The different plant varieties and climate environments (tropics, arid, etc) were wonderful to experience and shows this place is run by people who care about plants. The plants in each section were well taken care of, and the design with the pyramids separating the different ecosystems was pretty unique. There's also a koi pond here. It'll probably take about an hour or less to walk through all the plant exhibits. They also sell plants too in the gift shop area. They have a small cafe to rest, but the drink was okay.

I can't even count the number of times I've driven past this building over the years. I drive by it…read moreat least once a week. There never was a reason for me to go there - until now. The building houses the offices of many provincial associations. It's a pretty sterile-looking building - reminded me of a hospital or clinic or something only without the sick people, wheelchairs or stretchers. There was what I presumed to be an information desk on the left of the inner door. I almost approached the counter there but there was no need. I spotted my destination across the way. Just beyond the desk was a large lobby area where they had the BBC showing on a projection TV. A couple of people seemed to be setting up for some sort of meeting possibly. It would be a great place for it. FYI - the visitor parking is directly in front of the main, front entrance. There are like 4 spots there. Sorry, but that was a little too obvious for someone like me who just pulled into an empty spot despite that it said "Staff Only" and threatened that I'd be towed. (I wasn't).

The PPC is definitely an older and sterile Alberta government building. There are over 70 non-profits on here between the three floors with access to storage in the basement, the boardrooms, and there's even a small gym. Yes, it's older and not fancy, but it is so handy to have, and when you are a non-profit having office space like this that is provided at such a small fee is so helpful to the bottom lines. Thank you, government!!

If you live in Beaumont, at one time or another, you've received that special picture in the mail…read morethat made you famous - the ticket that says you can just pay... or fight your ticket. I have to say, ever since they quashed the ability to negotiate tickets without actually going to court, there has been a flood in the court system as it is the only way to fight your ticket. It's a waste of people's time and the financial cost I can only imagine. The old system where you could at least plead guilty to a lesser driving offense and pay the ticket the same day was far more user friendly in my opinion. At least compared to Edmonton, the parking is free lol. The also take all forms of payment (including Amex)... but I think they stop at first borns, although there's some ticket costs that are so high, people might consider it if it was an option :)

I don't need to go to the library to get a good book, I can get one instantly from a list of available books. Did I say how much I love Libby? I love Libby! Libby helps me keep track of characters in murder mysteries, it allows me to check the meaning of a newly encountered word, it also lets me highlight sections and take notes for the next time I borrow a book that I might read again.
