Depending on the size of the crowd, parking and entry can be a breeze or really tough. It is a venue that has a lot of potential, with both the inside of the building and the outdoor field where ABR is held available as potential space. I guess I would say that I feel the ABR is too big for this venue and there are parking issues (not to mention the wrap-around-the-block hour-long wait to get through the gate). Other things I've been to at this facility seemed better suited. For the record, I do think that reusing an old building period is awesome. It's way better than just letting it sit there. :-)

My only gripe was that they did not seem well equipped to handle super cold weather (there were some blankets) but the ceremony was super chilly and I wish the heat was turned on more in the dining area.

I had arrived early to get ready at the bridal suite which was in one of the little buildings. It had the restrooms inside on the first floor & the bridal suite on the second. There were only three of us bridesmaids, but even with others stopping in to see the bride, there was plenty of room to get ready. The best part was that there was a lot of natural lighting & lots of mirrors for us to use. I didn't see the grooms suite but there was a separate building for that as well! The wedding ceremony area had luscious grass with seating benches for the guests & big wooden doors for a grand entrance. It was nice for the wedding party to be able walk down & then have a pause (with doors closed) as the bride stepped up for her entrance. The reception was then held inside the big barn building just off to the side from the ceremony. The space was large with wooden tables & chairs set up for guests. Although we didn't use it, there was a firepit next to the building for use as well! Drinks & appetizers were served before the reception started at the side barn building. It was just a few feet away from the main reception. My favorite though, was the barn space that was first seen when entering the venue from the parking lot. Our friends had opted to utilize it for photos to put inside the guest book! Overall, a cute venue. Since I was a guest, I don't know any of the logistics of touring / reserving the space but my friend (the bride) did say that they're booked up pretty much every weekend!

I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. Can't wait for next ski season!

The building is a perfect space for bringing a large group together for games, chatting, eating, and sledding on the snowy hills just outside the doors. They used to serve hot food, but they no longer have that option. The food was not consistent or anything all that special, but it was a nice option. This time we brought Thanksgiving leftovers and some breakfast bagel sandwiches. The space is well maintained and clean. It is spacious and has lots of room for young kids to run around and not be a disturbance. Always look forward to coming here.

The space is updated, and a number of people mentioned how nicely it was decorated. There is street parking all around, and a couple of lots further down the street. FYI: As with other rental spaces, there is a list of items that you can't use in the space - candles, confetti, etc . . ., but they have it all listed on the website under the FAQs, so you know upfront what you are getting into. Also, you have to clean the space when you are finished using it, not a big deal, just make sure you factor that into the rental time. If I were in need of this kind of space again, I would definitely use this space again.

The owner is great at communicating and gets right back in touch with you. I'm so very pleased!!

This event has fun at every turn from parades to broom making demos to craft vendors to home made treats. The food vendors were reasonably priced and the whole event was well put together. If you go, visit their Facebook page and study up on the details. You may want to rent a golf cart for half the day as the property is very large. Also be aware of the event calendar so you can see those things you were there for. Plan on several hours to be able to explore and enjoy. This is a great event for seniors as so many were telling stories of their childhood memories in these buildings or similar locations. Kids under 12 are free and they have bouncy houses and activities set up for them. Bring your motorheads too as so many old cars are on display. Mark your calendar now and plan ahead. You will be glad you came!

There was rock grinding, a man sawing cedar logs and I got a free red cedar slab which smells heavenly. There are vendors and flea market sellers selling antiques, etc. There are shuttles and tractor wagons if walking isn't your thing. Advice for them: have your flea market towards the parking lot. People don't purchase stuff if they have to carry it around all day. You did get a wrist band so you could trek it to your car and return. I got a locker basket for $5 and used it to carry the red cedar slab. There were also cedar wood signs with log village slow burned into them for $1 donation. Remember the park is only open once a year to the public. The last weekend in July. Weddings, photo sessions, are arranged on their website. Hope to be back next year.

She helped me charge my phone twice as I didn't have a charger. She helped clear my plates at breakfast. She even went above and beyond and got my son a cracker to eat while we waited for the phone to charge back in. We tried the food from their restaurant and it was all divine. The kids Mac and cheese was not KRAFT and had an amazing cheese pull and taste. Justin made sure we were taken care of right away on a busy night. Peggy was telling me how Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have stayed at the Inn. My room specifically was small but I didn't need more than what I had. Next time I would be interested in staying in one of the suites! This is one of Minnesota's oldest operating Inns.
