I really love this new library they've added to the Millwoods area. They have a huge selection of books, magazines, DVDs, etc.. to accommodate any reading/viewing preference. You name it and I'm pretty sure they have it available for you. It's clean and the staff are really helpful (when you can find one) and will answer any question you have to the best of their ability. Sadly though they seem to be understaffed at times, so you may have to hunt around for someone if you need help and/or wait awhile in line when checking out your items. Another thing I noticed is the internet is really slow, almost dial up slow. I don't know if that's due to all the kids playing Minecraft and other games on it, but just something I felt I would include because at times it can be painfully slow.
The only reason I'm not giving this location a 5 star rating (aside from what I mentioned above) is due to the constant screaming children. I understand that children just like anyone else need to borrow books, DVDs and other items. It's just extremely hard to focus on what you're doing when you've got children constantly screaming. I usually sit down and read at the opposite end of the children's area and I can still hear them as loud as if I was directly next to them. Most of the time I've noticed the Moms couldn't seem to care at all about their child screaming, almost treating the library like a daycare service. When a child is screaming non-stop for 10-15+ minutes it just ruins the entire atmosphere of the building for everyone. So I wish the staff would maybe step up and say something when this happens to the mothers. Obviously babies/kids cry, but when the parent doesn't even acknowledge it and/or ignore it all together - something needs to change. So if this bothers you like it bothers me, plan to go in the evening like I do. I just can't go during the daytime anymore for this very reason.
Other than that, this place is amazing and a must visit if you're in the area. read more
