I attended a wedding and reception here, so didn't get the full Nature Center experience. The ceremony was outside within the beautiful flowers and trees. It was very simple and romantic. The reception was in a covered pavilion. It was a large clean space that had drapes that could open or close depending on the weather. The bathrooms are inside next to the birds. At the time there was a hawk and convalescing bald eagle.

This is a very cute nature center. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There's a Wisconsin campus and a Minnesota campus. This review is for the MN campus. It's free but donations are accepted. It's a great place to bring kids. There an education building with staff. Paved trails, beautiful buildings. It's close to other parks so you can do more than just this in the same trip. I would love to volunteer here someday!

Today must have been an Eagle party day. We saw so many eagles here that it was surprising. Have you seen 8 eagles in the same place before? I saw 8 eagles hanging out oh the thawing ice of the St Croix River. This nature center has employees that are interested in helping and talking to visitors. When we stopped here, first time for us, and we stopped into the Nature Center, not knowing if there were trails around here because they didn't show on google maps. They were holding a community meeting or educational seminar when we arrived. They have several animals on display here to get a good look at some of our creatures. There were not many photos for this place. It is a nice place to stop for a nice view of nature, a walk or just to do something new. They are a Raptor Center, where they help rehabilitate predatory birds. They also have a Great Horned Owl but she seems to molt all at once so they are keeping her in the warmer basement for now. I will have to stop by again to get a picture of such a great bird. This Nature center has some nice trails that run along the river but you have to venture down to is on one of the side paths. We loved this area but the wind was chilly so we didn't walk as much as we would normally. On our way down the riverside trail, we saw 1 eagle just standing on the ice, not too far from shore. On the way back, there were more eagles and then the count was up to 8 eagles in one area standing on the ice. It was cool to see. Please take a minute to enjoy the wildlife photos I have taken. Have a Yelptasic day!!

I have been coming here since 1990. Great slice of riparian forest. An integral part of my life in Hastings.

Visiting the Raptor Center was one of our first dates so it was nice to see and learn more about the owls, hawks and eagles at the nature center.
