They said everything is good. Follow up ultrasound Oct 9, 2025 at EFW Radiology and I was told there is no heartbeat. EFW & my family doctor both confirmed that the ultrasound done at Canada Diagnostic Savanna misreported 137bpm when there was NO HEARTBEAT AT THAT TIME! NO CARDIO ACTIVITY. There is an elevator, although it takes forever which is weird given the lack of height of the building. There are very large, clear signs guiding you in the only direction down the hall you can really go. I had an early afternoon appointment. I walked in and there was no one waiting. The lady at the desk took my info quickly. She was pleasant although not overly friendly. I sat down and waited no more than 10 minutes (and I had been early). The ultrasound technician was very friendly and professional. She did her thing, always explaining what she was doing and where she'd be touching so there would be no surprises. It really put me at ease. The whole appointment took less than half an hour (including a short wait for results to take back to the hospital). If I need services like these again, this location is a top choice compared to some others. There is also a lot of parking which is handy!

Yes, this is controversial for some…read more I support universal health care, but don't quite understand why it should come at a universal low standard. My dentist calls me every 4 months for a cleaning or checkup. When was the last time I had a blood test.?... 10 years! I know many have adequate medical care through established family practices via standard health care, but some don't. I did not. I think I knew something was not right and when I couldn't arrange a standard medical exam through my MD (after 1 year of trying and two misconnects) then I signed up for Copeman. After the intake questions and battery of exams and tests, it was found that essentially everything was off the charts. I was actually in pretty bad shape. Fortunately things were found early enough, I received some expert advice, and was able to get some lifestyle choices turned around before it was too late. The actual facility is centrally located, has easy off-street parking with nice (modern and clean!) offices and waiting room. There are nutritionists, physiotherapists, exercise kinesiologists, nurses, lab staff and counsellors available, but most importantly, physicians who actually take their hand off of the door handle when they talk to you. For lab tests, samples are all taken on site. This is the way health care should be. It is not luxurious, unless you compare it to the standard squalid waiting rooms at physicians' offices, usually located in dilapidated medical buildings with antique furnishings and equipment from the 60s. How we have come to accept the current state as acceptable is bewildering to me. While I feel a twinge of liberal guilt about the whole thing, this is a complicated issue with no easy answers. I was not willing to die waiting for politicians and government to figure it out. At $4K/ first year and $2.5K/year following (there are also family plans), it is certainly not for everyone. I am a supporter, and while this kind of service is not the answer to our current delivery problems, it just might be part of the solution.

I do have some lingering symptoms and continue to isolate. Today. A doctor ordered a stat chest X-ray for me to rule out pneumonia. The requisition was sent to CDC Okotoks. They called me - asked the appropriate screening questions and asked me to come in for the scan. Upon arrival they informed me that they would not do the X-ray as their company policy is that it must be at least 14 days since the positive Covid Test. They refused service to a senior who requires a stat X-ray to rule out pneumonia. While they apologized, they stated there is "so much misinformation out there". There isn't - in this case what I experienced is: a). Misalignment between CDCs company policy and the directives of AHS and the Chief Public Health Officer. b). Poor screening before they accepted the requisition and called me to book the appointment. And its conceivable that I experienced a lack of compassion and a service ethic. It was also clear that there was a difference of opinion amongst their staff as I overheard "we should do it - its for pneumonia. We can put on PPE". Regardless, I will ensure that I use the services of a more customer focused organization in the future - and recommend others look elsewhere too. Lack of clear company policy, company policies that are out of alignment with Health Orders and a staff that while apologetic - were clearly more interested in getting me out of there than getting me the treatment I required. This doesn't resonate as high-touch, high-service nor compassionate. Unacceptable to me for a firm that is part of the medical care value chain to act as they did today.

I prepared myself to wait, but I was called after maybe 5 minutes. From the moment I opened the door until I left, I was greeted with a smile. All the employees I came in contact with were extremely kind and accommodating. I must especially mention Jiselle - Assistant Clinic Manager and thank her for her help with a home pick up. Since I was done so quickly, I should have waited more than an hour and a half, but Jiselle called Access Calgary and arranged an earlier pickup.
