The food is amazing, never disappointed. And so much. I've started getting the lunch special because it's just the right amount. The service has always been good. Always checking on us. And the restaurant is so upbeat and relaxing. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible. Price is in line with other restaurants. I highly recommend. read more

First time here.. not too impressed. Today we sat at the bar. We came for just some appetizers. Queso and guac. I am a guac connoisseur. Just wasn't impressed. It seems fresh but made the day before and refrigerated fresh rather than table side fresh. Didn't find the jalapeños or onions. The place is super cool! I love the wall paint/ decor. The woman's bathroom mural is so beautiful. Th bartender was nice just seemed spread too thin. Bar guests inside, outside, a section and making drinks is a lot. The manager however!! Is amazing. Female. She helped a lot. Stepped in, cleared plates, made drinks, refilled beverages. I would give more stars because of her.. however i think not washing the chip baskets is unsanitary. I understand they are lined with wax paper.. but they should still get washed. read more

The California burrito we had i had the beef one and my fiance had the steak. The steak one didn't taste right so she re ordered the chicken one. The chicken was dry and non seasoned and tasted rubbery. The beef burrito as soon as I cut into it the whole plate flooded with grease. I took one bite and instantly my lips was so greasy. We instantly wasted 36 dollars. Didn't know 2 cups of sour cream was 2.50 and a cup of green pepper was the same amount. This was our first and last time eating here as once I got outside I lost what little I ate onto the sidewalk. read more

We usually love this place. Food and service have always been spot on! But..... the last 2 times we have been here (2 weeks) service has plummeted to where the bar tender is also the server for the whole restaurant, while the food runner is propped on her elbows talking to the kitchen. The quality of the food is inconsistent. I had to go looking for flatware to eat with. Tables stand dirty because the poor server/bartender is in the weeds with no assistance from management! The manager needs to figure this out quickly or we and our friends will have to go somewhere else. read more

Ok, I have had this place before, and while it was good it wasn't amazing to the level of go tell people about it. Over the past few times I have had their food, it has consistently gotten more delicious. Today it was perfect. We got a burrito and flan. The grilled chicken was amazing, the avocado and sauces in the burrito were fresh and bright. And the fries were out of this world. I am so mad I haven't gotten their food more often. read more

We just stopped by to check it out since we were hungry and Mexican sounded good. The service was decent. The food was more than enough for the next day. It was quite tasty and better than anticipated. I always look to see how many cars there are during lunch and there weren't many but it was inviting and nice murals on the wall. Will definitely be back! read more

Cantina Louie offers a vibrant menu of street foods and classic Mexican Americana fare. The establishment is very brightly lit, too bright for my taste which made it a bit less comfortable. However, nicely decorated and quick service even on a busy evening. Alexa was our server and she very prompt and kind. The watermelon margarita was amazing! Sweet, strong and refreshing We ordered many items and all were full of flavor and beautifully seasoned meats. BUT Birria lovers beware! They use pork and not steak or goat which was super disappointing for myself and my date, knowing they had Birria was why we went and it was such a let down to realize it was not beef. Never had even heard of pork Birria before. The street tacos were fantastic! I will go back just for those alone and to try other items on their menu. All and all it's a nice addition to stand out among the usual local Mexican restaurants that are on every corner. This place is unique and tasty! read more

**INITIAL REVIEW** The latest reincarnation of 2400 Dairy Rd. is the first restaurant of a popular Mexican restaurant franchise founded back in 2014, known for their Mexican street food. Melbourne, FL happens to be "Lucky 13" as in the 13th location to open up under the Cantina Louie umbrella. The prior 12 locations, 10 being in Florida, being successful, maybe Cantina Louie can give this old building the turnaround it needs and break that failure streak it had for so many years. Apparently, with the good service, delicious food, and unique experience of specializing in the "Mexican Street" of Mexican food, it looks like Cantina Louie is just the restaurant to do it. Not to mention the ridiculously high number of restaurant food deliveries sitting on the pick-up table shows their food is highly sought out. Though an address is given, the 13th Cantina Louie is located on the west side of Dairy Rd., just a little south of its intersection with US-192. As mentioned earlier, the locals know the location for businesses quickly turning around. The location is "cursed" that even a highly-popular restaurant franchise like Beef 'O'Brady's couldn't stay open there. Given that building's past history, I made sure to go there ASAP, just in case Cantina Louie becomes the next casualty of that locale. I been there on two separate occasions with either family or friends. During both times, Cantina Louie was packed full once and over 75 percent capacity. Also, as mentioned earlier, there were a lot of restaurant delivery orders waiting to be picked up and delivered. Decor-wise, you got some of the stereotypical Mexican restaurant decor, but certain standouts like the entryway covered with numerous Mexican folk art crosses. The murals emblazoned on numerous walls both in the main dining and patio area are beautiful. Seating arrangements: plenty of indoor seating with a private party room, and an outdoor patio area, perfect for that scenic view of automobiles driving north and south on Dairy Rd. For food, I personally had the Birria tamales, street corn (by itself), and Quesabirria tacos. As for family and friends, they ordered the queso dip, Chimi Chimi Bang Bang tacos, Surf n' Turf Burrito, and the Burrito Supreme. The food I ordered was fantastic. Definitely loved the Birria line Cantina Louie has. Definitely want to try the other Birria foods I haven't ordered yet. Next time around, I need to order an alcoholic beverage, too. My friend, Rachel, did. I believe it was the Fro-Jo' Rita, Cantina Louie's version of a frozen Margarita. On a sidenote: restrooms were clean and there is ample parking but most of it is in the back (west of Cantina Louie). Ultimately, my two visits have been fantastic. Good service and even better food. Unsure about the alcoholic beverages for now, but I will try some when I go back. Since I only been to Cantina Louie twice, that is not enough times to know if they are consistently on top of their game. Ergo, I am giving Cantina Louie four out of five stars. When I return, at least two times more, and they are just as good as the last two visits, I'll give Cantina Louie their fifth star for consistency. read more

We moved back to the area from San Diego in 2021. The Mexican food scene out there is incredible, especially the California burritos - steak, sauce, guacamole, and French fries all packed into a giant, delicious wrap. We've been searching for something similar ever since and usually ended up asking places to add fries to other burritos just to get close. One Friday night, we saw our neighbors coming home with takeout boxes. We asked where they had gone, and they said, "Cantina Louie - we love it!" We're always up for a good Mexican food recommendation, so we decided to check it out. It did not disappoint. 1. The decor is amazing. You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into designing the space. 2. Our server was one of the nicest we've had in a long time. She had that busy energy but still managed to be friendly and upbeat the entire time. 3. They have a California burrito! It's listed as a Western burrito, but it checks all the boxes. We ended up ordering the surf and turf burrito without shrimp since we were after the steak. The fries inside were crispy and held up great - no soggy mess. The steak was tender, and the sauces really brought everything together. We also tried three enchiladas - two chicken and one cheese. They were solid, but honestly, the burrito stole the show. The kids split a chicken quesadilla from the kids' menu, which came with rice and refried beans. They usually skip the beans at Mexican restaurants, but they absolutely devoured them here. We'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

11/08/2024 Out with my daughter and granddaughters and son in law after not seeing them for a while. The food we ordered (see attached) was all good and hot. I had the cantina fajitas for 2 which could have used some sour cream on the side, but other than that, great! Great atmosphere if a bit loud... colorful decor with Día de los Muertos paintings everywhere. Prices especially were good... as were the drinks. My wife loved her 'Skinny Louie'. Service was very good too... Thanks Taylor! read more

I love the whole vibe of this bar and restaurant. The contemporary artwork is a nice touch, in addition to a variety of seating options. They also have live music every Thursday night. I've never had a poor experience here, and today Kaden was my server, who's been here since it opened. I've recently fallen in love with their specialty tacos, and he suggested the sweet corn shrimp taco, which was so tasty! I normally have the grouper taco, but this was super delicious! Cantina Louie 2400 Dairy Rd., Melbourne, FL 32904 1.5 Stars (chain restaurant review) With ten locations in the Sunshine State and two in North Carolina, it's safe to say this is a local chain with aspirations of interstate expansion. I will get to my thoughts as to why, in a moment. But, I get ahead of myself. My server today was Taylor. She puts the "c " in the word competent. She is a pro anyway ya look at it. Great job, Taylor! I asked Terrific Taylor for a Fajita Burrito, an order of Grouper tacos, one Pineapple Al Pastor taco and as they offer Pepsi products, a tea from their drink station. The service in the back matched the service up front as my order was soon seen marching to my table via Taylor. After taking the before pics, I got to work on the Fajita Burrito. Originating as faja, Spanish for strip, Fajitas were introduced to the world by Sonny Falcon in Kyle, Texas, in September of 1969. However, until the 1990s it still referred to a cut of meat (strips), when Mexican fast food joints began using it as a marketing term. Now, every Tex-Mex place serves some form of Fajitas. Well done, Madison Avenue! Back to the mission at hand. If you turn your attention to the before pics, you will notice that the fetid green goop (their version of guacamole) slid off the burrito prior to me receiving it. It's as if the burrito itself said, "Begone, Foul sludge! Begone!" The rice was overcooked by a few days and the other ingredients came straight from can found under the shelf by a local food distributor. Thankfully, I was here for a review, not a meal, so I didn't have to finish this repellent representation of a favorite Tex-Mex food item. I grabbed a Grouper taco, took a bite and immediately spit it out. Holy Ghastly Grouper, Batman! Rarely do I come across something so bad I can't finish a tasting sample. This had to be the foulest fish taco I have ever tried to eat. Look at the pictures again. I ask you, are fish tacos supposed to be slimy? Thankfully, this brought me to the last item ordered, the Pineapple Al Pastor tacos. I ordered this because I had never tried it before and it seemed intriguing on the menu. Consisting of pork, pineapple salsa and a pineapple wheel together with white rice, a veggie medley, black beans and topped with pico de gallo, my palate was interested from the get go. However, after sampling the previous slop, my taste buds were a-sceered. In the words of USMC Private Pyle, "Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!" This meat was actually edible and flavorful. Not to be outdone by the previous samplings, the veggies were sad, flavorless and wilted while I found the beans finished on the palate like a succulent tin can. In my experience, when a place has fountain tea and Pepsi products, they are cutting corners. And Man oh man, did this place prove that to a T. The only reason I can fathom them being open with 12 locations is that they must be some part of a vast money laundering scheme. Otherwise, I have no explanation. The Big Boy says, "If you want terrible Tex-Mex, then you have landed in Heaven as this stuff is horrid." read more

Food. My husband had the gravedigger nachos which he said were just "meh". They had bread and butter Jalapenos on them and were on fire! Yay for him - LOL. I had the surf and turf taco platter. My first bite of the taco was extremely fishy but no shrimp in the bite. The one small shrimp was fishy, hard and extremely overcooked. I question the freshness. The meat had an off flavor so I did not eat the tacos. My husband ate one and would not eat the 2nd one. The white rice and black beans were ok. The tamarindo drink was pure sugar and impossible to consume. Our server was extremely busy and never checked up as to how we were doing. We had to ask for water and no return to see if refills were needed. Not a good experience and sorry to say I will not return. EDIT: server did return and asked if all was ok before being the check. I shared my feedback regarding the freshness of the shrimp tacos and she left without a word. Still seeking a REALLY good Mexican restaurant in the Palm Bay area. read more

IlI start off with the food is delicious came out hot but, the service on the other was not great. (we had a male Kaimen waiter.) It took him forever to come to the table just to bring the chips and salsa. We ordered our drinks and our food at the same time another table had sat down next to us, Their server got their chips, and their order before we got our food. Someone else brought the food, halfway through the meal he showed up. We asked him for one thing before we could get anything else out he left. He never came back until we were completely done with our meal never refilled our drink or salsa or checked for anything else, but like I said food is great. Service sucks. I would given 5 stars but i've better service at a serve yourself buffet . read more

Service and food quality have gone downhill. Had a very rude server. I wish I got her name. She should not be working FOH or facing customers. I feel incredibly disrespected by this establishment. You can find so many better, locally owned options in an under 10 minute radius from this. Will be supporting my local businesses over this chain moving forward. FWI- Google reviews are inflated due to them having a promotion of a free dessert with a 5 star review when they opened. I wonder what their actual rating would be without those. read more

I will say NORMALLY good food. Today "Taco Tuesday" was horrible. I tried to call in a carry out order but it was so loud, I figured I would place it at the restaurant. We ordered there, to go, and took the food home less than 5 minutes away. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. When we got home- starving-The food was colder than the salsa. The only thing ordered that was hot was the rice & beans. They were of course placed on top of our to go order. I am so disappointed I could even eat the tacos- what a waste of $60! I really hate when restaurants have specials and then UNDELIVER. I used to be in food service, most of my life actually- I have worked for several restaurants that have "specials" to bring in customers & drive up sales. Let's not provide food that is anything but special- let alone fresh and warm. So disappointed-obviously I took the time to write this review. read more

We decided to visit this location because we had been to the Daytona Beach one and it was amazing. This location was great and the only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because my husband and my son wanted horchata and the lady that was attending our table although fantastic by the way, gave is watered down Horchata and my husband was not happy. Its not their fault they ran out of horchata but it was one of the main reasons my husband chose the restaurant. ((They make the best horchata in Daytona)) The food was tasty, warm and cooked to perfection. We chose to sit outside because the weather was great that day. Overall it was a great experience at this location, the music was pretty awesome as well I loved it. read more

I'm suprised how much I enjoyed this place!!! Barely open for a week and they cranked out the drinks & orders with no issues! The decor and artwork is fun & colorful touch that livened up the venue. The chips and salsa were fresh & the queso dip was reminiscent to Moe's Southwest grill (which I love). The last Mexican restaurant I went to was soooo terrible so this definitely had me in good spirits, literally. I ordered the Hacienda, which was a tequila based drink with blood orange. Since it was Saturday, the birria tamales were on special (until sold out) so I ordered that along with the quesabirria quesadilla. When I tell you these tamales were 5 stars on their own... man these were seasoned so well and the consomé tasted like someone's grandma was back there preparing it. This is a nice addition to the Melbourne area and I'm hoping this place lasts at this location. read more

[Quick Overview]: 7/10 for overall experience. This is a new restaurant to our area, so it is clean and freshly remodeled on the inside. Very pink and a lot of vibrant colors! Indoor/outdoor seating. It's a very fun atmosphere with todays current hit music playing over the restaurant. Service was good! Exciting menu options! [Drinks]: House Margarita: 7/10. Normally I feel like there's not ENOUGH liquor in mixed drinks, i can not say that here. Though I can appreciate a heavy handed drink, this was a little unenjoyable to drink as a margarita due to the significant lack of mixer (picture for reference). [Appetizer]: - Queso: 10/10. - Chips and Salsa: 8/10. The chips were so thick they reminded me of Tostitos chips from Publix unfortunately. *I got two different orders of tacos, 3 on flour tortillas, 3 on corn tortillas. **Note: I would NOT order your tacos from this establishment with corn tortillas, they are store bought and they will very quickly fall apart. I highly recommend staying with flour tortillas* [Corn Tortilla Tacos order]: * [Pineapple Chicken Al Pastor Taco]: 9/10. This taco was incredible, bursting with flavor. Its citrusy, quite spicy, tangy and sweet! highly recommend! However I was very disappointed in the corn tortilla due to my comment above. * [Street Corn Shrimp Taco]: 9/10. This taco was so fun to eat, it was sweet, the shrimp were super crispy and fresh, the cabbage added some freshness. Highly recommend, however (again), not with the corn tortilla. * [Chimi Chimi Bang Bang Taco]: 6/10. I was excited ordering this due to it having Chimichurri, but this taco just kind of fell flat for me in the flavor department. It just tasted like a generic steak taco. It wasn't bad, but there are more exciting options to choose from here, in my opinion. [Flour Tortilla Taco Order]: * [Chimi Chimi Bang Bang]: 6/10. My feelings are the same as both, however my taco did not fall apart! * [Surf and Turf]: 10/10. This was so good! The steak was cooked well, the shrimp was so fresh, and the avocado made this even more rich in flavor. Loved it! * [Sriracha Shrimp Taco]: 10/10. There is something about this restaurants fried shrimp that is out of this world on a taco! Perfect amount of spice, freshness and crunch. Loved this taco as well! read more

ok got here at 9 pm Friday 4/17, have been here before, and was happy things were good, last night sucked horribly, first off the staff seemed upset at the time we got there, ordered a margarita asked for salt, drink came out warm no salt and was told they threw the salt away and didn't have anymore really??? also it tasted horrible, told server to take it back we didn't want it she was kind of surprised, but did take it back, the basket of chips were all broken really pour, then gf ordered a surfer girl taco tasted awful, the filings were crappy and no taste, I ordered the combo fajitas steak Shimp chicken, truly looked like someone threw up on my plate no steak titi shrimp and two small pieces of chicken NO guac, had to pay extra?? really? no sour cream, and it tasted like shit pathetic, ILL NEVER GO BACK AND DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, OK I READ REVIEWS ON THE ARTWORK WHICH IS NICE BUT IM NOT GOING TO AN ART GALLERYI WANT GOOD FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! First time in and I would recommend and return. However, we were sat right by a leak in the ceiling with buckets everywhere which was not sanitary or ascetically pleasant to look at while eating. There was also a strange smell of cleaner or sanitizer permeating through the restaurant. The food was pretty good! Everything came out in less than 10 minutes. Guac was on point, carne asada fajitas were amazing and so were the churros! My burrito was paaacked with chicken and really good too. Server was very personable but did lack a little bit of menu & bar knowledge, but that's understandable after being open for a week. I did order a virgin marg because I'm pregnant, and was shocked to hear it could not be done because their margs are prebatched, which I am not a fan of. Oh well! I would return to try more food menu items regardless of the hiccups. read more
