If you order part of the proceeds go to a local charity!! Love this! As a side note, 8/24 is national waffle day so this weekend they have all kinds of cool stuff planned! Go if you have the chance.

Upon entering, the friendly girl at the counter was occupied, and one of the bakers and possibly owners came out to take care of me so I wouldn't have to wait! Talk about awesome customer service. Plenty of poptarts, cupcakes, etc. to pick from. I chose the Very Berry Strawberry and Snickers Cupcake. I do t want to embellish or over do it... but I'm not kidding when I say these may be the best 2 d@@n cupcakes I have ever had!!! They explode with flavor in your mouth. The strawberry was vivid, the sweet but not overly sweet, the cake and the cream were extremely creamy and moist! The Snickers cupcakes.... Jesus took the wheel on this one, lol. It's insanely good. Little sweeter than the Strawberry but so tasty! The frosting again was perfect in consistency. The flavor of caramel, Snickers, and I think a little peanut butter absolutely lights up your taste buds!!!! If you are in Amarillo...heck Texas hah....you need to make a pitstop here and try these cupcakes. It is so clear why they won Cup Cake Wars. Absolutely fantastic....and the best part, they kept their prices reasonable at $2.85!!!!!

I hit the one in the Summit shopping center, and on my way out of Amarillo back to Austin, I stopped at their original location in Canyon. What a cozy spot that it was. Summit and Wolflin feel so established with their black walls, tables, and decor while the Palace in Canyon has this timeless feeling. Inside, the walls have a floral wallpaper, the lighting feels classic, and the ceiling looks like it's been there for decades. I ordered a hot Bluebonnet at the suggestion of my girlfriend and took home a whole-bean bag of their Monarch blend to try at my home in Austin. There was a decent buzzing crowd in the main space with plenty of seating in the back room. There was a group of older gentlemen next to us enjoying their coffees together. What a life. The baristas here during the morning we went were all so friendly and conversational which seems to be the norm at all Palace locations. There's just a level of sweetness in the atmosphere I get at Palace that I don't feel like I get at most shops. Their merchandise is excellent (not valuable to the review, just thought I'd share) and it seems like they truly care about the entire coffee experience instead of hastily throwing out drinks. Palace really stands out as a top tier coffee shop in Texas. Every community needs a place like Palace, and Canyon y Amarillo definitely benefits from them. My wife and I ordered drip coffees with half-and-half, I'm still not sure what we actually received, as not only did my coffee taste like it had some sort of Irish cream-flavored something in it, but the whole front of the coffee cup looked like it had been dropped in coffee or coffee had spilled on it, and to be blunt, it just wasn't good. On top of that, it took almost 20 minutes to get our coffee, not simply because of a long line, but because the place seemed understaffed and incredibly busy and harried. Maybe we just went in on a bad day. But I certainly was not impressed and threw it out after a few sips.
