First off, they are apparently a long-standing salon but recently opened up with a new, sleek modern look. When I called to make the appointment, they were quick to answer and it was very easy to schedule. I went for a basic women's haircut which was $75. Lilian was friendly and clearly cared about doing a great job, listening to how I was wanting the hair to be cut. Going from longer hair to a shoulder length cut along with a shampoo and dry all took just under an hour. I am definitely interested in coming back! They're located on the second floor of a plaza with lots of parking, although it can be busy.

She didn't copy the highlight placement beyond the front piece which I already had. How these haircuts even look similar to her is beyond me- I wanted those bangs and I got late 90s wisps. I asked for a gentle taper to the back but got a straight cut that looks more damaged than before. After 4 hours in the chair I wasn't about to waste anymore time asking for something she clearly couldn't deliver. If you don't want to rearrange all your plans to get your hair fixed by someone else, don't book here.

I went to Canvas Hair Studio on Saturday to get my hair dyed and styled by Reva Anderson. When my appointment was booked it said the dying process would cost $120 but the price could change. At the end of my visit the price was more than double of what they charge. I compared the price to other salons, who were cheaper and I had experience with dying and styling. Since Canvas was closer and the price was a little over I decided to go with them. First, this place needs to list how much they actually charge for their services. The prices are very misleading and no new customer will expect the prices to be more than double of what is listed. There were a couple of problems I have with my hair and service. First, she came in late and while dying my hair she kept leaving. As I have looked at my hair I have like three different shades of copper red in my hair. The roots are almost blond, the middle is a lighter copper and the ends are a darker copper. Second after looking at the length of my hair. She cut off more than three inches of my hair. I trimmed my hair recently and my hair is fairly healthy. She also trimmed my hair into layers when I purposefully cut my hair the same length. In the front and tops of my hair it was cut more than 3 inches. The only things that turned out well was my body wave style and she sold me some products that would protect my hair better when I shampoo and condition (because my hair felt healthy until she dried it). At the end of my visit I gave coupons, that I received at a business event, I was told I could only use one. At no time did the owner, when she gave me the coupons, tell me that I could only use one. Also, the ticket did not say I could only use one coupon at a time. They were all on the same ticket and applied to the different services I received. Also when I was sold the products I was only given the shampoo and conditioner. Little did I know another item, leave-in condition, was added. When I asked for the actual receipt, to know why my bill was so high, I was told that I have to wait for it to send to my email. I never received my receipt until I left. My visit cost me almost $400 ($300 without the products). I could have gone somewhere familiar and received the same services for $100. Plus all my hair would be the same color and my hair wouldn't have been cut as short as it is. I wish I wouldn't have come to this business. Now I will have to pay to get my color corrected. I lost time, money, and hair. I wouldn't recommend Canvas Hair Studio. read more

This place is a hidden gem that needs to be exposed! Located on the 2nd floor of what looks to be a shopping/small business center, the atmosphere is ideal for beautifying you. As a natural girl who had not allowed anyone to do anything other than braid my hair over the last 10 years, I was skeptical about allowing someone else to wash and straighten my tresses. My stylist, Tiffanie, put me at ease immediately. She took time to look at the health of my hair and confirm what should be done. I explained that I was there for a wash, trimming of ends and straightening of my natural texture. Tiffanie was able to do all of this with care to my tightly coiled tresses, without snapping, pulling and tugging. She recommended a protein treatment and deep conditioning which both left my tresses feeling soft and manageable. She was able to recommend a salon schedule to maintain the care of my hair, whether through straightening or simply styling my natural texture. Tiffanie will walk you through every step, even confirming the products that she is using and the purpose of each. For the natural girls out there who are fearful of allowing someone to handle your tresses out of fear of rough manipulation, I recommend that you call on Tiffanie. The environment was nice, and service was prompt. I did see a small refreshment area, but I wasn't offered anything...this could have been because I had my Starbucks, so no biggie. My haircut turned out just OK, the stylist was pleasant, however she didn't seem very knowledgeable, and her layering skills could be better. I have a very dry scalp, as she was combing my hair you could see dandruff falling on the black cape, not once did she suggest anything to help with this. I paid $90 for a wash and cut, $3 for using a credit card, and added a $5 tip because I'm nice....$98 for a wash and cut that looks like a $30 beauty college haircut. I won't be going back. My stylist was Raquel. Although I wasn't happy with my hair, I must mention that my hair was in horrible condition to start with...I had short parts, long parts, it was a mess! She may have honestly done the best she could do. It just wasn't worth $98...maybe if my scalp was treated, a deep conditioner was done, or a color rinse was added...but for a wash and cut ONLY, a basic boring poorly layered bob hairstyle, it was to much! read more

Me and my sister went here about 2 months ago first when we got there it was nice and the people were very nice we waited about an hour and then we both got are hair done by Raquel we got a frontal it was all good until we got home and tried to style are hair the weave went all the way back were you can see all the braids on the top of my head so we went back about a week later so Raquel could sew the side of our weave to braids so it would help the weave to stay in place and not move well when we dot home I realized she sewed the sides to back so you can see my real hair in the front and the lace on the weave did not match my scalp. That's a plus!! These ladies know what they're doing! Not only do they make your hair LOOK good, they also take care of it and make it healthy. Tiffanie Milton is the truth... to say the least. She manages natural hair like nobody's business and will tame any unruly mane! She does it all, actually, and takes her time with each client. The way these ladies operate is above the rest. I absolutely love this place. My search for hair salons is finally over. The salon is upscale and clean, and all of the stylists are super friendly and definitely experts in hair. I have been going here since November 2017, and Stephanie B. is my stylist. I wear hair extensions, and I get compliments constantly about my hair. Just last night, my friend asked me why I decided to take my extensions out. I gladly told her I still had them in. She said she couldn't even tell. I went to Tiffanie to get my natural hair straightened. Tiffanie is very professional, nice, knowledgeable about hair, and her work is simply amazing. I sat down in her chair and she was able to analyze my hair to let me know what I needed. Before I got there, my hair was so dry and brittle and when I left the shop my hair was so SOFT and SILKY. She only had to pass the flat iron through my hair one time and was able to determine the weak areas in my hair to prevent damage. She did a complete 180 on my hair. Saturday was my first time visiting this salon. I loved everything about it (clean, organized, complimentary refreshments). The staff is friendly and give you recommendations for your hair. I was serviced by Keri and she was absolutely amazing. She was a little late, but I was okay with that mainly because someone washed and conditioned my hair, right when she finished Keri arrived so I was pleased. I was for about an hour and a half. I have never been able to find a consistent hairstylist until I met her. She goes above and beyond even when I request a last minute booking. She can always accommodate. I have been extremely pleased with my hair every time. The atmosphere in her shop is warm and personable, and I have felt comfortable and welcomed each time I have gone. It is also a plus to see her adult children working alongside her in the shop. It really adds to the welcoming, family atmosphere.
