We have stayed at this campground a number of times. We like it because at 11 o'clock they make sure that the campground is quiet and our kids are able to go to sleep without having drunk neighbors keeping everybody awake. They have a really nice pool in the middle of the campground that is heated and kid friendly. They try to make sure on the weekends that they have stuff for the kids to do. They have wagon rides hay rides and other activities for the kids. The price on this campground is a little more than other campgrounds in the area however they have paved road's a nice playground and entertainment for the kids. We do like this campground and intend to come back here many times over. If you want to campground that you can stay up late and party hard this is not the campground for you. If you want to family-friendly campground to make sure rules are followed, people are safe and people go to bed on time this is a campground for you. All of the sites are very good sized and the owners are friendly. I recommend staying at this campground anytime you're looking for a nice family vacation.

I absolute toy love it here we come every 4 of July and even more it is a great place to relax and is fairly quiet but there is someone who comes around making sure everyone is quiet after 11 but he is crazy strict so it's good as long as you follow he rules but if u want to stay up late and party it's not good 4 u. But if u want a family camp ground Han u got just what ur looking for. I would definitely recommend this place to families.

There is a large office and spacious grounds with a sign to a nature trail. The specialty seems to be overnight camping. Although removed enough from the main highway, many Yelpers complain of all night train noise. The tracks along Hwy 61 are among the busiest in the state. There is a large parking lot and no charge to enter the park. I'm not a tree-hugger nor a fan of tearing them all down. This park has a wide area of close cut grass with no foliage what so ever in the main area. What purpose does crew cut grass serve when there is not a shade tree in site?

Initially we were heading to Welch Village to go tubing down the cannon river, but decided not to follow the bus load into the entrance. Found this place. Great little beach area on Lake Pepin. Favorable restrooms and changing area. Little carts available to use to bring all the beach gear. Comes in handy for all the people who decide to colonize on their own little piece of the beach. Very clean picnic areas, people are friendly and there is a free air pump to blow up all the inflatable water toys. As nice as it is up north, it's nice down south too.

My husband is on a mission to try all of the local Friday Night Fish Fries. The area near the bar was already full but there was another room with empty tables. As we sat there, the musician began setting up to start a set at 6pm. Service was phenomenal through our visit. Everything came out fast, whether from the bar or the kitchen. We weren't kept waiting when we were ready to leave, either. My husband had two beers while we were there, and I was happy they had a cider on tap. We had the cheese curds for our appetizer. The amount was great. The coating on these was quite thick, making them crunchy in contrast to the chewy-gooey texture served most places. My husband enjoyed the fish fry. The crunchy coating was like that on the curds, making these easy to pick up and eat as one might with a chicken tender. His sides were good. I had the ranch chicken wrap with grilled chicken, and coleslaw on the side. We agreed that the food was fine. Not out of this world, but good. Really, we agreed that the service impressed us the most.

Even though it's not far from the metro, once you're out on the trails it really feels like you're deep in nature. It's quiet, peaceful, and you can't hear any city noise. There are plenty of trail options with different lengths and scenery. You'll find trails around the lake, wooded paths, prairie areas, and a mix of paved and natural surfaces. It's also very dog friendly, which is a big plus. They've done a great job with the amenities too. There's a nice play area for kids, restrooms, and well-maintained paths. One of the best things about this park is that it rarely feels overcrowded.

It is close to the cities, yet when you're walking/hiking/snowshoeing, or whatever, it feels very isolated. Part of that in nature feel is because it is primarily surrounded by federal or state wildlife area and a U of MN researh farm. We first discovered if for snowshoeing and it continues to be one of our favorites for that activity. There's hiking trails you can walk on, or you can explore your own path. The terrain is varied with flat plains, lots of hills, plus swamps. Though we love it best in Winter, it is beautiful for hiking during any season. There's enough variation in terrain that you can get a good workout. Though it has become more popular as people have discovered it, it is still large enough that you do not feel overrun. There are also camper cabins if you would like to stay overnight. Highly recommend as an outdoor escape.

The owner/?husband called the escort and had us take a short cut through the tees. We have a large 5th wheel, this was not ideal. We got to our spot, the owner dictated how we parked on the site....it was way to close to the camper behind us. The owner was overly concerned about anyone parking on his "grass", clover is hard to kill! We were not allowed to put a rug out to reduce dirt tracking in. The worst part are the signs that warn people to check in at the office and that "EVERY" visitor is required to pay $5.00 each. The pool was closed, the internet did not reach our site...pay why? Had family stop by to chat and see the camper and we apparently had a knock at the door (thought it was the dogs) then it was a definite BOOM BOOM BOOM on our door. The man was visibly upset and demanded my sister move her car to a different spot, I said they were just visiting for a short time, he angrily said they should have checked in. I get that there are rules at these places to make sure it is a pleasant experience for all, but he made us feel very uncomfortable, when we were just staying to ourselves. Most spots appear to be long term, seasonal residents. Short term campers are stuffed in like sardines. Maybe focus a little on the broken down camper in the middle of the road and the kids over the weekend who blocked the roads and screamed at decibels that hurt your ears. I have family in town, but I will never go back there.
