My grandma took me and my young kiddos on a canoe down the Caney and it was so much fun! Super pretty, kid friendly and not a ton of strenuous work. There is a light flow on the river and when we went the water levels were relatively low which allowed for us to get out and poke around in the river which was really cool! Water was clear and beautiful. All the workers were very kind and did a great job taking care of us. Prices were very affordable and worth the drive! We will be coming back!

Some friends and I recently did canoe on the caney: the haunted canoe trip. It was well done. Local story teller who knows his stuff. This very much added to the authenticity. The biggest bummer was we waited for 30+ minutes on part of the party due to a interstate issue. Communication could have been better. The canoe shop was well stocked- staff was nice. The bathrooms were super clean. And my friends said the BBQ was tasty. Definitely want to check out the Waterfall tour!

7/30/2017 Went here with my boyfriend at the time to relax on the river in the canoe. It was a nice peaceful river to float out. Wasn't too busy on this particular day but it was a hot sunny one. Great for tanning and canoeing. I'd come back again when in the area. The staff in the shop and on the bus ride were very friendly and helpful in what we needed to do to safely get to and from our destinations.

It's 1:30 am and I just ate dinner after the horrendous Haunted Canoe Trip. We drove 3 hours to camp and do the 8pm tour. My wife got a text saying that we should arrive 30 to 40 minutes early due to a "large group". We rushed to get there and we're probably 45 minutes early. Well... we started 40 minutes late. 8 pm start became a 8:40 start. Arrived at the graveyard starting point. And we met Sam, a very nice man and proud local. I wouldn't say anything negative about this man. However...the entire tour was beyond boring and dragged on forever. We didn't get to the canoes until almost 11:00 pm. All the canoe tour consists of is paddling around in the water to a cove and being told another story by Sam. Probably the 20th story. Now it isn't all his fault because when you have idiots on the tour walking around with "EMF" detectors and asking stupid ass questions, it makes the tour EVEN LONGER!!! It was almost midnight before we got back to the starting point. We were starving, tired and bored into a coma. It wasn't a haunted anything. No jump scares, no costumes, no decorations, nothing that a normal person might expect. DO NOT take this tour unless you want to be bored to death and ready to kill yourself and become a story in Sam's repertoire. Very very pissed and disappointed we wasted our time and money in this.

Excellent organization! Everything is very organized and well managed. The equipment is in good shape. I felt that if there was an issue on the river, they would help us immediately. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and well taken care of. It is a bit more expensive than what we are used to paying, but it is also a lot nicer than the shacks we usually rent from. Also gas is crazy expensive right now, so driving the shuttle can't be cheap.

They made my first trip to Burgess Falls amazing. I love their pink theme and the story behind their mascot. The meeting area is easy to find by GPS and there's signs as you get close. Small parking area. After going over the rules, we get on their bus to get to the destination. Kayak training is provided and then you're off. They encouraged us to enjoy the experience and take our time. We never felt rushed. Free to explore at your own leisure. The kayaking part was easy and not taxing. Wildlife present to see. Once you get close to the falls you have to walk about 10 minutes to the falls. Very rocky area. Make sure you have good shoes. I wore water shoes and I'd recommendjust wearing sneakers or those good for trails that you don't mind getting wet because I felt everything in those water shoes. Lol. They had their own challenge of keeping the area clean by collecting trash rhat you can participate in if you wished. At the falls - you got to kayak around or stand in the water and/or under the falls and Tara will take pics of you that she'll later send for free. Amazing shots. Breathtaking falls. It was a blast and refreshing! Once you return back to the starting point they have their own portable potties that you can use and a shed to change your clothes in. Plus, personal care items are available for use. There is a small gift shop too. Everything about the experience was professional from start to finish! I highly recommend you take this tour!

Everyone else came with a group and as we were taking off, Eddie said we're all going to leave here friends. I brushed it off thinking nothing of it until I was sitting on a rock sharing a pb&j with an 83 year old named Ruth. I had a blast, a birthday I'll never forget. The price is stellar - comes with a shuttle to the launch pad, kayak rentals with all of the nicknacks, drinks, pictures, and a history lesson!!! I still haven't stopped talking about it and I went in September. I'll be back with friends! Eddie & Tara are such down to earth people. You can tell this is a passion of theirs and they truly value your safety. PS don't cheap out on shoes.

We have kayaked this 6 mile stretch of the Caney Fork twice…read more Our first was with another competitor. All I can say is they have great advertising and a Pirate and that's about it. Prices are comparable and kayaks are identical. We started off waiting nearly an hour before our departure time to make sure we have a full van load before leaving. After a 20 minute drive we put our kayaks in and had a nice float to our destination. That's where the fun ended. We had no one to meet us there from the company to direct us as to what we needed to do with the kayak, pfa's, etc. Finally someone shows up one hour later. They took our kayak and drop us off at a parking lot at the top of the hill where we waited another 30 mins for a ride back to the store. No communication and disorganized to say the least. This time we choose to use Caney Fork Outdoors. Not as well advertised but this is a hidden gem. Couldn't have been happier with our experience. 10 minutes from the time we swiped the credit card we were on the water. No hour wait to fill the van, no 20 min drive to the water. Just pay and play. Had a great day on the water then when we were done, they were waiting for us to load up the kayak and we were in a van and back to our car in 10 minutes. It was night and day to our first trip. I know not everyone's experience will be the same with either company, but just think it's worth it to give the folks at Caney Fork Outdoors a try. They may not have the flashy advertising but you are treated like a customer not a number and they are focused on you having a great time. Customer for life as they treat you right.

The views were amazing and the water was perfect for a nice swim in the middle. We also stumbled upon some cows about half way through as well. Super awesome! After we were done with our kayak trip we went next door to have lunch and the food was also amazing and no complaints. Thanks guys!!
