Somewhere between Moab and Monticello, our Dodge Grand Caravan overheated. I thought I was having…read moretransmission problems before I realized the problem was overheating. I managed to pull over and get some water in the radiator, and nurse it into Monticello to the Maverik. Bert just happened to be there in the Maverik. What a blessing. He figured out that we had a leak in the radiator and slowly got enough coolant into to for us to drive it to their shop. It was a Saturday, so he had me drop it off at Shafer's shop where he worked. Everyone we talked to at church the next day and around town said, "You are in good hands with Shafers." I found that to be very true. I met Mr. Shafer on Monday, and he was very kind. Even though he had a lot of other business, he did his best to get a new radiator delivered. When it didn't come due to the transport truck breaking down, he drove to Cortez personally to pick one up. Now that's customer service! It was finished on Wednesday, and we got back on the road and back to McKinney, Texas, with no further incident. The price was very reasonable. I am very thankful for Russell, Bert, Trent, and everyone at the shop. I highly recommend Shafers.

Vegetables are fresh and well priced - some things are very expensive, but core items like chicken,…read morepork, cheese, etc are really well priced and they have rotating deals and sales that are meaningful. For such a small store they do a really good job of keeping a balance of goods and their little breakfast burritos and donuts are surprisingly good! Cheaper than big box stores in the SLC area oddly enough.

Word of mouth is spreading the knowledge of Steve's friendly and professional manner; and I'm here to help spread that word. My husband's SUV needed a new gas filter which was enclosed inside the tank itself. Not only did Steve take the vehicle immediately, but he quoted us a price better than another repair shop had, and had the work done by the next day. Later on an unrelated issue developed with the SUV; Steve kept the vehicle for several days, testing it at different times each day, but the problem refused to show itself again. Steve did not take guesses at what the problem might be, nor did he fix parts unnecessarily; he honestly told us that until it occurred again, there was nothing he could do. While traveling through Colorado, the vehicle stalled out and another mechanic found that the computer had finally given out...what do you expect from a 1998 used vehicle. All we knew was that Steve had been very honest about the assessment, and we were going to keep using his business. Recently I took my car in for its yearly inspection and it only took 20 minutes. Another automotive business I had been using usually kept my car for an entire day! While I was waiting, I saw Steve interact with other customers; he was naturally friendly, polite and helpful. If he could not accommodate someone, he would call another business to see if they could help the customer. Another facet I like about Draper's is that the atmosphere is positive; being unfamiliar with the workings of an automobile, I'm not made to feel like an idiot. Steve Draper should run a class on how to truly operate an automotive towing and repair business. If you're a resident of Monticello, Utah; or a traveler with auto issues; make sure to keep Draper's numbers handy. Thanks Steve for being a true professional and proud of what you do.

A couple friends in Utah helped me get it towed to Drapers. The mechanic Aldo and his team of tow truckers did a very good job repairing my vehicle the next morning. I don't know if this will show my original review as well as the update, or just the update. I just…read morewanted to rewrite this a bit. On Labor Day, 2019 I hit a deer. It damaged my vehicle enough that it needed repairs to be drivable again. So, my car was towed on a holiday. He answered the phone for the highway patrol....but not for me or my father when he came to get me. We tried all of the numbers of course to no avail. I don't live in the area, my dad lived over 4 hours away. We couldn't stick around waiting for him to feel like answering our calls. I was left with no choice but to break a window to get my stuff out...load it into my dad's car...and leave. Keep in mind...my vehicle's alarm was going off while I did all of this...and since I was on a trip I had a lot with me. Close to what looked like his house...as well as his office. He didn't come out or say anything (that means that if you have a vehicle stored at this place...it's contents aren't exactly safe). We tried several times to reach him by phone...not just that day either. He never answered our calls. He never responded to our messages. He never called me. The highway patrol person who called him made sure my phone number was included with my keys for him...but he never used it. The lack of communication was so glaring that my parents helped me buy a different vehicle because they felt it was the best option. Despite having a different vehicle, I still tried calling again on my way back through, again no joy. Then, around a month later, he called my insurance company and tried to file a claim wanting storage fees! Something that wouldn't have been a problem if he had picked up the flippin' phone and called me at any point. He told them he couldn't get a hold of me. Really dude? Geico closed that claim real quick, but nice try. It has now been over 2 years...and I am still mad about this. I loved that car so much, but because he couldn't be bothered to answer the phone, I had to leave it behind. I'm actually shocked by how many positive reviews this company has. If they are normally so good...what happened? Why did he blow me off when he's been so good to so many other people?
