The only thing that creeps me out about this location is the close proximity to the health clinic next door. I can almost smell the disinfectant in the library. Other than the "too-clean" smell, I really like this library. It doesn't have quite the historic feeling that the strathcona branch does, but it does have quite an extensive children's section and also some computers available for searching and even some comfortable chairs to sit in. If you get a chance to hit this library up, I would recommend it. It really is a nice location.

I was quite happy to visit this location recently for an event I was helping to host. The staff are very helpful and the building itself is of some really neat new construction. If I lived in the area, I would certainly visit again!

A huge improvement over the old branch and then the temporary branch that we had for quite a long…read moretime. The larger space, super tall ceilings and windows everywhere make for a light and airy environment. The first time I visited the staff greeted me and my husband and explained the new branch to us. The second time we were in they were about to launch into the same thing, but then recognized us and said "Oh you guys are already old pros." That was pretty cute and it's nice to be remembered. Whereas the staff at the temporary branch seemed to be rotating, the people here seem to be permanent. There are several computers on both levels. I like the area upstairs with a couple of low tables and chairs beside the window. Perfect for reading or doing some work on your laptop. The selection isn't the same as Milner or one of the bigger branches, but some of the sections are worth browsing through. I always reserve my books online and just pick them up at the branch, but I was recently able to just pick it up right off the shelf here. A very welcome addition to the neighbourhood!

Both of those are right near the front so it's easy to get in and out when you're in a hurry. We also check out the occasionally video game; getting games from the library is a great way to try them out if you're not sure they're worth purchasing. Customer service here has always been excellent whenever I've needed help and overall the branch feels cozy and calm. There are plenty of computers and lots of tables for people to spread out and read. Woodcroft isn't the newest or the fanciest EPL branch but it still has everything you need in a community public library.

When did it become O.K. to walk around and talk loudly on your cell phone? Why do customers and staff carry on loud coversations with utter disregard for the patrons trying to read? I just couldn't believe I was in a library. Aside from that, they did not have any of the books on my list. They were not checked out, they simply did not exist. The location is great, but I won't go back. My local EPL is better.

Like most libraries, it's quiet here, but the nice thing, is the traffic is also fairly light, so there isn't the same in-out commotion of larger branches, so I guess you could say it's quieter than many libraries. They also have a nice selection of audio and video here. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I also liked this branch because it was clean, new and very bright with comfy, big chairs. This is a great way to pass a few hours on a free afternoon, just you and words on a page. Sounds decadent to me!

As a father I use the large kids play area that is on the main floor and somewhat segregated from…read morethe main library. There are computers and iPad and other games and activities that cater to different age groups. The two family bathrooms in this area are good because the main bathrooms can have some unsavoury characters in there sometimes. The plaza outside of kids area windows has been under construction resurfacing the square for a long time. It's directly south of the library and hopefully it will be available soon. There is a Second Cup coffee shop in entrance way lobby which is a nice option but there are other cafes downtown that have better coffee and food offerings in my opinion. The interactive screen in front lobby is always a hit for my kids. And there is a smaller screen that is behind the large main display. The new LRT line goes directly in front of the library which should be good for access. There are often houseless people in the area and often in front of the library entrance or inside the library. If you're bringing children, be vigilant and always aware of your surroundings especially outside of the library. Both my children got library memberships before they turned one and the EPL gives a free children's book upon sign up. You can look through their selection and choose the book.

I visited the 24 hour drop slot - and it hasn't moved. Sadly, the construction crews had blocked the accessible ramp - so there were only stairs to the ramp... although after hours, I'm not sure how many other folks would be visiting to return books. The photos look amazing, and all the amenities from "THE WALL" - an interactive GIANT touch screen, to the Makerspace, to Gamerspace, Outreach services to the PÎYÊSÎW WÂSKÂHIKAN (Thunderbird House) is their first dedicated Indigenous space that is built for ceremony and gatherings. Coming soon are the EPL Kitchen, Muttart Theatre and Second Cup Coffee Co. (thank goodness). I can't wait to see it all myself, but for now, I'll look through the glass and dream about lounging indoors again.

From outside it's a quirky building and inside it's really well laid out with computers, printers, makers space, of course books and a welcoming reception area. I nipped in to do some printing but can't wait to come back and spend some time here. The parking lot has plug ins which I thought was a nice touch. There is also plenty of street parking too.

LOVE love LOVE this library!…read more For a small town library, it totally rocks! The kids area is great - complete with a Arthurian tent to phone a mystery phone recording on, a wooden bus you can sit on with your kids, and plenty of natural light. They have a phenomenal summer reading program for kiddos! The adult sections are pretty good and if they don't have what you want they can order it in from another library. I love how it's conveniently located in City Hall. It's nice to stop in for a break from the Farmer's Market on a hot summer's day. There is a beautiful winding staircase to the second level or an elevator if you prefer - my toddler likes to do both, severl times, every visit! The only thing that would make this library better is if the memberships were free - I mean come on St. Albert, the taxes are HIGH enough to warrant a free library membership :-)

This gives me a way to read that doesn't disturb my partner while letting me brush away the cares of the day from my busy mind. My eyes start to close and I turn my phone off. I don't need to go to the library to get a good book, I can get one instantly from a list of available books. Did I say how much I love Libby? I love Libby! Libby helps me keep track of characters in murder mysteries, it allows me to check the meaning of a newly encountered word, it also lets me highlight sections and take notes for the next time I borrow a book that I might read again. If I want to see a picture of some plant or architectural feature or type of hat mentioned in the text, Libby makes it easy to google for an image. Yes I love Libby.

I was also helped with requesting a novel into circulation. There are so many things you can do online. Cool site. This location rocks. It's in an historic building. It's busy but quiet. I like to sit downstairs and read magazines. I also like the foreign language education C.Ds selection. Upstairs there are rooms to host community events and special interests. Open on Sunday. Good hours.
