I have been to Jasper so many times in my life and never once stopped in here. Why haven't I? No idea. But I did finally. Post dinner a walk around the town has us stumble upon this place in search of something sweet. We wanted ice cream and fudge. We actually didn't know they had ice cream here. There is so many different sweet treats! It was really busy. But I didn't notice because there was so much delicious treats to look at. Picked up some chocolate and fudge. Freshly glazed Caramel apples lure you in from the front window. As you enter the shop the sweets smells welcome you. They have a large selection of fudge. I bought some maple flavoured and it is creamy, sweet and delicious. All the fudge comes in roughly the same size so it will last you a good while. As a child my family would always get Bear Claws when visiting the Rockies ... they are a combo of pecans,caramel, dark of milk chocolate and cashews. This shop had some amazing bear claws. They have excellent selection of all sorts of Chocolate /nut/caramel combos. I even bought a Naked Bear Claw which consisted only of pecans and caramel which was amazing even without the chocolate. They even have a variety of popcorn. You also can find al sorts of prepackaged candy like liquorice and sort other European imports. The only down fall is that it can be pricey and add up quick. Be sure to savoury these treats and enjoy every bite. read more

I'm not much of a sweet tooth, and I never go out of my way to get chocolate or candy - unless I'm in Jasper. Candy Bear's Lair is a must visit for me any and every time I'm in town. They have a great selection of handmade in-house chocolates and treats, including candy apples and ice cream. My absolute favourite is the chocolate coconut balls. I want to buy dozens of them, bring them home and put them in my freezer. Most of their candies and chocolates have cute names like Glaciers, Bear Paws, Elf Hoofs and so on. Luckily for me I don't actually have to hoard them as they have an online ordering system! Check out all of the cute bear souvenirs and of course the giant stuffed teddy outside that you are bound to take your picture with. read more

A pretty great little candy shop. I liked all the treats that were available. Lots to catch the eye. I would have bought one of the Harry Potter folding metal kits but they didn't have any available of the one that was on display. Regardless lots of neat things (flavours of Kit-Kat!) to see and it seemed to be a great shop for tourists on this street. read more

Not sure how good they are because they decided to close early. We were here at 8:25 and they are trying to lock the door already. Everything was covered up and we were the last customers who got two ice cream cones. On our way out. We went to get ice cream and asked to taste some ice cream samples and they mentioned they will offer only we buy ice creams, so wee got two samples after assuring them we would but and when we asked for the third one the girl said this would be the last sample in a ride time, very unfriendly staff, although the ice cream taste was good. 4 words chocolate covered sponge toffee. I had some inside out turtle thing which was good. But that sponge toffee was outta this world. The young lady that helped us also gave me a sample of strawberry popcorn which I thought I chipped a tooth on thankfully I didn't. Super awesome super sweet. Couldnt eat mich more than the sample she gave me. my mom had a moose knuckle which was similar to a turtle just a lot bigger. I've never taken the time to explore Jasper before so to find this place just made the day. anytime I'm in Jasper I will be stopping at the store. awesome! read more

The food seems ok, we ordered frozen yogurt and shaved ice, but I can't believe they only give small sampling size spoons for free and charge 20 cents for the regular size plastic spoons! This is probably the first place in earth I have seen that charge for regular size plastic spoons! That's where this two stars are from. read more

I fill up on candy here because it has become a ritual when in Jasper. Beware the medium-sized single gummy bear which at $18 or so is very pricey, and yet doesn't taste good, according to my fourteen year old. I like their coconut-based chocolates and chocolate covered ginger. read more
