Nice apartments, management is great. Not much amenities, but it's a nice community to live in.

5 year Tennant here. In all of my years living here my only complaints are more towards the tenants not necessarily the staff or the property. When I moved in the property was poorly managed the people in the leasing office were just not good people to deal with however once it was sold out everyone since then has been great and the property itself has been well kept and well-managed. Sometimes parking can be a disaster but thats more so the tenants faults then the staffs. I myself have a garage so parking for my two cars isnt an issue. Anytime I need maintenance work done,it gets done no fuss no fight and most certainly not a long wait. Luckily I seem to be in a building where everyone is pretty respectful and doesn't really complain even when I have visitors and music playing or my kids stomping up and down. The office themselves, if you do communicate with them they're pretty understanding and always do what they can to help within reason. Life in general is expensive during these times so it's not a cheap place to live but it is a great place or at least has been since I've been here. read more

I've actually been waiting for my deposit for close to 2 years now and they just keep giving me the runaround they don't give me a straight answer and the funny thing is I never moved there because I said I made too much money It's really sad that it's going to be in April will be 2 years and I'm still trying to get my deposit back It's crazy but this place I would not recommend because given the deposit back they were happy to take it real quick but then when they called me a week before it was going to move in they already snatched that deposit and will not give it back I don't know what else to do if someone could help me I greatly appreciate it. read more

I have lived here for 4 years, and it's definitely had its ups and downs. Mostly had issues due to the parking situation and maintenance issues in the beginning, but overall all it's been great. A lot of families and young adults. I have wonderful neighbors. Steven in the office is a gem. You can bring your concerns to him and be assured he will take care of it, but takes complete ownership of his work. Love him! Sylvia just came in and already can tell she is going to be great to have within hour community. Rent is definitely high but everywhere else is too. I had been searching for an apartment for months. What an exhausting and disheartening experience. Everywhere I have gone I have been treated like an annoyance. Not here! Loreena is absolutely a joy. She answered my questions before I can even ask them. It's like she was reading my mind! She's very personable and thorough. She encouraged me to come back if I had questions or needed to look again. I would lease here in a heartbeat . The floor plans are spacious and the prices are well worth it. The community is very well kept and clean, which is was one of the things that is important to me. On November 30, 2022, CCLA management informed residents that our mailboxes were being "serviced." It is now June 3, 2023, and we still do not have mailboxes. Over the past six months, we have had to wait up to 45 minutes at the local post office each time we have wanted to retrieve mail. Because it has been so long, the post office has stopped sorting mail, and many pieces of my mail have been lost--for example, checks and a jury summons. The only reason I knew I had a jury summons was because I receive a daily USPS email snapshot showing pictures of items arriving in the mail. Otherwise, I would not have known about the summons and would have been in unnecessary legal trouble simply due to CCLA's negligence. Since August 16, 2022, I have been calling management about a broken dishwasher. It is now June 3, 2023, and I still do not have a functioning dishwasher. Management replaced the dishwasher with a used one that broke after two cycles. There is rust on the bottom and the top rack does not work. I have spoken to management many times about this replacement; the corporate office has never returned any of my numerous calls. In February 2023, I verbally informed management several times that there was a significant amount of dog feces on the stairwell by my apartment. It is now June 3, 2023, and the stairwell has still not been cleaned. It appears residents have simply kicked the droppings to the side. A stairwell landing on the other side of this same building has had a large number of dead bees on it for at least a couple months. Management has not taken meaningful steps to address these issues. This was an excellent place to live when I moved in 4.5 years ago. The above issues are sufficient to show that this is no longer an environment that cares about its residents' quality of life. read more

I hate writing poor reviews but what can you do? Since RWSelby took over as management, the place is a mess. I've lived here twice for almost 10 years total. The apartments themselves are spacious but the management services are atrocious. We have been WITHOUT MAILBOXES for almost 6 MONTHS! I finally had to get a PO Box so I wasn't spending 1+ hours every Saturday retrieving mail at the post office. Office staff response when I go to the office is...a few more weeks, they're on backorder, yada yada, yada. The office staff do not respond to emails and rarely answers the phones. Rents are astronomical and you receive a 3 day notice if your rent is not paid exactly on the first. There is a severe parking shortage and no hesitation by management to tow. STAY AWAY...DON'T RENT HERE!! read more

So we have lived here over 2 years. We actually have 2 apartment units here one that our older daughters live in and before the new management came in nothing was ever fixed or taken care of. Since the new manager Margaret came she has worked very hard on getting this place back to where it use to be when we first moved in. This complex has a lot of families living here and a few bad and rude people who feel like they can just do whatever they want without a care to other renters. Margaret has always listened to every single complaint and has tried to come up with solutions to the parking here or the homeless that try to live in the dumpsters. Even has tried to work with the rude people who have threatened families in my same building even threatened one of our daughters. The manager is often here when I come home from work very late and very early also. No apartment complex is perfect but as someone with a family I am glad the manager and the maintenance guy do whatever they can to help all renters. And try to come to workable solutions for everyone living here. They both are the ones trying to clean this complex up on a daily basis. For most of all of us we all get along and even through covid we all came together as a whole complex to help each other out. I've read some of the negative reviews and the ones who complain are the ones doing things wrong like our upstairs neighbors walking around threatening renters and really are the ones harassing other people and are truly the ones who seem to be racist. It's sad that a few bad renters can destroy the image of a whole complex. read more

I don't even know where to start, never in my life have I experienced something like this, whether it was dealing with racism or feeling discriminating by an apartment community. I have only been living here 3 months and management have been trying to do everything to get us out, we are not problematic people, we pay our rents on time, and mind our business but it seems like since day 1 and before we moved in we weren't wanted. Our downstairs neighbor came multiple times to our door to harass us and complain about noise when we're barely even there. We have told Margaret the leasing agent how we felt and she has done nothing. She has been very rude to us and I have not felt welcomed since moving in. We can't even watch tv or use the blender because the downstairs neighbor complains and even called the cops stating when we had a party and when the cops saw that we just had our baby nephews over even they felt annoyed with the downstairs neighbor. He has called the cops on multiple residents and harassed them but yet management still lets that slide. They have been rude to my husband and I. She is a rude lady and is very clueless at her job, whenever we had questions she says she doesn't know, like how are you in charge but don't know anything? She gives a lot of misinformation as well like how she said told us when we moved in that they pay the water bill here and turned out that the residents do, also I'm just so disappointed because we have not had a great experience here in such a short period of time. Can't wait until my lease is up, I do not recommend this place. read more

This place is absolute shit. Where do I even start. The maintenance dude literally accused me of stealing MY OWN package to the point where I had to pull my ID out to show him I wasn't stealing. That alone is bullshit. There is a mad amount of mold everywhere throughout pockets of the apartment and it's sickening. The neighbors are rude as hell and act like they don't live near a university, they linger around the parking lot and smoke cigarettes/have full on conversations right outside your window when you're trying to get work done. Most of the neighbors are grumpy people in their 40s. No parking whatsoever. Lastly, every single person in the office is absolutely terrible at their job, they don't give a shit about you. The maintenance guy just wanders around the apartment complex, the office lady is rude and should NOT be working in an office she doesn't know how to talk to people she is very rude. All in general the maintenance and office lady should not be working here they are very rude and racist. The downstairs neighbor has been harassing us ever since we moved in and we feel like we have to walk on eggshells in our home because he doesn't want a single sound. I am a little torn since I think the complex is beautiful and so far the neighbors I have come across all seem to be great, however I just moved in roughly about a month ago or so and this complex was in the process that being purchased by new owners so the manager that helped me move in was not thorough in the process and did not fully explain the parking situation. It's really unfortunate because in the small amount of time that I have been there I have already had my partners car towed because I was never told that there was a "visitor parking pass" which mind you, you have to get from the office before they close, which means that if you're having guests come over after 4:30-5 pm or on the weekends you're going to be shit out of luck because the office will be closed and your visitors car will be 100% towed within a couple of hours. We had to pay a little over $300 to get the car out, we both had to miss work because they towed the car around 3 in the morning and we couldn't get it out until after 9 AM if we did want to get it out before then it would be an additional $200! Went in later that day to speak to office management about the situation and all we got Was a BS apology saying "we're sorry you were missed informed, but we were in the middle of changing owners". What does that do for me!? How does that rewind the terrible experience we had!? These apartments ARE NOT CHEAP, we pay a good amount of money in rent and I think they should be more thorough and transparent with their residence. Truly disappointing. read more

First of all, that picture listed is for Canyon Crest Views which is 5203 El Cerrito drive about 1/4 mile east down Central - IRONICALLY it's a much better place to go. This place is WAY over-priced for what you get. Outstanding or ......sketchy sketchy neighbors - roll the dice. In my opinion the management was HORRIFIC. I wish I had kept looking before going here. My husband and I lived here for 3 1/2 years and absolutely loved it. The staff is so helpful, especially maintenance. The pool area is SO nice. Super quiet place to live because the residents are mostly older people, newlyweds, or singles -not very many kids. Over our 3 years there, whenever something was broken/clogged/etc. Adrian, their maintenance guy, was super quick to come fix it or order us a new one of whatever it was. A really lovely place to live, and safe too!! read more

I was told that "we never keep anyones deposit" They kept my deposit of over $1000. I felt that they lied to me and will tell you anything to get the apartment leased. I was very miss led!! I really learned to get everything in writing!! Don't rent from them, you will be sorry!! read more

I lived there, I think it was seven years or so, and loved it. I thought the management was prompt in meeting my needs. I lived on the top floor and that did help with the noise. Overall, however, I thought it was quiet and others didn't tend to bother. A great place to come home to every night. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. Maggie the manager is never on time she comes in when she wants leaves early when she wants. We have had multiple problems in our apartment and she does not address them. We had a major back up in our drains and leaks coming from under our dish washer we tryed calling the after hours number multiple times and they never answered.
