what society view as a 5 star. I you ever find yourself in Anacortes this is the place to stay. read more

An excellent location for me to spend a couple of days wandering and checking out 'the vibe' in Anacortes...Clean room, VERY reasonable price for the dog and me, enjoyed having coffee in the afternoon available, friendly staff(then again, it seems everyone in the town is friendly!). I really appreciated having the microwave and fridge and the clock radio in the room. I'll be back when it's time to look for a house to buy and settle into!! read more

They had a room. That was the major qualifying feature. They also had a catapiller on the bed. Fleas on the floor, spider on the ceiling and dog hair all over the blankets. So don't come here if you want luxury. read more

This place is ALL about the location... Walking distance to the waterfront and excellent restaurants, bars and shopping. Convenient distance to many scenic drives and nature hikes. Downtown location, helpful staff, and a resourceful visitor center just a few doors away turned our initial 1-day visit into a fun 3-day vacation. This waterside two story Inn and Annex ( across the street) is tired and you'll notice shoddy repair jobs but it has the basics; reliant free wifi, a king size bed, pillow selection, good shower pressure, small frig, microwave, table with 2 chairs, desk with chair, and did I mention location?!?! Most disappointing was the TV and the power outlets. The TV was grainy and often lost cable reception (probably the provider's fault) and most of the outlet sockets were not strong enough to hold our phone or computer chargers. Given the limited accommodation options in this popular area, the Cap Sante Inn will continue to be my lodging of choice. read more

I absolutely hate to write this review because the office staff were super nice and very helpful. Makes me feel bad to write a review that is not completely favorable. Check in was easy and we were given an actual key! We signed the papers we were given acknowledging check out time. The website indicated 'BREAKFAST INCLUDED". I asked "where do we go for breakfast?" She said, right behind you. There was a basket of granola bars and peanut butter crackers next to the coffee maker. Apparently, this is breakfast. Not what we were expecting. Granted we were not expecting bacon and eggs but maybe some cereal or muffins? Anyway, we trekked to our room upstairs. I opened the door and the heat hit me like a ton of bricks. I looked to my right and on the table was a box fan. No A/C ! The room was not advertised as such but I figured it would have A/C. My own fault for not checking. When it is 85 degrees outside it is much hotter inside and the rooms were stifling. We put the fan in the window when we went to sleep hoping for it to cool the room but it did not. Pretty miserable. We actually left the window open all night long, something we would normally never do. Nice TV but would be nicer if it were on a higher stand, it was below the level of the bed. Now I have to say that the room was clean. Very clean. Except for the windows. Could not see out of them. Bathroom towels were NOT like sand paper ! Yay. Soft. Shower was good with plenty of hot water. This helped to make up for the old, outdated room. Beds, bedspread, telephone, dressers, carpet. Everything. If you are just looking for a place to sleep this is okay. Very close walking distance to the marina and all of downtown. If you want anything more, this is not for you. read more

I always have a great stay here. I come to town on business 4 or 5 times a year.Yes, it is definitely dated, really dated, but the rooms are clean and owner's are very friendly as well as staff. Most of all the price is right. If you want more ambiance there are other places that cost a lot more. Location, location, location. So close to everything and right downtown. We stayed here for a little last minute trip to Anacortes, and were pleasantly surprised. Cute, cozy downtown hotel- spacious rooms, pet friendly! (Dog park right down the street!) Very nice staff, and we had a beautiful view of the harbor. I slept like a rock. There were people staying right next to us, couldn't hear them at all. I would definitely stay here again. Only cons are that wifi is a little spotty, and outlets a little loose. Not a deal breaker though. I loved the feel of the room, the whole place- it was very spacious and cozy, and unique in a great way. read more

My husband reserved a room for 3 days and 2 nights. He arrived late in the evening. Inside the closet was a dirty NASTY smelling sock, in the bathroom there was mold and the shower was dirty and covered in pubic hair. He told the manager and got moved to another room the NEXT day. His last day there he got off the water at noon. He called and asked the manager to comp him 4 or 5 hours till he could catch his 6:00 boat off the island. The manager said "Of Course". Once my husband got there the manager looked at him and said No. I demanded to know why. Why, after he said he would. His response was that they would have to call a housekeeper back into work after my husband left. Oh? You mean one of your housekeepers that "cleaned" the filthy room to begin with? They were rude and dismissive. We will NEVER stay there again. After sharing my story I heard of 2 incidents with bed bugs, also rooms not comped. Bad business and deplorable cleaning, especially during these tumultuous times of Covid-19. Disgusted. read more

Great place to stay! My folks and I had a two bedroom suite for a nominal price. I was amazed by the size of the rooms, and kept finding surprises such as a large supply of towels and extra pillows in the drawers. Very clean rooms and bathroom and friendly staff. Also our suite had three sinks, which made bathroom duties very convenient. The refrigerator and microwave was an added plus. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else for my next trip to Anacortes. read more

Nice place to stay! Not too expensive but not sketchy. Easy walking distance to restaurants so we were able to go have a couple of drinks and not worry about driving home. Also, it's only a couple of blocks away from the Safeway so we were able to get supplies as needed. The front desk service was always friendly... they even had a corkscrew for our non-screw-top wine. I think this was a major contributing factor to us enjoying our weekend getaway so much! read more

This business deserves ZERO stars. I have NEVER been so dissatisfied in a place, as I have been of this one. I have stayed here once before and was treated rudely. I had made the reservation just under ONE YEAR in advance as to make certain to have the room I wanted next to family. I confirmed the week before and was told I was confirmed with my reservations and my request was met. When I arrived, this was not the case. They had moved my room away from my family because "someone in 'my room' decided to extend their stay". This is not my problem. The blonde was rude and very unhelpful. No discount was given and I had no option but to stay there as all other places were booked. No air conditioning. Mold in the bathrooms. No ventilation. Musky-Mold smell in the rooms. I gave the place a second chance mainly due to location. This time 4 separate rooms with 4 separate couples/families stayed. Again, BLACK mold bathrooms. All the same issues as before. I cracked a joke when I entered about wondering if there was a group discount (knowing full well they would say no due to my past experience), being in a good humored mood and hopeful maybe something changed. You ever know unless you ask. The blonde woman again was straight faced and in a very curt tone replied we don't do that. I did not ask any more for the duration of my stay as I wanted to stay in good spirits and know they wouldn't provide. On the day of check out, my Grandfather (who was staying in a completely separate room) took 3-1 gallon bags to fill with ice for me. He came back with 2 - 1/2 filled bags and replied this place is incredibly stingy. About 10 minutes later I go to get ice, not knowing their "ice room" is locked because they keep it behind the front desk. I have never needed to get ice before, both times I had stayed. I enter the main desk and ask the man behind the counter (who I am pretty sure is the owner) for some ice. He responds "your father already came and got some ice". I said that's fine, I would like my own bag of ice and asked him to fill it all the way up. He returns with barely 1/2 a bag. I ask him for more. He asks me if I am filling up my cooler. (It is none of his business what I am doing with the ice, I am a paying customer). I said it is for some of it, yes. He replied they don't fill up coolers of ice and returned with maybe 1/2 cup to 1 cup more max, of ice in the bag. I then responded to him that the man he gave ice to, previously and I, are in two completely separate rooms. That I am a paying customer who has stayed for multiple nights and had NO ICE any of those times. The fact that he would be so stingy with his ice is completely ridiculous and it is something I would expect more from a hotel that cost me $25 a night, not $105+tax. I told him it doesn't matter what I do with my ice. I have a toddler, am pregnant and need to fill up my water bottles. I also informed him of 4 different rooms that had been rented and no one will ever return to this place again. My Grandmother and Grandfather also had a negative experience, one of which, when they asked for an additional cot (and even offered to pay an additional fee) when checking in, the woman responded, again very curtly, we don't do that! And turned her back on my Grandmother. My Grandmother said that they had better service when staying at a $5.00/night B&B in Europe. She wanted to add they also got one tub of ice in a 3 night stay at Cap Santy Inn. My Grandfather was woken up at 10:30 PM to come and get some stuff that they were holding in the office. They were told they would hold these items until the following day as they "were NOT in the way". I am just so appalled that this establishment could still be up and running with such "great customer service and being so up to code". NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY HERE and I will make sure friends and family are aware of this place when looking for a room in Anacortes. read more

Friendly staff. Awful room: dingy, street-noise noisy, and too hot. The thermostat appeared not to function and opening a window for cooling air resulted in too much noise. Completely disagree with the other reviews. I stayed here because it was "close to downtown" but keep in mind, the town is small - I changed my reservation at a nicer and less expensive place on 17th, much to my regret. I stayed at Cap Sante Inn in August 2013. Thought it would be nice so close to town and a short bus ride to ferry, as we were not driving. Not so - 100 for the room for two! No breakfast except a "bar" and some coffee. The ferry leaves at 8:30, so, unless you are speedy no way you can take advantage of this offer. Better go to Starbucks at the Safeway 2 blocks away. Room was clean, but the blankets, towels, etc. probably not replaced since the 70s. There was a hole in the bathroom door, the screen outside the window was torn and tattered, the double-paned window was full of mold and you couldn't see out of it. The door to the room was dirty. The lamp by the bed didn't work. I thought it way overpriced - not even as good as a Motel 6. Whoever owns and runs it should be ashamed to charge so much and offer so little. If it had been inexpensive I would not have written this review. But for 100 a night plus tax, it seemed an insult. I would rather sleep on the ground than go back to this place at that price. One positive - the woman at the front desk was very helpful and happy to provide information we needed as far as informing us there was a bus we could take to the terminal. read more
