Some people wake up early to go to the gym. Some people wake up early to be productive members of society. I set an alarm for National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day. When Candy Mountain Creamery announced they'd be opening at 7am for build-your-own waffle ice cream sundaes, I felt personally called to action. Because if you're not celebrating extremely niche food holidays with reckless enthusiasm, what are you even doing? Also working in my favor: I had recently signed up for the Cumberland Valley Coffee & Chocolate Trail, and realized Candy Mountain Creamery was a participating stop. Two birds. One waffle-shaped destiny. Alarm set for 5:45am on a Saturday. Commitment level: alarming. At 7:52am, with temperatures hovering around 15° and wind chills that felt emotionally aggressive, I walked into the shop smiling like a person who makes excellent life decisions. Parking was easy thanks to their strip mall location -- always a win when you're battling winter just to eat dessert for breakfast. I fully expected chaos. Lines. Fellow sugar enthusiasts wrapped in blankets waiting for their moment. Instead? I was the only one there. The universe clearly said, "This is your main character moment." The staff were warm, friendly, and somehow just as excited about ice cream as I was. They told me to pick three flavors and they'd take it from there. My pre-caffeine brain selected: Cherry Cordial, Banana Nut Bread, and Maple -- which in hindsight sounds like the ice cream equivalent of chaotic good energy. While they prepared my masterpiece, I completed my Coffee & Chocolate Trail check-in and used a coupon for a free medium latte, because nothing pairs with ice cream breakfast like financial efficiency. Moments later, they handed me a golden waffle piled high with three enormous scoops and pointed me toward the toppings bar AND a roaring gas fireplace. I nearly ascended. The toppings bar had everything -- Reese's Pieces, whipped cream, strawberry topping, caramel, peanuts -- and I exercised exactly zero restraint. Reese's Pieces? Yes. Peanut butter drizzle? Obviously. Whipped cream? Don't insult me. Then I settled into a cozy chair by the fireplace and proceeded to absolutely demolish this breakfast like a person with no regrets and excellent priorities. The ice cream itself was fantastic -- creamy, flavorful, and distinct enough that each scoop held its own despite my slightly unhinged flavor combo. The latte was piping hot and perfect for balancing out the sugar-fueled chaos. Honestly, aside from the waffle sundae itself, the fireplace deserves its own Yelp listing. I expected to be freezing while eating ice cream before sunrise -- instead I was warm, cozy, and deeply at peace with my life choices. A few other brave souls eventually wandered in, which reassured me that I am not the only person willing to eat ice cream at breakfast in sub-freezing temperatures. I'm giving this place two thumbs way up for their ice cream. As much as I hate to admit it, this place has dethroned my previous favorite for ice cream made inhouse. We stopped by after lunch and some errands. I didn't even know this was here in this little strip of shops. It looks very bland on the outside but inside there are two sections. The first is a modern and clean area where you order your items. The second is a charming farm-vibe area that is warm and inviting. We tried several flavors of the ice cream and ended up with Bunny Eggs (has Cadbury egg pieces inside), Lemon Cookie (has lemon Oreo pieces), Blueberry with lemon cake (blueberry with chunks of lemon cake mixed in), and Heath bar (lots of small pieces of Heath bar candy). Every one of them was excellent. Smooth, creamy, not too sweet, lots of flavor, and the unique flavor was highlighted. I may forever eat lemon Oreos with my vanilla ice cream after that experience. They had lots of great flavors including unique options. I can't speak for the coffee or other items, but the ice cream is a major win. Under $6 for two scoops. Under $5 for one scoop. We had our ice cream in cups, but they have cones including a GF option. I will 100% come here again and again and again. Definitely worth the trip to Dillsburg for this ice cream. Place was spotless. Bathrooms were clean. The person serving was very helpful and answered all of our newbie questions while allowing us to sample a few before making our selections. Great experience! Found this place by chance looking at Google maps for a quick stop during a recent road trip. The three folks working during our visit were pleasant and quick. We had a few questions before ordering. The staff member we talked with was helpful, seemed happy to explain things, and was comfortable offering suggestions. They were out of several flavors of ice cream, but then our visit was only about 45 min before they closed. We ended up ordering three ice cream treats and an espresso drink. All tasted great and were served quickly. If this place were nearby home, we'd definitely be back! read more

Food has always been good. Service has gone down hill recently. Last 2 times our family was there, about once every few months, something is not proper about the way things are being done. Prior visit, the teenagers were flirting/canoodling at the front and they hadnt paid attention to their inventory--asked for 2 flavors they had no more of and they hadnt put caps on. Last time, this past week, I wanted to try the butterfinger flavor & the pineapple upside down cake. They messed up the order and gave me all pineapple upside down cake--and retrospectively--I think the other employee saw it and said nothing (her eyes grew large and she just stared...like striking behavioral change). They need to get rid of the clickish teenagers....or do some serious overhaul. read more

Come for the unique flavors! This is the only spot in the area that serves ube (purple yam) brownie ice cream. I topped it off with coconut ice cream and I was in tropical ice cream heaven! My LO ordered the Superman, which consists laffy taffy and a mix of other flavors. It was so colorful and yummy. I look forward to trying the rest of the ice cream menu! To top it off, the place was clean and inviting with friendly service. They offer outdoor seating with some awesome rocker chairs and plenty of parking in the strip mall. They also serve hot, cold and frozen drinks, ice cream cakes, pastries, as well as breakfast and lunch. We will be back. read more

This is our 1st time visiting this establishment. The parking lot is a nice size, so there are no issues with parking. The inside is not huge, but there is still plenty of seating. There is also an outside for the warmer months. I got the caramel Macchiato latte for $5.25. However, she charged me 70 cents for changing from normal caramel to salted caramel. I'm not sure why I didn't ask. My brother went with the Peppermint mocha latte seasonal drink. We decided to try their food. I went with a simple egg and sausage sammie on an English muffin for $5.25, and my brother had the bacon burrito for $6.25. My drink was not wonderful. I couldn't even taste the caramel until I got to the very bottom. I guess the girl didn't really stir my drinks. My brother couldn't hardly taste the Peppermint. In his way, it was not amazing. My sandwich was nothing wonderful or awful. The low review comes from the burrito it was awful. If you can see from the picture, you can't even see a piece of bacon. There was a little piece of bacon, hardly any cheese, and no seasoning on the eggs at all. It was basically an egg burrito. My brother said the homemade salsa it was served with made it edible. We should have complained honestly but didn't. Don't think I'd go back, If I did, it would be to try the ice cream. read more

Their food and ice cream is delicious! Took the grandkids here and they loved the fun ice cream names! The server spoke directly to the kids and helped decide quickly what they'd like best.
