Well, I really wanted to like this place. I love the atmosphere. I am a huge fan of reusing and…read morecelebrating old buildings. The choices that seem to have gone into the reuse of materials and the decorating style get 5 stars from me. The two staff members we interacted with couldn't have been any nicer or more attentive. From the first greeting to saying goodbye, they were great. The plate presentation was unusual, but very attractive. All of that said, this is still a restaurant. I had a Brisket Burger. The burger itself on the pretzel roll was ok, but the Brisket..... I have lived in Texas all of my life. I have had Brisket from some truly talented pit masters, and I always judge it by the tenderness, smoke ring, and bark. This was mushy and wet (not moist, more like it was boiled?) and very pale with little taste. If this did start as Brisket, then what was done to it is borderline criminal. Overheard another customer talking to the owner (I believe), commenting on the unusual choice of cornbread waffles with the Chicken Fried Chicken, and her response was that she was from "up North", and didn't understand "Texas Toast" served down here. Maybe that is the issue. When you hear a name like "Let's Eat Texas" you are expecting food cooked a certain way, with a certain taste. Maybe they should rename it "Let's Eat New Jersey", at least then you would know what you were getting into.

Off the beaten path but well worth a visit. Here's the thing about Quilt Shops - the fabric…read moreselection is often tailored to the owner's preferences, which makes perfect sense. That means that you should visit multiple shops to find the ones that fit your aesthetic as well. This shop has so many beautiful fabrics to choose from in addition to all of the notions, patterns and books you might expect. I found several fabric lines I hadn't seen before, even though they were my 10th shop on the All Texas Shop Hop. Even though my fabric stash is bursting at the seams, I still walked away with 2 new yards of a beautiful Art Gallery Fabric. They also have a lovely selection of pre-cuts and fabric panels, but what I loved most - beyond the friendly and helpful shopkeeper - was the "Make your own Jelly Roll" wall - where you could pick and choose what fabric strips you want in 2 1/2 in size like a traditional jelly roll. How many times have I purchased a jelly roll because I liked one or two prints? more than I'd care to mention if I'm honest. This gives you the option to pick the strips you want to include, without having to buy yardage and do the cutting yourself. The ONE thing I didn't see was a selection of Tula Pink Fabric lines - which is 100% fine by me but for the die-hard Tula fans, just know you will find so much more to finish out your project with, but if you are looking specifically for Tula, this isn't your shop. Definitely give them a visit if you are in the central Texas region. I'll definitely look to head back out before starting my next project.

I am not much of a natural, artsy, crafty person, but the information you can receive from this…read morestore can give the plainest person wonderful, creative ideas! The store associates are always willing to help, and I'm so thankful for that because I'm always needing some kind of assistance. LOVE the fact that practically everything there is 50% off. And if it's not, I've got my reusable 40% off coupon that you can find online Love the fact that all the decorations there are original. Most of the items you can only find at hobby lobby. It's not like I can go into any department store and find the same wall art everywhere I go. I found a flower bunch that was $26 ALONE at Walmart... but at hobby lobby, I was able to create my own, and the flowers look almost exactly the same as the bunch I had seen earlier for only $1.50 a flower and $3.50 for the pot at hobby lobby, I spent $9.50 total per flower pot arrangement!!! Overall all great product for my money, and great staff. Definitely recommend this store!!

I used to love coming to this Hobby Lobby location and decorating my home with items from here, but…read morerecently my experiences have been completely ruined by the attitude of some of the employees. Over the last 2 months, one Hispanic young employee with red hair has made every visit extremely unpleasant with rude behavior and a terrible attitude. Today, she was also constantly staring at us in a very judgmental way and making us feel extremely uncomfortable the entire time we were shopping. No customer should feel watched or judged just for being in the store. The older cashier with glasses at the register was also openly looking us up and down and came across as very judgmental and unwelcoming. Customers should not feel uncomfortable or judged while simply trying to shop. It's disappointing because this used to be one of my favorite stores, but the customer service lately has been awful. I really wish management would hire kinder, more professional employees instead of people with constant attitudes toward customers.
