Can't really add anything new to my review that others haven't already said so imo Canard lives up to the hype. We were lucky to find parking out front as even on 5:00 on a weekday their small lot and most of the surrounding spaces on the street were full. The greeting once we were in the door was friendly, we got seated quickly and met our server right away. She made a few recommendations and let us look over the menu for a perfect amount of time before taking our order. The food came out quickly but spaced nicely between apps (burrata and steam burgers)/drinks (rhubarb soda and wine) and mains (scallops and duck frites). One interesting thing to note: my scallops didn't look at all like the pics I saw from other reviewers on Yelp before we went. Not sure if they changed the components of the dish recently, but what I got seemed very different than what others have gotten/posted even recently as a week ago but NO complaints - they were AMAZING! If I had to find *anything* negative I would say that service slowed down quite a bit as it got later and the restaurant filled up but that happens a lot wherever we go and it wasn't enough to knock it down a star. Our overall experience was a great one and we'll be back. read more

Had a celebratory lunch here recently and could not be more delighted. The space is lovely, as is the service (the opposite of the Burnside location). Do not sleep on the merguez sausage dish - it's like Spring on a plate. Delicious! Parking is tricky. read more

I met a friend for lunch here. What a great restaurant. The food was excellent. We had steam burgers, garlic fries, and Cobb wedge salad which were all excellent. We had a lovely lunch at Canard. The menu is good for sharing in my opinion. Plates are on the rich side. The steamed slider was a nice start, thin shaved pickles, heavy on the cheese, just the right balance of condiments and only a few bites. I found the fired chicken strips a bit on the dark side and fairly oily, the dipping sauce was a good balance to the bonito flakes, but I doubt I'd do it again. Mac and cheese rounded out the meal and I am so happy I had someone to share it with, guessing I got a months worth of fat and cholesterol in half a portion, the point of a good Mac and cheese, heart stopping goodness. Our server provided everything we could have wanted for a high end luncheon. Providing courteous, friendly and delightful service the whole meal. The space is bigger than I'd have thought from the outside, a huge fancy bar takes up a large central location downstairs with tables and banquets filling the rest of the two downstairs areas, upstairs we were told is a favorite for private events and frequented often by Nike groups. did you know that Canard opened a new location in Beaverton? my partner and i had our date night last night. we usually drive all the way to Portland for a nice restaurant that serves top notch food, cocktails, and dessert--but this time, we got to have all that right here Beaverton! we were SO excited to try this new dinner spot, and it did not disappoint! we each started with a cocktail and shared the foie gras dumplings. i loved the Mr. Balloon Hands drink! it had a nice, well-balanced herbal flavor without tasting medicinal. the foie gras dumplings were an explosion of flavors and the dumpling almost literally melts in your mouth. next, for the main meal, i had the steak and frites while my partner opted for the braised rabbit, and we shared an old fashioned cocktail between us. my steak was a perfect medium rare, perfectly juicy, tender, and seasoned. we managed to share a couple of bites of our meals with each other, but it was difficult to share. my partner left not a bit of meat on the rabbit bones and i left not a single morsel on my plate. it was the perfect amount of food--we felt full after without feeling super heavy. also, the old fashioned (my go-to) was perfect. finally, we finished off with the s'more cake. this might be where we went wrong... it was a bit bigger than we expected. it was a rich, sweet, and dense experience, especially with the layer of toasted marshmallow covering the whole top of the cake. we ate the whole thing, it was so good! but we kind of regretted it (in a good way--you know the feeling). after hearing rumblings of Canard moving to Beaverton for so long, i'm so happy they are officially open, giving the community a wonderful new dining option. the space, atmosphere, and menu offerings are so versatile--it will is a great option no matter if you're looking to have a casual lunch with a friend or a fancy date night with your love. read more

Vibes were great, but my meal was only okay. The chicken on my chicken and waffles was chicken strips that were overdone. I don't remember anything about how the waffle tasted. The portion was also pretty small. Two chicken strips and half a waffle for the entree. Maybe I got the wrong food, but I'm not clamoring to return. read more

The Mac and cheese here was absolutely delicious! In fact, everything I've tried here was great. My friends think the menu is too limited, but I feel they have something for everyone! If you have a hard time hearing, this place has high ceilings so it's kind of "echo-loud" if that makes sense! Food is great! read more

We went for a birthday brunch, so a group of 10. We had a reservation but were seated incredibly promptly with our table all set up. Our server was fantastic and patient with a large group with 3 kids. We had so many of the menu items and I don't think anything disappointed! The Benedict wasn't anything particularly special but was executed well. The Duck Stack and Gnocchi were phenomenal, and I could have ordered just the Sunrise steamies and been a happy camper. What a joy to see this Beaverton landmark turned into such a beautiful space. Popped in last minute and sat at the bar to enjoy a some apps and a glass of wine. Service was impeccable, timely and informative. Pricing was a little spendy but the food was good and the soft serve sundaes was a delightful surprise. Fish and chips. Way over priced for the 3 1.5oz pieces, slightly dry but the hand breading was good. The sauce.... I have no clue what it was but it didn't go well with the fish. Had high expectations and have to admit we were let down on food, value and most certainly Ambiance. Our table was in the corner and the floor was so slanted my end of the table was way too high to eat comfortably. I had to stare not at my date but at the guy at the end of the banquette, as did my wife at the guy down the other side. It was awkward for all 4 of us. The best thing I had was the oysters which is a matter of sourcing and not technique. The steamed buns needed half the bun and cheese and twice the meat. They were dry, sloppy and patties uneven. The mushroom gnocchi was good but too expensive for the tiny portion and the deviled eggs were so ice cold no flavor came thru other than smoke from the bacon. $14 for 2 frigging eggs, give me a break. The trout roe couldn't stand up to the bacon, maybe use salmon instead or unchill the fridgerated eggs so the flavors can come out. And your doors... every person I saw go in and out pushed when they needed to pull and vice versa. How is it not a fire hazard that your doors open inward? Glad Beaverton has added a French restaurant hope they work out the kinks. read more

There is no common thread to the dishes, other than they are all overly spiced We reserved a table at 8:30 on a Saturday night and we started with cocktails that underwhelmed and we were informed that we needed to get our orders in because the kitchen was shutting down. We would've liked to have maybe lingered a little longer to enjoy dessert or an after dinner drink but the staff seemed eager to close. Not a good first impression. read more
