Are you from the UK and homesick? did you used to live in…read morethe UK and miss it or want to take a trip down memory lane? Do you have oddly specific cravings for food from across the pond? Do you have a need for proper British products? Then come on down to the British Shop. It's a quaint place for souvenirs and snacks. Very cute around the holidays (and in general).

They have beautiful sets of mixing bowls that remind me of the Great British Bake Off show. I saw the traditional teapots that you see all over the English countryside. There's snacks, chocolates, hard candies, tea, frozen pies, curry sauces, cheese, and even ice cream. I felt like I was back in Woodbridge, England. I honestly haven't seen this many grocery items in one place since being stationed over there. It really brought back great memories. I ended up buying some sweets. I was mainly looking for a box of Cadbury Roses, and some hard fruit candies with soft centers. I can't remember the brand name. I ended up getting the Cadbury Bournville bar in the Old Jamaica flavor. I thought it had been discontinued. This is actually the first time I've seen it in years. I also got the Simpkins Mixed Fruit Drops. It's the simple things that make me happy. All tasted exactly as I remembered them to be. I didn't get to hang out at the store long enough. I think that's a good thing, because I would have bought the Cadbury Eclairs and the Walkers Roasted Hazelnut Toffee bars. I'll need to pace myself. I can't wait to return for more goodies. It will be even more tempting at Christmas time when they bring in seasonal candies (hopefully liquor filled), and tree ornaments.

The presentation alone is worth it colorful, over-the-top, and perfect for photos. The service was fast and attentive, and the atmosphere is super vibrant and kid-friendly. Yes, the two items I tried off the holiday menu were excellent. And wow, my server Taylor was full of good cheer. She took this already happy holiday visit to the next level. She "sleighed"!!!! I love going to the casino. I always feel like I'm far away on vacation... not just the road. But in all my visits to this Hard Rock, I'd never stopped at Sugar Factory until now. I'm so glad this was my first impression. This place gives off the cheeriest holiday glow. From the moment I was greeted by staffers in Christmas costumes, I knew this was going to be great. I was seated on the "patio," since there was a very festive private holiday party in the main dining space. I liked my spot! It was peaceful-with a great view of the revealers. After studying the fun and photogenic holiday menu, I went with the Christmas sliders (cheeseburgers with crispy onions) and the Jack Daniels punch. Wow!!!! Both of these... so, so good! The sliders were cooked to perfection-and the vibrant-hued buns had a nice "crunch" to them. I actually said out loud:"man, these are good." The cute snowman mug full of the equally delightful punch (it was apple based, with all the warm spices. Fantastic!) winked back at me. Taylor suggested the punch and I'm so glad. I'm still smiling over how fun and helpful she was. I can't say enough about this visit. I can't wait to go back. This could become a regular Friday thing for me. I'm also starting the countdown clock till the next holiday season! Oh! And it's an easy walk form the free parking in the Lucky Street garage. I'm all in on Sugar Factory!
