Ive been a patron of this place for about a year now. But my wife is usually the one that takes in the dry cleaning. I recently took my clothes in myself and paid around 60 dollars upfront for various shirts and ties to be laundered and/or spot cleaned, and for a suit to be dry cleaned . Upon pick up, i asked if the lapels on my jacket could be a little more pressed since they seemed to have lost their shape during the dry cleaning. The lady laughed at me in a rather condescending manner and said, "no we dont do that". She then proceeded to continue with what she was doing.....as if my concern was just never uttered!! I asked again to have the lapel pressed to restore its crease and shape. She simply laughed at my request again. Finally, I calmly but assertively said, "look can you please press these lapels...the suit doesnt look the way it did when I brought it in here". Long story short, she then took the suit to what I assume was her husband and spoke to him in another language I couldn't identify. He then came over to me and gave me the same condescending laughter. Finally, I showed him where the lapel had previously folded and he agreed to do it. (I should add that they wanted to make me wait and come back another day to have it done.) Nevertheless, at my request they quickly pressed the lapel. When they brought it back to me the crease in the lapel was not even in the same proverbial "zip code" of where i had showed them it should be. Keeping my calm, I kindly asked once more to press it in the right place. They pressed it again. This time they pressed it correctly, but the crease from the previous press was still visible. Rather than make an issue of it any further, I expressed gratitude and accepted it the way it was. Now comes the fun part. When I returned 2 days later to pick up the rest of my shirts, the lady stated that my shirts were too big for their machines and that they would no longer service my dry cleaning and laundering needs. Im a big guy, but not that big!! I wear a 3X and have never, in p)my 36 years of life, heard of such a thing. I was stunned. It was only once i was leaving and in the parking lot that i realized what had happened. This lady just didnt want to provide me service any longer. And she used a hurtful manner of speech to discourage me from coming back. My residential wash machine is able to handle several of my dress shirts, no problem. This was more than simply a case of poor customer service or poor service recovery. This ultimately was a thinly veiled form of descrimination! Weight descrimination! Coupled with a childish, passive agressive personality that didnt know how to take a little constructive criticism about a suit lapel. I whole heartedly recommend NOT going here for your dry cleaning needs. read more
