Definitely won't be a long review bc I've written for Cams before. I 1000% still love Cams, will always love Cams. My family and I have been going to Cams since 1988! And we will continue to go until there aren't any of us left haha! Or as long as Cams is still around. We get their pizza and as someone who rarely eats pizza (I only do when I come here to NY for a visit with the family) we will order 2 mediums, thick crust. I can easily eat 5 or 6 slices. Sure I may be full AF for like 2 or 3 days, but it's so worth it haha! Cams is definitely a little pricey these days, but it's Cam's. Amazing food. Classic NY pizza and then some. I loved the aesthetic of this pizzeria! Reminded me of NYC hole-in-the-wall pizza shops which added greatly to my eating experience! I shared 3 slices with a friend and the worker at the counter gladly cut our slices in half! We had the pepperoni mushroom slice, the cheese slice, and the white garlic slice! The thing I loved the most about the pizza here was there thin crispy crust. It had a crunch and it was the most thin slice I've had upstate NY by far. Recently ordered a large pizza. We asked for well done and crispy, but it wasn't cooked properly, very soggy. There was also very little cheese. I could see tons of spots where the sauce poked through because they didn't put enough cheese on to cover the pizza. They were skimpy on the other toppings we ordered as well. read more

Ordered delivery on a Tuesday night and was told an hour to an hour and 15. I called at the end of the timeframe to ask for an update and they sent the driver out (we were only 3 minutes away). Well Cams by far is the best pizza I have had since living in NY. It is perfect. My favorite is the large combo with extra cheese and ranch (theirs is the best ever) and wings (my husband loves them). It is absolutely perfect. If I need something on the fly I prefer a small pizza over the slices. Since the food is amazing it is a popular spot and pretty typical to wait 25-30 minutes for a large pizza and wings for carry out. So plan properly. The food is really good; it is a normal small town pizza joint. I never have any problems ordering from here food-wise. The pizza is always good and they don't cheat you with their wings. From a flavor perspective, Cams in Geneva is top notch. It's everything else that has knocked them down to a 3 star rating. Where they lose two stars for me is that when you call and order, they always seem to be out of whatever you're looking for. The last time I ordered, I picked three appetizers before picking something actually in stock. I'm not sure if they sell out or if they don't update their menu but from an ordering standpoint, that is frustrating. It's also inconvenient that they seem to be the online Cams that doesn't have online ordering yet. While they are far the only restaurant without digital ordering (though that list is shrinking in 2023..), I have lived in areas that also have cams and you can always order online so you don't need to give your card over the phone. This also becomes challenging with their refunds: they "can't" give them. When we last ordered they forgot a portion of our order and couldn't refund it. They could only add it as a credit if we choose to eat there again. In a world and industry driven by ease of customer service, there seems to be a big breakdown in technology at this location. But please do know if you do get your food, it will be delicious, I will maintain the quality of food here is worth it. read more

Good pizza compared to other places in town. This is my 3rd time at this pizza place. The perks are that they have many different flavors and they're open up late if you need some food after a night of drinking, lol. This visit I had white pizza and meatball and banana peppers. I also got a salad. The slices were a little dry but still good. Both had good flavor. The salad was simple but a good side dish to the pizza. One of the many guys working in the back making pizzas asked our name again and suddenly found our pizza on top of the ovens. That was after sitting and waiting almost an hour!!! The crust was not crispy & yes it was cut into squares but we had to use our pizza cutter at home because it wasn't cut properly. The dough was very doughy and NOT crispy. Summary: While I haven't ordered any full pizzas from Cams yet, I have gone in on numerous occasions to get slices. While the everyday slice variety could be better (Cheese, Pepperoni, Mushroom), they do have Daily Special Slices and my guess would be that they'd throw peppers or other veggies on a cheese piece for you. The pieces I've had seemed fresh enough, although admittedly it'd be a bit hard to tell since they put them in an oven to crisp the crust and warm them up. Price: The slices are a couple bucks and are pretty large. Two is always enough to fill me up. Taste: Pretty standard pizza, and while it's not bland, it's not going to win any awards. It's a standard, thin-ish crust, light sauce pizza with a crispy crust. The specialty pieces I've had include Chicken Bacon Ranch and Cheeseburger, and both were good enough that I'd get again. Atmosphere: The sit-down experience is decent, but sometimes it feels a little cramped. The floorplan, being a storefront in a historic district, isn't as spacious as you'd like it to be. Occasionally the tables are a little dirty, but nothing horrendous. Come at a slightly random time between meals though and none of this is a problem. The staff is always nice. Overall: I live close and can walk, so perhaps I'm biased, but I really like Cams. I'd lean more towards the high end of a 4 if I hadn't been to the Cams in Irondequoit, which has 8 or so varieties every day for slices, including Buffalo Chicken. But if you are expecting to get that thin, floppy, soft crust that is the hallmark of New York City, think again. Not that the pizza is bad, mind you, it actually was quite delicious. But this crust is very fat and bready, with a lot of butter flavour. Not quite like the citified version. 23 toppings are offered along with other menu options, like subs, pasta and salad. I placed a take out order for a single large cheese pizza because I feel that is always the best way to test a pizza joints basic skill level. Admittedly, pizza is a subjective topic... heck, even my wife and I disagree on what is good pizza. But when I see pizza advertised as New York style thin crust, I have a certain expectation. I would of have given 1 star for how the service has been the past year, but their pizza is my favorite pizza to eat. About a year ago i had an issue with them not making garlic pizza. But this last issue has me never wanting to spend another dollar in this establishment ever again. I grab a slice usually every week, per my usual I stepped in to grab a slice that I was yearning for. A guy taking my order which I didnt recognize says oh "we have a 5 dollar minimum for cards". I explained I never had this issue ever before. He says lemme see what I can do, he goes and grabs someone else. This guy comes over and says, yeah we can't do that for you. This just amazes me that they made such a big deal about this. I understand why they implemented this, but the way they should of dealt with this is they should have said, we can do this for you this one time but have to have a 5 dollar minimum in the future. Cams has the best pizza in Geneva by far. That's not really saying much since there aren't very many pizza places... but still. I LOVE Cams slices because they are super thin and definitely New York style. They use high quality ingredients and have lots of great toppings like my favorite, green olives! But I have to agree with what everyone else said about two things: delivery and crust thickness. The delivery is HORRIBLE... seriously, horrible. It takes forever and I've had pizza delivered cold more than once. Crust thickness... is too thick unless you order the XL size or slices. I order slices whenever possible because that is Cams at its best. A medium pizza from Cams is not worth the calories, IMO... but put an XL in front of me and I'll devour several slices. One more bad point is the price. They recently raised the prices again which is kind of unbelievable because they were already astronomically high, especially for this area. I am all for paying for quality but Cams is getting out of that realm and into the absurd. The pizza slices were on the larger size, but a little lacking on thickness and cheese/ toppings. The flavor was ok on both the mushroom slice and the white garlic slice. The bbq wings were tangy and had juicy chicken with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. The blue cheese dipping sauce complimented them well. I love the pizza. With that said, in the last few years, the toppings are getting VERY sparse on the pizza and their subs. The Cam's in Penn Yan still gives fairly generous toppings. My personal favorite place for pizza. We always stop in for a single slice. For such a small town of Geneva, there are way too many pizza places, but I think I'll stick with this place. Pizza always tastes fresh and is cooked pretty quickly. It's divey and looks kinda old but I've never felt unclean in it. If you can handle the dive scene, this will be nothing new. There are certainly better kept Cams I've seen in greater NY. I've only had pizza and salad from here. Salad is very basic - single slice pizza is the best but full pizzas are pretty tasty, too. First and foremost, THIS IS NOT NY STYLE PIZZA! That being said its was fine. The pizza was good but very doughy, more than half an inch thick. They also happen to fall into my least favorite kind of pizzeria, the "We're really just a carry out/delivery place but we got a few tables so we pretend we're a pizzeria" model. Not really their fault since they're hardly the first to do this but it still bothers me.
