Rating only the coffee portion of this business, I was quite pleased with the Latte I had during my initial visit here. My drink was well made with great taste where the coffee shot was defiantly of a premium nature. Definitely a step above the local competition in the area. Price for my large Latte ($6) was in line with other Barista style operations in the area and based on its quality was definitely worth the added cost over the big chain coffee shops. Aside from the coffee based products, this business also serves assorted house made pastries, breads, and some pre made sandwiches that all looked good but definately on the pricey side. Staff is very friendly and the restaurant itself is very bright, modern and inviting with both inside and outside seating, Definately a good spot to meet some friends over coffee and light food. I stopped on a Friday morning for a coffee and to catch up on email. I had a cinnamon thing, like an unrolled cinnamon roll. It was a bit under cooked, which is a rare miss for Cannelle's. The flavor was good. I liked the roll (? - not really a "roll", maybe an "un-roll") was cinamony and not too sweet. The service was friendly. They greeted me, and brought my warmed cinammon thingy and coffee to the table. There are a good number of tables, inside and out. There is wifi. It is loud with talking and music. I was very happy to find out there was a Cannelle so close to me. I did not even know this location was here until I saw someone post about it online. We recently went to the Detroit location and I stopped by to see what this location had. I like that it is nice and spacious with a lot of places to eat inside and outside. The parking is a bit difficult if you park against the building near the street. The people inside were friendly and eager to assist. The selection is good, but it did not seem to have as much as the Detroit location. There were quite a few people eating here even though it was the middle of the week during the day, but I like to see a local business thrive. I tried the very viral mango fruit lookalike pastry. It was good, quite large and seems sharable. I did not finish it and took the rest home. The fruit lookalikes are a bit expensive for what you get, and definitely more expensive than many of their other pastries by several dollars, not sure if it is due to the ingredients or supply and demand. If heaven had a French zip code, it would be any Cannelle by Matt Knio location. But this one's for the new Keego location. And absolutely wow! I could cry from how beautiful the ambiance is. And it's 3 blocks down from my house. So I was jumping for joy when I found out their in my back yard. Let me put it simply: I'm obsessed. I've been to every one of their locations--from Birmingham to Keego Harbor--and the level of excellence is as consistent as the flake on their croissants. Every single item I've ever ordered has been done to utter perfection. And I mean chef's kiss, drop-the-bag, turn-around-and-order-another perfection. The butter croissant? Layers so airy they could be used as building material in a dream. The pistachio cream? Illegal levels of addiction. The savory options (hello, goat cheese + olive) will have you rethinking your loyalty to lunch. And don't even get me started on the cherry and raspberry creations--I've written poems about less inspiring things. Is it dangerous how often I crave this place? Yes. Do I blame them for singlehandedly derailing my "summer body" goals? Absolutely. But every bite is worth it. The only thing flakier than the pastry is me when I say "I'm just getting one thing." Was so excited to try Cannelle, but it was quite a let down. Firstly, there is not enough parking here at all. I've attempted to go in before but each time I pull in there's never parking and I end up leaving because I'm in a rush. Anyhow, today I tried a Pistachio Latte, and it was NOT good. Also ordered 3 pastries and the ones that ended up in my box were wrong but I just didn't want to complain. I was also not a fan of any of the pastries when we took them home for later. I did have an egg and cheese croissant and that was actually very good. I'm not sure I would give this place another chance. I'm not even trying to be a hard critic on this one but I just don't think it was convincing enough for me to want to walk back in here again. The experience I had was just way too irritating. My 3rd time here since opening July 12, 2024. A little on the pricier side but we prefer to consume good quality calories vs junk prepackaged calories off the grocery store shelf. The place is new and clean, very friendly service, a variety of items to choose from with both indoor/outdoor seating. We like the walkable location from home and very happy to have Cannelle by Matt Knio here in Keego Harbor. It would be nice to have senior or quantity discounts and perhaps they do I just haven't asked. 100% recommend!! They recently opened in the neighborhood and we could not be happier. As former frequent visitors of the BHam and Detroit locations, it's great to have one so close to home. The location was good. There were a few small tables for outdoor eating. There were SO many choices of croissants, macarons and other pastries. The staff were pleasant & eager to serve. As I had my young dog with me (held outside by a kind couple), they offered a cup of ice water for him. Tried this patisserie for the first time today...my review in a nutshell: location and ambience are fine; cappuccino was good; cafe au lait was flavorless (milk to coffee ratio was way off); raspberry-almond Brie-filled croissant was too sweet and the Brie was hard to find; and, pain au chocolate was OK but the filling was molten after being "heated" (so room temp may be a better option). The crust of the baguette we bought to try later was soft rather than fresh & crunchy; and, finally, the chicken-artichoke sandwich I bought for lunch turned out to be smoked salmon. It was double-wrapped and put in a bag and our bill said it was the chicken sandwich. My wife ate half and I tossed the other half as it wasn't great and salmon's not my thing. I don't mind paying higher prices for quality but these problems were all service-related. I'll probably give it another shot but maybe in a month or two hoping they get the kinks out. read more
