This is insanely good!!!! Sister in law said let's have pizza for dessert, shows up with pizza strawberry with pecan crust (they have other crust options too)! I couldn't stop mesmerizing it! Happy to check off the Berry Barn off my Strawberry Passport list. I can say this was a newbie spot for me. I ordered my free milk shake. While this was not my fave, it was still good. Why didn't I love it. I miss the whip cream on it. I didn't want to pay extra for it. It's very thick. Tasted like ice cream. It's hard to drink through a straw because of that even when I let it melt a lot. Either way, it was still good and I would call it ice cream which I do love ice cream. It is sweeter, and it didn't have an aftertaste so it is good in its own special way. Service was fine and I ordered right away after waiting in line for a bit but that line was fast moving. It's strawberry season, so I will expect a line on the weekend. My husband on the other hand couldn't understand the line but oh well, I was the one waiting for it. Ambiance - about a few handful of picnic tables under the cover and many tables not under the shade on the side or in the back with a view of the strawberry fields. They didn't have much to sell on their produce stand. They did have honeys and sauces, and jams. And that's a separate pay area than the long line for shortcakes, milkshakes, and strawberry pizzas! If you haven't been to the Berry Barn in Dover, Florida you have been missing out! The strawberry shortcake with whipped cream is phenomenal! The berries are so sweet with the cake and whipped cream are amazing as well. The service is very good and my order was out very quickly considering how many people are here. They have nice sitting area outside where the kids can run around and play right next to the strawberry fields. So if you have an opportunity to come out here I would definitely suggest you make it out here. You will not be disappointed. read more

We drove down the road to the 711 to withdraw cash from the ATM. We did want berries and some other goodies sold here after working up a sweat and appetite from climbing in Edward Medard park. Berries were $18 for a box, 32 Oz Cajun boiled peanuts were $5, $4 for large strawberry shake. This is the same great place that we've been going to for years to get our strawberries, shakes, shortcake, and pies. It used to be called Brandon Farms Market, but it's now called Berry Barn. I believe they changed ownership, but the product is still the same. We visited this past Friday afternoon. It was kind of in remembrance of my aunt and cousin from New York. We brought them here a couple of years ago, and they loved it. They have passed on since that time. Anyway, I remember how happy my cousin was when he saw the local honey (which they still sell here). He got the Orange Blossom Honey, but I personally love the Gallberry Honey. It's always busy, but the line goes fast. The ordering process is very organized. I love that they have outdoor and indoor seating options. By indoor, I mean that it's covered (like a lanai without a screen) and there are ceiling fans. We chose a seat under one of the many ceiling fans since it was very hot and humid day. I had the strawberry milk shake and my mother had the strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. As usual, they serve you a very generous portion of berries and cake. So much so, that mom had to take the rest home with her. They have awesome strawberry tarts, pies, and other strawberry delicacies. I can't go there without ordering a small shake. It's my favorite. What I love about this market is that you can walk around back and actually see the strawberry fields. The parking situation has changed since it was Brandon Farms. We used to be able to park along the fence to the right of the market, but I noticed it wasn't being used this time. We had to find parking in a smaller area to the left of the market. Not good on a busy day. They have a nice outdoor seating area which wasn't there before. Oh, and they still only accept cash. Other than that, it's a great local gem! This is my go-to place for getting a box of big, fresh, juicy strawberries for a great price. I have been coming here with my mom since I was a little kid. This place previously used to be named Brandon Farms Market, but now they are Berry Barn - the name changed a couple of years ago. I only get to come here a few times every year so I always make sure to enjoy my visit here every time! Not only am I getting a box of their fabulous strawberries (they also sell pints of strawberries), but I always get a strawberry shake and strawberry shortcake at their cafe. The shake is amazing, I can never resist. I usually share the strawberry shortcake - you can get whipped cream or ice cream. My tastebuds are always in heaven when eating these treats. They have outdoor seating and now there are additional seating in the back of the store building where you get a lovely view of their strawberry farm. Yes, their farm is literally behind the store! No wonder why their strawberries taste like they just picked them from the farm :) Before you go, make sure to bring some cash with you - they do not accept cards here. Nothing like fresh, juicy strawberries with whipped cream and moist cake. You can order it to go and ask to have the components in separate containers. They also sell boxes of berries for $5 and a variety of jams. This would be a great place to come for gifts with a local flare. We didn't purchase the berries, but they looked as though they were picked at peak ripeness and we could see the pickers out in the fields while we were there. I thought we might be able to pick our own berries, but this is not a you-pick farm. Still, great quality berries and nice dessert options. The staff was pleasant as well. Love this place. I try to go every strawberry season, but I don't always make it. It used to be called Brandon Farms and is definitely a Brandon landmark (to me anyway). They changed their name several years ago and they've made a lot of really awesome changes over the years and now have the picnic tables out back where you can sit and enjoy your strawberry shortcake or whatever other treat you decided to get. The picnic tables overlook the strawberry field. They have fresh fruits and vegetables in season and boiled peanuts. It is not a huge selection of items, but everything is HIGH quality and reasonably priced. My big draw is the local honey and well, of course the strawberry shortcake, which you can get with or without the shortcake and/or with or without whipped cream, vanilla soft serve ice cream or both! They have other options too, shakes, pie etc.... if you are hungry they also have a limited menu with hot dogs, smoked sausage, etc... Just go, you won't be disappointed.... Came to Brandon Farms during the middle of Strawberry Festival since I NEEDED to indulge on strawberry shortcake but couldn't make it out to Plant City for the festival. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, walked up to the window to place our order. The ladies weren't unfriendly, but almost seemed slightly annoyed that we were there. We got our shake and shortcake within 2 minutes = speedy fast!! Sitting out by the strawberry field is so relaxing, especially with perfect weather.... until I got bitten by ants all over my feet. My fault for wearing sandals! The strawberries were sweet and perfect. Definitely hit my shortcake craving! The 1 slice(half order) was more than enough for one person, 2 slices (full order) would be good for sharing. They also have a small area for a few veggie selections and strawberries, but both times I have stopped by they have been out of almost everything. Cash only! read more

Great establishment, especially if your wanting to grab a quick bite to eat on your way to Plant City/Valrico. Their different strawberry-related foods (milkshakes, shortcakes, and even pizza?) all taste great, although some foods do take a little bit of time (the hotdogs, for instance), but it's usually only 10 mins or less so it's really not a huge deal unless your in a crunch. The seating area is also quite nice, especially the back with a nice view of the strawberry field out back. A solid 8/10 for me. read more
