The owner/?husband called the escort and had us take a short cut through the tees. We have a large 5th wheel, this was not ideal. We got to our spot, the owner dictated how we parked on the site....it was way to close to the camper behind us. The owner was overly concerned about anyone parking on his "grass", clover is hard to kill! We were not allowed to put a rug out to reduce dirt tracking in. The worst part are the signs that warn people to check in at the office and that "EVERY" visitor is required to pay $5.00 each. The pool was closed, the internet did not reach our site...pay why? Had family stop by to chat and see the camper and we apparently had a knock at the door (thought it was the dogs) then it was a definite BOOM BOOM BOOM on our door. The man was visibly upset and demanded my sister move her car to a different spot, I said they were just visiting for a short time, he angrily said they should have checked in. I get that there are rules at these places to make sure it is a pleasant experience for all, but he made us feel very uncomfortable, when we were just staying to ourselves. Most spots appear to be long term, seasonal residents. Short term campers are stuffed in like sardines. Maybe focus a little on the broken down camper in the middle of the road and the kids over the weekend who blocked the roads and screamed at decibels that hurt your ears. I have family in town, but I will never go back there.

The pool was amazing and we used it every day, just steps away from our cabin. The lodge has a pool table, large screen tv, and foosball. I liked having Direct TV. Waterville was a nice, quaint small town with a small market and a few stores. Lots of access to the lake from resort and other spots. Make sure you bring some games and pool toys, plenty of towels, some extra bedding, cleaning supplies, and a great attitude. The seasonal renters and the owner were very friendly and included us in all the activities on the weekend. No hidden fees or drama on check out. Wifi was a little slow so don't plan on working everyday. Just enhoy the friendly, relaxing environment.

This place is just...bad. We stayed one night in Cabin 10. The cabin was small- a tight fit for two…read moreadults and 4 kids- and the other cabins are even smaller. It was poorly constructed and poorly maintained and worst of all it was dirty. The stove had two bent burners and all the pots and pans were either dirty or broken. The silverware and plates were dirty too. The air conditioning is a window unit in the main room. It was 95 degrees outside the night we were there. When we shut the bedroom doors it got very hot and smelled of cigarette smoke. The hide a bed couch was covered in stains and felt dirty to the touch. There were flies and moths in all the rooms. The patio area had a plastic picnic table covered in food and beverage spills and the gravel under foot was littered with cigarette butts. There is a wooden play structure near the cabins but it is installed over packed dirt so kids can easily get hurt if they fall and there were old rusty broken toys laying around. There is a view of Lake Sakatah from the patio but you have to walk down a steep hill, across a busy road, down a steep set of stairs and onto a narrow metal dock to access the water. You can't swim in the lake. There is a small pool but it's not very clean and little kids are not allowed in it. There was no wifi access and the tv had access restricted on many of the channels. We had originally planned on staying 4 nights and we had reserved all 4 cabins for a family reunion. We bailed at 6am and found another location for the reunion.

For my son's 10th birthday we decided to host a paintball party. When I called to make the…read morereservation and ask questions about how it all worked, they assured me that my son and his group would play only with kids his age, NOT adults. However, when we arrived and I questioned seeing kids and adults playing together, the man working behind the register stated that "The adults are more scared of the kids since they are smaller and can move quicker" and that it wasn't an issue. As our group played, they did kids and adults games and some kid only games. During the last match of kids and adults, one of the girls in our group was shot within close range (less than 6 feet) eight times in the stomach by an adult. She was crying and in pain and the welts were bleeding. The ref came over to apologize twice and say it shouldn't have happened. He said he would speak to the adult, which he did. That adult should have received a warning that if he shoots someone at that close of range again, he'd be dejected from the game. This was a grown adult man who should know better than to shoot a 13-year old girl in the stomach 8 times at close range. Please consider informing your staff who are taking reservations that games are a mix of kids and adults so parents are correctly informed. Also, when staff is explaining the rules to participants, consider telling participants that actions, like this, will not be tolerated and can result in being asked to leave.

Location is wonderful for folks visiting Northfield and associated colleges, the neighborhood is quiet. The breakfasts are FABULOUS. Normally, I grab something and dash, but the Inn and the breakfasts served gave me an opportunity to take my time, enjoy the food, and sip coffee before my day began. Good breakfast. Cons: This hotel has clearly been updated but not maintained well. The ceiling in the lobby bathroom is leaking and has a bucket catching the water. There is peeling wallpaper, cobwebs in the corner of the room, and a dingy shower tray. There was a large spot on the carpet of our room that was wet and got my suitcase and socks soaking wet. The nice patio overlooking the river closes at 10pm. Also, not to be "that person," but we are Marriott Gold Elite, and typically there is mention of that during check in, a note about the free upgraded WiFi, etc. Not only was there none of that when I checked in, I was initially told at 1:30 that it would be "1-2 hours until your room is ready" because they were busy. When I mentioned that this would be past the check in time and that we had a wedding to get to, I was told I was free to get changed in the lobby bathroom.
