I wish I could give zero stars. I have never seen anyone have to deal with such a terrible, shady situation and ordeal. When my sister received notification that her lease would be due on April 5, she let the complex know ahead of time that she was looking for a house and would move out if one became available. She even said she'd go month-to-month if needed. Everything seemed straightforward at first, and she was told she would need to provide a 30-day notice, which she fully expected. On March 19, she gave that 30-day notice--trying to do exactly what they asked--only to be told afterward that she couldn't actually submit that notice until her lease officially expired on April 5. Because of that, they're now forcing her into paying rent from April 1 to May 1 (about $2,650) as the "30-day notice," plus an additional charge for May 1 through May 5 (around $440). The worst part is she's not even going to be living there during that time. She's moving out between April 3 and April 5, yet they still expect her to pay for time she won't even be in the apartment. If this was truly their policy, she should have been clearly told from the beginning that she couldn't submit her 30-day notice until the lease end date. Instead, she was told to give notice when she knew she'd be moving, and now that's being used against her. From the outside looking in, it really feels like they're just trying to squeeze extra money out of her. She's been a solid tenant for three years, always paying rent early and on time, and this is how they handle it when her lease is ending. Now she feels completely stuck--if she doesn't pay, it could impact her credit, and that puts her in a terrible position. This is honestly terrible business practice. Watching her go through this has been stressful and frustrating. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before moving here. read more

So upon notification that my lease would be due on April 5, I notified the complex that I was looking for a house and would be moving out if the house was not available by the time my lease was up. I would go on a month-to-month. I got notification that I needed to provide a 30 day notice which I expected. I then notified the apartment complex on March 19 that I was providing a 30 day notice and I was then told I could not provide a 30 day notice until my lease expired on April 5 so now I am moving out of my home April 3 through April 5 and I'm required to pay the rent between April 1 and May 1 because that would be my 30 day notice of $2650 in addition to they're telling me I will owe money from May 1 to May 5 in an amount of about $440 Additional if this was the case I should've been told that I could not provide a 30 day notice until the date my lease expired I was told I needed to write a 30 day notice when I knew I would be moving out. I feel like this is a scam and they're just trying to get extra money out of me when I'm not even gonna be in the apartment I'm under a barrel because if I don't pay, then they ding it on my credit and then I'm screwed. This is terrible business practice. I've lived here for three years. I've paid my rent early each and every month my lease is expiring. I'm not breaking my lease and my answer to my question. This is our company policy. Do not move here unless you wanna get screwed. In addition to this, there is no parking, not even on the street. So do not try to have friends or family over. But I can say Mike in maintenance is awesome. He is the only one that works for this company that cares about the tenants read more

I don't like self guided tours it feels very impersonal and transactional. The property looked unkempt, not necessarily dirty, but like no one is cleaning up dead leaves and spider webs. The apartment I toured (141) smelled bad, like mildew. The floor plan was nice but the finishes on the cabinets and countertops and the paint quality on the walls is not worth the price they're charging. read more

As a new tenant , my concerns were addressed promptly and communication is very good and consistent. At first it took getting use to on how to contact staff when in need -but the staff is happy to explain the process and be supportive Overall my experience thus far has been good . updating my review from 3 to 2 stars. unfortunately after we moved out we got unrealistic bill for paint , cleaning and remove trash. I asked billing department for itemized list and invoices for comparison. we found big discrepancy. We emailed the the Billing department about the discrepancy but they are not responsive. contacted the leasing office to see if they have a number we can call, they said nope you can only reach out to them with email. We kept emailing them hoping someone will respond and explain the discrepancy but no respond. it's been 2 week now. I wanted to take the time to recognize an employee from UDR, a leasing specialist named Darren who helped me navigate the application process. As some of you know, UDR does everything online now, and only has a text line, for their employees. This can be daunting but Darren helped me through the entire process AND communicated in a timely manner so that we could get all the docs and info we needed submitted on time. He was so gracious and patient, and provided great customer service. His professionalism and customer service is what ultimately led me to choose this community. I have lived here for a long enough period to see the good outway the not so good. The one constant that I say is that the manager responds almost immediately during work hours. They do have a text system and most things are done virtually, with technology, so if you are looking for that always accessible human touch, I think Windemere moved away from that during the pandemic. Mike the Maintenance man is simply kind and amazing! Albert, the office manager, actually listens and will give you his best effort to provide a quick and positive resolution to whatever you need!!! If I can rate this community with zero stars I would! I have moved into this community 3 months ago with my children and I would like to start off with if you're looking for a safe community this is not it. If you're looking for caring staff this is not it! If you're looking for a great move-in experience this is not it! My car has been vandalized 3 times within 3 months of living here and management and the community director is very dismissive. They advertise courtesy patrol but I only seen them twice since I moved in and when I call I'm always sent to voicemail. The community is not gated and I was aware of that but the fact I can reach courtesy patrol has saddened me. Especially because I spent majority of my time here fearing for my safety. My car tags has been removed, my car was vandalized by living feces rubbed all over my vehicle and my gas tank being Pried open! (Attached photos) when I moved in the apartment it was completely dirty from the vents to the floor to the cabinets not having handles. 3 of the doors are patched from previous residents and my appliances were dirty and did not match. (Attached Photos) there is so much suspicious activity! I voiced my concerns and the community director did not help at all. I'm not allowed out of my lease. With all of the issues I have occurred they will not let me transfer at the same rate for safety and I'm not allowed to move my parking spot to avoid my car being further damaged as I'm being targeted. Please do not move here! If so at your own discretion but I highly would not recommend! They are very nice until you move in then they don't care about the residents. The customer service is truly horrible. **I would like to add that the company responded to my review with the one thing they are not responsible for but what about all the other things that they are responsible for as in a move-in experience, the apartment being clean, me being charged for amenities that I do not have and courtesy patrol not being present or the ability to reach them. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Since my review on Google was mysteriously deleted, I will put it on here instead. Pros: Angela, the manager is the BEST! She will go out of her way to assist you as best as she can. The sad part is that she's no longer there. Mike, the maintenance groundskeeper is also amazing! If I had any maintenance requests, he would fix them within 24 hours. Cons: I NEVER felt safe here so I am glad to have moved out. Someone got shot recently in the complex so authorities had to obviously be notified. They sent a notice out to everyone. Parking is atrocious. They say they have designated parking, but on two occasions, I've had to call towing since someone was illegally parked in my spot. It is extremely inconsiderate coming from work after a long day and finding someone parked in your own spot that you pay for. The walls are thin so you'll hear neighbors slamming doors, talking, having parties and the list goes on. People also speed in the parking lot and don't care about others' safety. I've driven through many times and folks driving will randomly stop in front of you without putting their flashers on. The front office is NEVER there. The office is closed 24/7 and you can only communicate with them through their text line. Yes it may be convenient for some, but there are times in which you need to address concerns face to face. If you live facing the street right on Sycamore Canyon, it's like a freaking war zone. You'll hear all the cars NON STOP, racing, honking, trucks, etc. No amount of blinds will block the noise. I am glad to have moved out and if you value your safety, DO NOT move here! You will hands down regret it and believe ALL of the bad reviews! read more

I absolutely love it here. It's an older building. ( not enough parking garages available. However, it's perfect. The location is a must! We're minutes away from stores and eateries. I have an one bedroom apartment there and our son who is highly autistic has a place as well. The staff is very friendly & helpful with him. We certainly appreciate that. Another bonus is the rent is very reasonable and affordable. Seeing how other places charge outrageous prices. This place is a gem. And we're grateful because times are hard for everyone. The maintenance grew are amazing and very respectful. The site manager Albert is one of a kind! He's always responsive and troubleshoots anything that comes up! We truly appreciate a manger of his integrity. One thing I've notice staying here. It's a great deal of college students living here. Including both of my sons. So, with the rent being affordable they can have peace of mind and not be overwhelmed with how to afford a place to say and eat and school. Thank you! Windermere. This is a fantastic community. We absolutely LOVE IT HERE! Oh we have a little dog & so does our son. Just be mindful of other dogs in the area. The only thing o can say negatively. Is I wish they'd be in the office more. Worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. My mother passed away a week before my lease was ending and I was scheduled to move out. They did not care one bit and used my loss for their profit. Upon asking for a 2 week extension to move out due to unfortunate circumstances, I was told my rent would go up from $1500 to $2800 for month to month rate opposed to being on a lease. I had agreed to pay the new rates and set up moveout date for dec 1st. I moved out on the 1st like expected, but when I got my final statement, they took 100% of my deposit charged me double my normal rent, and then charged me for rent, parking, bills, and even late fees up until dec 20th...20 days after I moved out. These people are cold hearted crooks and will do whatever they can to get as much money out of you as possible. Btw - any positive review you see here is fake and was obviously written up by the office. lol read more

Extremely high-priced, low-quality apartments, where there's a lot of noise, unresponsive staff and 30+ years of painted over walls, porches, hallways, stairwells, and entry ways. I lived here for over 7 years and it was amazing when I first moved in, but then they kept incessantly and needlessly raising rent by a significant amount because they said the "market value in this area decides prices"... Complete and utter bullshit. They and the three or four other apartments in that area themselves decide their own market value to compete with each other! That's like a car dealership raising the price of sticker on their vehicle only to lower it back to the MSRP and then say it's a "sale price" - completely ridiculous. Maintenance used to be good, but now leaves everything to be desired. Not a big fan of these "WiFi" entry locks, where anyone can hack them and get into your apartment, or have a special unlock physical key (or screwdriver) and get into it instead of having a physical deadbolt and lock and key. Like normal places do. They are so far behind the tech times but want to play catch up so bad that they are severely decreasing the tenants quality of life. Pool and Jacuzzi are a joke. Mailroom is always broken into, same with the package room. Absolutely pathetic. Used to be a 10 out of 10, now it's barely a 2 out of 10 on a good day. And parking is non-existent, so don't even bother unless. You pay a lot extra for a garage. Ugghhh. read more

I go and try and get answers and raise my voice and they completely shut me down and tell me they are not helping me because I'm coming at the wrong people all I want are answers and why they won't give me my money back for which they already got refunded. Just be careful when you move in and always look at your statements and make sure their accurate. Been here for 2 yrs and at first I really liked it but after the pandemic not so much. The billing department refused to negotiate a lower rent and they did not create a program for the AUM utility company so you still have over $1690 plus the AUM and the guest spaces are always taken by residents and they are not supposed to be. I've complained and they wont do anything. If you live at the complex then you have a space or garage so theres no reason to take guest spaces. We are not able to fully utilize the amenities and they never lowered the rent. There are only 2 maintenance men in the entire complex and the security is not really good. The grills outside are rusted and dont really work well. I'm not one to complain but tenants shouldn't be paying almost $1700 plus AUM with this pandemic and you can't even fully use the amenities. read more

Zero stars if I could! It is very true (according to other tenants who wrote a review) that when it comes to moving out, they turn on you! $600 for cleaning?! Are you out of your mind? Repairing the floors? Hold on here. The floors are covered with linoleum and they are NOT hardwood floors. Linoleum is dirt cheap! They are a bunch of crooks! Don't move here! Lastly, you will be paying for water. The bill gets split among all the tenants in the complex. However, there is a douchebag that lives in the complex that washes his red Corvette right outside using a hose with the water that YOU are paying for. I addressed this concern. Guess who got back to me? NOBODY. Why should everyone pay for his carwash?! If you value your hard earned money - don't move here. Also, those girls that work in the office are ALWAYS late. I had a good experience here UNTIL the time of move out. Then all of a sudden the staff as well as the parent company, UDR, turns on you. Only 1 person used our apartment for a period of 9-months. It was kept extremely clean and tidy. At the time of move-out, we asked for a pre-move out inspection. Leasing agent Damaryus told us that wasn't necessary, and that we shouldn't clean the apartment because there is a standard $60 cleaning fee. Fine, understood, no problem. The problems arose when we were suddenly slapped a $80 carpet shampoo fee. There are no stains on our carpet AT ALL. All of a sudden, nobody from the leasing office could answer our questions, and we had to pay the fee because it's in our lease. Well also in our lease is normal wear and tear... but supposedly that does not cover carpets. UDR representatives started bombarding me with bills and calls. When a UDR representative just called me, she said also in our lease is a section that no employee is to give a verbal answer- it should always be in writing. So therefore, what Damaryus said has no value. So what is the point of your employees, if nothing they say holds any value. When I told her that I am extremely unhappy and will be writing an online review, her response, "well you knock yourself out doing that sir". Terrible terrible. I would never respond to a person in such a way. Either don't rent an apartment here (they spray paint the sinks and toilets to keep them looking white), or get every single item said to you in writing, because what their employees say hold no value. read more

Although Damaris was our fabulous leasing agent, all the ladies in the office had to help us out in one way or another, and each time we were met with kindness and professionalism. Every request for help with an issue was resolved quickly. Upon moving in, our neighbors came out to greet and introduce themselves, making us feel welcomed immediately. The GOOD: Well, it's a pretty nice place to live. Big, roomy appartments give way to spacious manicured grounds. It's picturesque and clean and safe. If I was a millionare I'd buy appartment and never leave it. The bbq's and pool and workout room are nice additions too--none of which I ever get around to using. A quiet place with garages (for rent). The BAD: Prepare to pay for EVERYTHING! Nothing (like trash or water) is paid or 'comes with' the appartments like at other places. They constantly seem to manipulate utility and/or rental agreement pricing structures so that they can squeeze out more $$$ from your wallet. They are unapologetic and look forward to hiking-up and maxing-out your rent annually. The UGLY: Basically, they'll just keep raising the rent until you LEAVE--and oddly insist it's not THEM, but their board of bean-counting stockholders that make them do it! Ha-ha-hee-ha, WHATEVER! The TRUTH: So, if you're independently wealthy and enjoy high ceiling, thick walled, luxury living then look no further! I came here to view a few units as I'm looking to move. I came with my son at around 330 pm nobody was in the office except the nicest maintenance man ever! He really did try to help. He explained to me vaguely as best as he could for something that isn't his job .. I went and found the units with my son who has a walking issue with one of his legs so we drove since they were far back only to discover this complex has ZERO guest parking and not like it was full like they literally took out the guest parking all together and NONE OF THE UNITS come with parking you have to pay for a spot, a carport or a garage no matter what you are paying to park your car there regardless if you move in. Anyways since I'm not a tenant I parked in front of the garage with my hazards on all the way in the corner and I could see from the window in case anybody was trying to get in I could run down and move in the 3 minutes we were inside the unit a Karen came running out of her apartment calling the office to have my car towed .. when I found another maintenance he stated it was fine to park there I told him which unit I was headed to next and he said I could park in front since it was quick .. I did just that since nobody takes u on a tour you do it yourself which is really weird considering you can attempt to walk in accidentally to any apartment .. anyway we get to the last unit it's on the 3rd floor I park and a man comes running out of here he tells me his wife is on her way and she needs to park there I explained I would be one second to which he didn't give a f .. I asked if he knew were I could park or what spot would be for that unit and he said none of them CUS YOU HAVE TO PAY YOUR APARTMENT DOESNT COME WITH A SPOT .. absolutely wild anyway I moved again maintenance came back and watched my car and directed me to the unit. Seems like the older heavy set maintenance man is the only one who works at this place or knows anything .. but regardless I wasted a ton of time going on this self guided tour, I didn't get any questions answered until I left and then found out parking is extra .. parking your car.. is extra anyways it's not the spot for me clearly. I wish I could put zero stars. If u don't have a car or if u like to pay extra for things that are as basic as a parking spot this is the place for you! read more

I moved into these apartments in August of 2012. I had been looking for an apartment passively for a few months up until that point. At the time, I had a dog (who sadly passed away from cancer in March 2013) and every apartment I was stopping by had a VERY high pet deposit. I stopped by Windemere one day and they were running a special where it was NO pet deposit and NO pet rent. I toured the place and fell in love immediately. I found the pricing to be reasonable and all units include a full size washer/dryer (a must). What I love is the apartments are pretty quiet. I can hear the neighbors upstairs when they slam cabinets and vacuum, but it's almost like background noise. I can't hear the neighbors behind or behind me at all. You can hear people talking in the hallway, but once they close their door, it's quiet. The only negative I've had is efficiency of the repair staff. They're very friendly, but the apartment needs to hire at least one more person to help with repairs. I know they're short staffed, so I'm not upset personally with them. Jose is especially friendly, I really like him. Overall, I love the location, my apartment, and the staff. Albert has been helpful and amazing any time I've needed something. I don't plan on renewing my lease because I need to move closer to work, but I wish I could take this place with me. read more

I had a really bad experience with the Avana Apartments across the street. I decided to drop by Windemere and see what they had to offer. The grounds are very pretty, lots of nice trees, nice big pool area with tons of patio furniture, a great gym with a variety of machines and cardio. The apartment was a good size with storage space and a garage!!! Paola was the agent helping me and she was very friendly, informative, and accommodating. I expressed to her that I am apprehensive about certain apartment living things. (bad neighbors) She assured me that although they are very flexible and tenant oriented, they do not tolerate excessive noise etc. The complex allows it's residents to use the community room FOR FREE! That means you can use the room for baby showers, super bowl, whatever you need! I thought that was a great perk. Paola explained to me that because they are a smaller complex they are able to help their tenants with various things. For example if you want to install an over the range mircrowave...their maintenance people will do it for you. Overall I found this complex to be a perfect fit for me. read more

I find the location to I-215 and HWY 60 great, and the apartments are sound proofed rather well. It's hard to find washer and dryer in unit with other rental properties, so that is a great benefit. The pool really is as great as the pictures. The staff is very prompt on maintenance requests. They are keep riff raff out, and are good about addressing problems with unsupervised kids or loud and obnoxious behavior. The office receives packages so you don't have them sitting outside for potential thieves. I do have to admit that the water is a bit of a problem. Our water was so highly chlorinated that it smelled like pool water, and it's a little bit hard. A water softener would be a nice addition to these apartments. Not sure they can do anything about that, it's probably a problem with the city. Be sure to get Infant water for making formula and water service or a good filtration system. Parking can be a bit of a hassle too. If you only have one vehicle it won't be a problem, but finding spaces on the weekend for a second vehicle is tricky. read more

Have lived here for over 4 years and have been in a 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom during that time. The apartment complex is always kept clean and well manicured. The maintenance staff is amazing!!! They are kind and efficient and make you feel super comfortable calling them with any issues you may have. The Leasing office has some of the nicest people I have ever encountered and they are always there if you need anything at all. The residents are very respectful of each other and I have had no issues during my time here. I would highly recommend living here if you are looking for an apartment! read more

My husband and I moved to Windemere just before he left for his deployment when I was a little over four months pregnant, in June of 2018 They made sure we were in a wonderful place and well taken care of. When I had to go back home to Alabama to give birth to our son while he was away, Damaris and the whole Windemere team made sure our apartment was tended to and our mail was brought in.
