He made sure the job started and completed with the dates given months prior. The clean up was excellent as there was no dust lingering in our home when we returned. Donald is a passionate man with a lot of years of experience and he is one of the best refinishers in WNY. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience working with him. He refinished my floors and reglazed/cleaned up a really decrepit bathroom, which the previous homeowner left covered in literal crap and feces. He did all this within a day of the time he said he would, so his craftsman and quality of work are a solid 4.5-stars. He can literally transform your old tiles in your bathroom and make them look brand new with a different color saving you money from ripping your tiles out and installing new ones. He can do one of the best floor jobs in the area as far as sanding goes, although not without imperfections (but he would probably be upset at you if you pointed them out). However, our relationship fell apart when at the end of the job he asked for $450 more than what he quoted on paper because of the excellent work he did. He claimed he would be "really disappointed" if he didn't get paid that extra $450 and practically tried to emotionally bully me into doing so, going as far as threatening not to work on another project for my wife that he already previously discussed with her. I ended up paying him $300 over the quote and I don't even think he was happy about that. Not once throughout the job did he call and say it would be more. We did talk about some extras like some simple shoe molding, but he said it wouldn't be more than "300 max" and then asked for 450 more without putting the shoe molding on (because I told him not to at the beginning of the job). I think we had a misunderstanding and miscommunication, because when I told him not to put the shoe molding in--I assumed that the job would cost the amount he quoted on paper. I wouldn't have minded paying him if he communicated throughout the job that it would be extra to put some transitional pieces of wood in. To his credit, he did put a super nice transitional piece of beautiful wood to cover the transition from tile to staircase and did an incredible job with it and the pieces from staircase to living room. Those were honestly worth the extra $$$, but it's just the lack of communication that had me upset and then the unwillingness to listen to the customer. He went as far as hanging up on me when I tried to discuss it with him. So overall, if you can put up with a temperamental artist - Donald is your man because he does beautiful work, but he's not that great at the customer-facing side of the business.

The way they masked off everything surrounding the tubs was most impressive. Don promised that the non-slip bottom surfaces of the tubs would not be gritty or scratchy and he was true to his word. I had the unfortunate experience of hiring this company for lawn mowing, snowplowing and fixing up…read moremy landscaping beds. I was very disappointed in their quality of work and professionalism. In my opinion it was a very bad experience. They were supposed to trim all my bushes and trees. They forgot to trim several of them and the others were done haphazardly. They ripped out flowers that were perennials because they thought they were weeds. Many areas were missing weed barrier, even though it was in the contract. The company admitted that the job needed more mulch, but because they underbid the job and was losing money, they would not provide any more mulch. They also admitted that their workers were new and not properly trained. In my opinion they harassed us for more money because they could not estimate the job properly. The owner continously told us of a toll bill for $1800 he owed to gain our sympathy. The owner assured us that he had arborists working for him but this statement appears to be false looking at the completed project. For snowplowing, they had to be constantly called and asked when they were coming out. The company provided an expired certificate of insurance to trick me into signing a contract. They tried to tell me that a car insurance certificate would be just as good. I have a copy of the car insurance certificate the company gave me. This company has had numerous people complain about their snowplowing service, but they delete all of their negative comments and 1 star reviews off of their social media pages. This company was hired by my elderly neighbor to cut her grass. She is 90 years old and has a hard time seeing and hearing. She paid them a lot of money. They rarely show up to cut her grass. They never even provided her with a receipt for her money or a contract. Her family had to get involved to help her. They refused to bag the grass clippings after they cut my lawn even though the contract stated they would. The grass looked atrocious with all the loose grass on it. The company canceled my contract and wanted to give it to his friend. He was going to pay him a fraction of what I paid him and keep the rest for himself. The pictures submitted with this review is how this company actually left my lawn. When I explained to them that is was unacceptable they proceeded to cancel my grasscutting contract. Most businesses when they get negative reviews they get upset and do everything in their power to have the reviews removed. Instead businesses should look at the negative reviews as a learning tool to improve their business and their employees. People really do not want to put down local businesses but they most certainly do not want to be taken advantage of.
