So much to do with the Grandkids. They loved the hay ride and the maze. The giant slides are so much fun. Their new paintball are is a blast. The Smokehouse had delicious turkey legs. We also got giant pumpkins out of the patch. We will definitely be back for Christmas. read more

Maxwell's Pumpkin Farm has a side gig during the Christmas holidays. I was in Amarillo with my BFFs family and we went on a late night during the thanksgiving break. Make note - this place closes when this place closes, so if you get there 30 minutes before close...whelp, enjoy your 30 minutes homie. There are photo ops galore around this field. There is a section that is only accessible by the owner operated hay-ride, which we missed the last ride, but saw the folks scoot away. The rest of the field has a path to follow and Christmas lights displayed several yards from each other including a makeshift tunnel made out of flashing Christmas lights. There is a huge rocking chair, fake polar bears, Christmas trees to pose with. Plus some activities for kids like a huge slide and ziplining. This place also boasts a gift shop with hot chocolate (all for a price of course). All in all this place is festive. Be sure to bundle up and wear sensible shoes! read more

Poor business practices! I purchased tickets in advance as a gifted for my entire family. We were looking forward to spending an evening together enjoy8ng the lights. Due to a little rain, Maxwell's decided not to open that day and is refusing to give any kind of refund or raincheck. After multiple attempts to contact them directly, there has been 0 response. Super duper pricey. Fun, only, not. I really hate to say this. Let's face it, there's not a lot for kids to do in Amarillo, but geez. There's a lot to do here, but you pay to get in and that's okay, but almost all the fun things to do cost more once you get inside. Mother trucker. read more

Seems like great family fun, but if you're just looking for pumpkins, I'd stick with Wal-mart :) My boyfriend and I ventured out to Maxwell's last Saturday to get some Halloween pumpkins- I'd never been to a pumpkin patch so it sounded like a fun adventure! We found some great pumpkins after digging through the scraps, and a couple of small gourds, all for under $5! However, it was $10 per person just to get in and for a couple without children, it wasn't that exciting. So basically we spent $25 on a couple of pumpkins... It looks like a lot of fun for children though, with a hayride, "small animal petting area" and some sort of slide. I'd recommend for a family with kids! read more
