It's got a relaxing beach vibe with outside seating and a nice patio in the back with enough shade. I could tell that they host nightly entertainment here with a small stage. For lunch, I ordered the lobster maki roll. I'm not a big sushi fan, but I was intrigued. This lobster roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. Also ordered include the blackened grouper sandwich, billionaire burger, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Our group loved every entree. The cocktails were also refreshing. I really loved my jalapeño watermelon margarita. Our server was wonderful - very friendly and quick service. Definitely an enjoyable lunch or dinner spot!

The parking place had ample parking where you needed a mobile app to pay for your parking. There was a larger souvenir store there if you needed to kill time before your seating. Once it was our time for our dinner reservations, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress was a bit sarcastic or had a witty comments that didn't sit well with my kids. When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.

It's not easy to find vegetarian food in the South when you're hungry. Lila came to the rescue!…read more Downtown Sarasota parking can be tricky, but we found a parking structure with one hour free nearby. When we first entered, there was just one table occupied, it was early afternoon. The music was a bit too much for the setting. The environment was clean. But, it took 5 minutes or more for someone to come out and greet us. We went to the restroom and almost left, thinking they were closed. But, finally they noticed us. Thank goodness, because I had one of the best BLTAs of my life. The bread looked boring, but it was soft and the perfect blank slate for the seitan bacon, tomato, avocado, and mayo. Very tasty! My husband had the Tofu Rueben. The tofu was a thick slab and the faux corned beef idea would have been better as thin seitan slices. But, he still enjoyed it. Both came with a small salad of just lettuce. I enjoyed my meal (obviously) but I think they could improve their hospitality. Prices indicate a higher level of service. Maybe to go is best.

The food is Mondo Biondo with flavor. The great thing is anybody can eat here. It is billed as a vegetarian vegan place or plant base place actually but they have meat and fish on the menu. Just they're very careful about where they source their products. I brought two of my friends here that are very picky from the Midwest and they were in love with the place. It has a nice ambience, very clean, kind of industrial, but warm ceilings are very high, so even though it's a small place it does not feel small in the least. The Chef is amazing! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented. It is on one of the main streets in Sarasota and if you walk by, it may not look that interesting but I am telling you you are missing out on a truly exceptional food experience. Go here do not wait. It is definitely a place that makes your taste buds come alive..

I love Dry Dock Waterfront Grill and I always visit when I am in the Sarasota area. Dry Dock is always busy so I am also sure to make a reservation in advance using Open Table. Typically we sit inside but I know the back patio is popular too. If your timing and patience is perfect, you can also get a nice a nice window seat in the dining room that has sweeping views of Sarasota Bay. The inside atmosphere is bright and airy and although airy often translates to loud, Dry Dock thoughtfully put noise dampening panels on the ceiling. As far as food, I don't think you can go wrong. I always get something with grouper whether it be an entree, sandwich or tacos. On my most recent visit I got the grouper filet with coconut shrimp because I had originally been eyeing up the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. Ultimately, we decided to get the rock crab claws for an appetizer which were good but more work than I planned even though they were pre-cracked. I felt like a Neanderthal trying to eat those crab claws in such a nice restaurant. No offense to the Neanderthals, of course! I have no idea what my husband had as it disappeared. After entrees, apps and bread, we were too stuffed for dessert. I think our server was Cari and she was awesome! Attentive, friendly, funny and quite possibly a mind reader and magician. She saw the hanger in my eyes and made bread magically appear. I hope I got her name correct because she was superb! Shout out to all of the great staff members at Dry Dock -we've never had a bad experience. I love Dry Dock and it will forever stay in my Sarasota rotation.

The menu - though not expansive - offered a fish, a steak, a chicken, a pasta, a burger, wagyu meatloaf, salads and several other options, appetizers, a full bar & wine. The four of us were very pleased with the food, service - and live music (guitar/singer was excellent). Overall experience, 4.8 stars out of 5. For that, we'd definitely return. However - the parking experience was a fiasco. Given this was our first visit, my husband circled the hotel/restaurant twice as the clogged pull-in area was full and there was no valet in sight. Also / no signage to direct us. Finally - my husband opted to pull into a reserved lot behind the hotel/restaurant and temporarily parked as I sought someone to direct us.... I walked past the valet "station" - nobody there (perhaps busy with other guests) and I headed to the restaurant to request assistance with parking. My husband followed shortly as he found the valet and asked if ok to leave the car - the male valet handed us a parking placard and said he'd take care of it, no problem. Ten minutes later a young lady valet approached our table - telling us she dug thru my glovebox to find us - asking if we realized she could have us towed. Beyond rude. We attempted to tell her the other valet had checked us in - but she continued down a shaming diatribe at our table - telling us how folks park back there illegally, etc. When we asked to speak to a manager, the young lady valet informed us that her company was a third party and she was not employed by the restaurant so our dissatisfaction with her rude & threatening behavior was nothing the hotel or restaurant manager could do anything about.... Eventually she walked away /her nasty attitude intact - and the male valet squared things so we could enjoy a lovely dinner. When exiting, no valet in sight again, we waited at the pull-in area where two other couples stood next to cars asking us where they were supposed to park or find the valet. Another couple were standing next to their car asking where the valets went, waiting for their keys to depart. Fiasco. Time for a better valet system! So Wink Wink gets a 5 but the valet is a big negative. We live here year round and there are too many options in Sarasota to deal with a valet threatening to tow us at our dining table.

February 16, 2025 - 4 for lunch…read more We are long time members and this is my first time since all the renovations and work. First time to The Green Orchid. Perfect name! We had friends in from snowy cold NY / LI and this was one of the key stops with them during their stay. The place was pretty packed in season. No outdoor spots and we waited a few minutes for an indoor four top. Service was spectacular. The food was very good as we got a bunch of salads and light food entrees. There were a few cocktails as well for the wives. My salad was a lot of romaine but very spartan on edamame, onion, nuts or anything else. The green dressing was good. Clean as a hospital operating room!! Food was fresh and delightful. All the entrees we had were mid $25 range and with a beer at $8 and mixed drinks at $15 we zoomed up to about $42 per person or $174 for 4 people tax and gratuity. It was surely "tourist" and higher priced for a lunch. I picked up the tab for our guests and with the over 65 restaurants I have reviewed on Main Street and in Sarasota....... I am not sure this was so convenient and easy to be worth the cost/value for what you got? We might even walk the waterfront or head down Lemon or Pineapple and hit Main Street as an option next time? More friends in a few days and a few in March. The "boss" and social director will make the call.!!!
