What a spectacular little spot located right on the outskirts of Enterprise, OR. What's also…read morespectacular, is the view of the Wallowas when the clouds and coverage decide to eventually burn off....this may take all day, but it's well worth the view when they're in sight. The Log House RV is conveniently located near Joseph and the Wallowa State Park, and exploring those areas was such a fun time that we're planning a return trip before the summer's end. Brian and Margaret, the owners, were both amazingly welcoming and inviting. My husband had reserved a luxury campsite, (eg "Glamping"), for my birthday weekend, and Margaret offered to have a small box of Arrowhead chocolate caramels, (from a local chocolate shop located in nearby Joseph), waiting for us upon our arrival. My husband took her up on her offer, and the candy was decadent. Also, Brian left a birthday card beside the chocolates that was personally handwritten by him. The luxury tent that my husband, myself and our chocolate lab spent our weekend was clean and cozy and had the absolute most comfortable bed that we've ever slept in - no kidding. The bathrooms and shower house was also clean, and they are even 2 sets of washers and dryers if you feel inclined to cleaning your dirty duds during your stay. Overall, a wonderful birthday weekend was had, and much thanks and appreciation to both Brian and Margaret!! **Side Note: A little hidden gem that's not to be missed and is located in nearby Lostine, is the recently renovated and re-vamped Lostine Tavern, (the locals call it "LT"), for either a delicious breakfast or lunch. Also, a little shop named "Beecrowbee" that's located in Joseph is a great stop for handmade soaps, unique jewelry and apparel.

Our faves were the buffalo chicken wings and steak bites with an interesting and tasty cocktail type sauce. We asked for our burger to be medium rare which was met with the response they would try but truly don't expect it. Well, he was right. Just take it like it comes. Consider yourself lucky there's even a place like this out there. The fries had a coating on them that we don't prefer, but it seems to be getting more popular. The ham and cheese was our least favorite. The flavor of the ham wasn't to our liking. The ambience was def worth it. Overall, a nice and relaxing stop.

This review is a really hard one to write, where do I even start…read more... And keep in mind, I sell food to restaurant for a living on the Oregon coast and I am very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the restaurant industry. First off, if you look at the location of this establishment... they are REMOTE. They are so far out into the Idaho backcountry! It's just simply amazing that a place like this even exists this day and age. We rented snowmobiles in McCall and road them on the trail all the way to this place. We made this trip in -20 degree temps, and to say it was worth it is an absolute understatement. The service was outstanding! I really wish I could remember the name of our waitress, but I am HORRIBLE at remembering names. Luckily this town has a population of 8 people... So I am hopeful that she will get credit for this experience. We spent an entire week in the Cascade and McCall Idaho area and ate out at MANY restaurants. The sad thing about that is that the best food we had the entire trip was at the Baum Shelter! A little restaurant in the middle of no where can provide better service and better food than the places in Cascade and McCall?!? And they don't even have running water in the winter! All the other places we ate at should be ashamed of themselves. We ate at Grandmas and Reo's pizza in Cascade, and we ate at Lardos and McCall Brewing in McCall. These restaurants get food delivered right to their back door from places like Sysco or US foods. And on top of that, they have a bigger population available to staff their establishment and more selection to hire well qualified people. How is it that a place like the Baum Shelter can have better food, better service and better ambiance than a place in town!? For crap sake, the Baum Shelter has to ride a snowmobile 30 miles each way to McCall in the winter, once a week to get food for the restaurant. That's INSANE. We started off with Jalapeno poppers and mushroom soup. The poppers were fresh, hot and delicious. They were hand made poppers and they were not breaded and fried like most other places. These jalapenos were filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon, and they do not disappoint. The Hungarian mushroom soup was outstanding, and believe me... this was not soup from a can. This was house made from scratch and had a depth of flavor and quality. We then had a burger and chicken strips. The burger was awesome! Good quality patty, good quality cheese, good hearty ciabatta bun and cooked to perfection! And a house made BBQ Sauce, which was to die for. And as the chicken strips, they are probably the best chicken strips I've had at a place. When we ordered them, I just assumed they would be some pre made Tyson product that is pre breaded and just deep fried... but NO! These were hand breaded and cooked perfectly. They do a unique cornmeal style breading on the chicken strips that I have not seen since I lived in South Carolina. And they were not dry either, which was awesome. Even served with HOUSE MADE ranch, which was way better than the crap in a bottle. Hands down a totally fantastic visit at this place and we look forward to returning soon! Absolutely without a doubt in my mind 10/10 would 100% recommend this establishment.

I knew we'd be coming in on a hot day after a 6hr drive, so I picked a place w a pool. The pool…read more(and completely detached hot tub) was closed due to... RAIN earlier in the week?! The staff was friendly. There were no weird smells in the hallways or ancient elevator. The floorplan is odd and the walls are thin, at one point it sounded like someone was attempting to enter our room through the ceiling. There is a railroad 8' from the rear of the building that our room directly overlooked, thankfully it doesn't run on weekends. The little coffee pot was inches away from the toddler sized toilet with a seat that was barely hanging on and could only be flushed once a day. When I closed the shower curtain there was a used washcloth hanging between the rings, I put that on the floor for housekeeping. The bed was super comfy and springy like the ones in grandmas spare room, so we got really good sleep. I will definitely spend the extra $$$ for a quality hotel and read the reviews first from now on.

To give you an idea I put two bottles of water in the freezer part and did not even develope a slight freeze overnight. 2-The desk is nice but there is no light or outlet to plug in your laptop. And to add insult to injury the pnuematic chair will not stay adjusted to desk height so when you sit in it it slowling goes down. 3-Carpets. Looks dirty and with stains. 4-The refrigerator is in an open cabinet with a microwave on top. I have no idea with the amount of dust but it is nasty looking. For 170.00 I was not expecting the Hilton but I was expecting a nice room that after a 13 hour drive I could lay back and relax. Not the case, sad to say. If I was not so exhausted from my drive and if it was not 9:30 at night I would have gone down to the office to ask my reservation be cancelled and my card credited. But I was just to exhausted like I said after a 13 hour drive.

I loved my stay at this park. It was definitely the nicest experience of all the RV parks I stayed…read moreat on my trip from Arizona. A peaceful and quiet place to relax and slow your pace of life. Beautiful sunrise AND sunset views! There's a small number of spots, large and nicely spaced out, no cramming in together here, easy to get in and out and pull through. My site went slightly uphill but I didn't have a problem getting my trailer level. I drove by the RV park a few miles away in Grangeville and they look packed in like sardines, which made me really happy I chose this one. New infrastructure (nice water and electric hookups), fire rings and clean high quality picnic tables. If you don't mind dumping your tanks at the free spot a couple of blocks away, then this park is a great choice. I used the private shower house and the shower felt like a luxury compared to my RV one. The water softener made my hair softer than it's been in a long time! There are even towels and guest soaps. Two towns are nearby with services. My cell signal worked perfectly and so did the wifi. What makes this place special is the "real people" owners. They clearly go out of their way to make sure you get everything you expected and then some. They run their park the way I would if I owned one - with generosity and kindness. They were also very accommodating when some tent campers showed up on short notice to camp with our group. The prices are excellent and it's very affordable to stay for longer periods of time. There aren't a bunch of amenities and activities, but I'm not the kind of camper who cares about that kind of stuff. I'll take beautiful, peaceful and spacious any day. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely stay here.
