Thought this would satisfy my sweet tooth, but it did not. Like most advertising, this did not look as good as the signs or menu. Essentially, it is deep fried dough, and then topping are added. Asked the server for a recommendation, and he suggested the Avalanche, which is crushed pieces of Skor candies, on top of a cheesecake frosting. Unfortunately, it was a bit tasteless and very greasy. After a few small bites I ended up tossing it out. I could not get anyone else interested in trying it. Not a place that I would recommend.

When it was my turn I got their Sticky Bun and Apple Square. There is limited seating inside. Even though it was very busy we scored a few counter seats, which allowed me to enjoy my sticky bun and White Mocha before heading to Maligne Lake. I liked them both, I'd rate them as about average. What I really liked was my Apple Square that I ate hours later. It was crumbly with a lot of apple flavor. Service was efficient and fine. We are glad we stopped in.

The Other Paw is a coffee shop with fresh pastries baked on the premises. I wanted something that I haven't seen in US and got the Butter Maple Pecan Danish for $3 CAN (about $2.40 USD). Unlike US Danish, it's thinner and less sweet. The nutty topping was delicious. The danish was on the drier side but still good. They also have sandwiches, salads, desserts and coffee. Great place to stop for a coffee/tea break after walking around down and have lunch.

Gayle's gobbled up choice didn't make it to our train (Via Canadian towards Vancouver), while I saved mine for coffee on board. Unfortunately, Gayle and I just scratched the surface of this place as there's cakes, pastries, and other goodies (plus coffee). I wish we could come back. There's also the main Bear's Paw a few blocks away, which shouldn't make any difference, except for maybe the size of the line-up.

My reviews won't change much except for the location. This shop in Jasper, AB and is pretty much the same as the Tim Hortons by me, except for size, and seating in New York. They are on a man street with a bus stop right in front of the store. Very convenient. Usually every time I have walked into or visited a Tim Hortons I am greeted well and served quickly. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I drink my coffee black so any backup by the sugar and other add-ons doesn't usually affect me, and I see this type of slow down no matter where the coffee comes from. Their food was fresh and I assume they get it delivered or created multiple times during the day. There is nothing worse than eating an old donut, bagel or muffin. Kudos to this team for keeping their location up to the standards of the other "Tim Horton " locations, and keeping the line flowing so well.
