Stopped in for dinner as we were walking around exploring. It was very good and the service was great. We were sat right next to the hostess stand so if we needed anything, it was easy to get their attention. The mussels were really good and it was a large portion. The mushrooms were also amazing. My friend said the burger was good as well. We sat on the patio even though it was hot out. Luckily it was a covered/shaded patio and the sun was setting but still a little toasty when we sat down. This was one of the only restaurants that served dinner early. We wanted to try them out since the food looked good. The staff here are friendly but the food is average. This restaurant is at old Nice town near the beach. The restaurant is an Italian restaurant serve different seafood. They have the outside seating with retractable roof. It is at a very busy shopping street. We start with assorted salad with anchovies, stuffed eggplant, bread spread, pita. This dish allows us to sampling all different food. Our entrees are is the shrimp salad and the Mediterranean sea bass. This two dish is just ok. Services medium attentive. Not too slow but is not fast either. If you're traveling to Nice this place is one you won't want to miss. The food and services is top notch. My seafood spaghetti is my favorite meal that I've had. My husband highly recommends the lasagna. Come with an appetite as the portions are plentiful. read more

Very welcoming. Campania and Marco and the other at the front desk were eager to please. It's in a great location. The room was on the small side but very manageable. The housekeepers were delightful and hard working. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The prices are also a big value for the money. read more

While there are many selections in the restaurant area, we enjoyed the service and food enough to stop by twice during our nine day holiday in Nice. During our experiences we had pastas, pizza, salads and desserts. There is a great deal of foot track and people watching options are from either direction. The menu has so many options, ask for recommendations. I do recommend this location at least for lunch or dinner. Enjoy! read more

I agree with the previous (French) reviewer that the plates are good looking and good to eat as well... I really cannot count how many times on our honeymoon after having eaten here I asked my husband, "can we go back to Nice now?" - of course each time he said, "yes of course if you want to!" - See why I married him? This is, as previously noted, on a street just a block in from the Mediterranean which is covered with (almost) literally a hundred restaurants. The restaurants display their food out front for all to see - fresh sea urchins shimmer with their black needles, lobsters and prawns glisten on silver platters... it was a tough one. I wanted mussels (Hello - we were on the sea!) but thank goodness my hubby wanted a pizza, so I was tasked with finding a place that looked good and served both. At first I was hesitant as Campo di Fiori was empty - at least the tent in the area of tents that line the middle of the street between the long lines of restaurants that belonged to Campo was empty - but as the sunset brought on a chill, their fire heat-lamps looked enticing, and so the menu and the warmth brought us in. (Despite the fact their menu offers everything from sushi to pizza to burgers...) Our pizza was ham and cheese and mushrooms and OMG delicious! All the flavors together were divine, we were in food-heaven! Theron then made me sample each taste individually. Yes, it was that good - we dissected our pizza to taste how artfully it was crafted. You would think a restaurant with long hours and a huge menu would not care so much about how good their pizza is.... but we two foodie tourists were blown away, wondering if indeed pizza will be forever ruined for us. I have never had pizza this good. And before you question if I was merely starving - We'd had both breakfast, a snack, and an amazing lunch as well (on the TGV no less). (We may have ordered the pizza diavola but I really dont recall) Then came my mussels. They were also exquisitely done in a semi-spicy marinara broth with tomatoes and tons of herbs. Great food and wine may not be the meaning of life, but eating here, you will forget that. Our wine was a Bardol from the same region (near Marsailles) and was unlike anything I'd previously tasted in France. We loved it's complexity and spicy finish. Upon ordering another bottle, our waiter brought us his favorite of the same variety. Awesome! Our waiter was charming and friendly as well, which I think is not so common. Nice does Italian food better than Italians.* Thank God. We have to return for that pizza. PS: By the time we left, the place was packed. People eat quite late in Nice like the rest of France. * That said: I have not yet been to Naples. read more

This was the worst food I've had in a while. The mussels in white wine "sauce" were basically just mussels in wine. The taste of alcohol was still there, making everything really bitter and inedible. The seafood sauce was drenched in an extremely sweet sauce that made it taste like candy. I was in shock of how they are even able to serve this. Clearly a tourist trap. read more

I found hair in my food right when I began to eat it and the response of the management was they DID NOT CARE!!! They argued that the hair came form the seafood itself and proceeded to say that I had never tried seafood in my life to know. What an awful establishment and even worse service. Stay away, you clearly have many other options. Disgusting!!!! read more

The food is good but the service and the timing is horrible. I had to ask for plates, and my food twice. After over an hour plus waiting, the food doesn't taste so amazing that it's worth the long wait. I would rate the food a 4, and I would rate the service a 1 Star. The food here was pretty good, however will not be visiting here again, not because of the food, but because of the experience. The location of Campo di Fiori, is beautiful, although DO NOT get distracted and always watch your bags at all times, or strap it on your body. Yesterday, while having a lovely evening with my family, my designer bag got stolen, while we were eating. We suspect that it was stolen when a group of street dancers preformed that evening right outside of the restaurant. Me and my family were all eyes on the performance as the show was amazing, they were flipping and jumping over a rope caught on fire, but right after the performance my bag was missing, and the street dancers left immediately when realizing we had lost it. It could have been set up to grab our attention then take your bags, or someone could have took your bag while you were turned around. But me and my family are pretty sure it was those dancers, because, as filing the police report the police new exactly who we were talking about, It seemed as though the dancers a were infamous. But again nice place to dine, but, BE WARNED do not take any personal items, such as money, keys, or even passports, as it is a tourist trap, and it is very likely that it will be stolen. And if you do take a nice bag put it between your legs or strapped on you shoulder/back. Same goes for any restaurants around that spot, as they use the entire road. But the waiter was very helpful and called the cops for us while we were dealing with shutting of anything in the bag such as credit cards and my phone. read more

Bad experience. The food was not very good but the actions of the male waiter made the night traumatic for my girlfriend. He approached her on her way to the bathroom and made suggestive comments and then later approached her again in the common area where the sinks are situated. These are the kinds of experiences women often have to deal with and it was completely inappropriate and quite scary for her. Campo di Fiori had great food but our experience in general was horrible and ruined our night!What happened was we were sitting down in the middle of restaurants patio with our back packs on our seats facing the restaurant. This dance group (who were very talented) wearing Brazilian flags came and started dancing we were not close to them but our attention was on them we had our bags during the show but at the end the bag was gone. As stated earlier we where in an aisle and not facing the street. No one around us had seen anyone besides the waiters enter the aisle. The waiter was not sincere and said we needed to get a hold of the police. We noticed there were some security cameras along the restaurant so we asked a waiter if we could see them but he said they didn't work and told us Romanians probably stole our stuff. We had lost our appetite and ate the food which was decent. At the end of the day it's most likely that a waiter or the dancers took advantage of us and took our bags. If you go to this restaurant watch always be aware of where your bags are at all times especially if there is a street show! read more

The waiter kept making suggestive (sexual) proposals to her and then followed her into the women's bathroom and opened the stall door on her (as she was using the toilet!) I give this restaurant a two only because the food was good. The portions were incredibly large and I felt wasteful but, looking around, that appeared to be the norm at this restaurant. The service, however, was terrible! Having been in France for a week now, we've eaten at many types and locations of restaurants, this was the absolute worst! The waiter never returned to our table after taking our order except to give us our drinks 7 minutes later. It was very hot outside and we tried to, unsuccessfully, flag him down to order water in addition to our already empty drink glasses. Again, the food was good but outweighed by the service. The server actually laughed at my husband when he did not know how to 'properly' ask for the check. This did not sit well as west waiting for 31 minutes just to get the check then another 10 minutes until he returned to process our card. The owner actually cleaned the streets in front of us and looked twice at our empty glasses and did not offer or ask if we needed a drink. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone without a minimum of an hour just to eat lunch as I spent 74 minutes waiting and 10 minutes eating. I'm not picky at all it when I know the server is getting 17%, I expect better at least minimal service. Maybe that is just the arrogant American in me. read more

Large portions of poor quality food. Their menu was Huge with everything from sushi, Thai, French and mostly Italian. This should have been our warning sign. Every table including ours around us had some kind of issue with the food quality, waiting for food or the bill. Seafood was not fresh and everything was well over salted. Service was real slow. 3 hrs to eat. Stay away, Nice has much better out there, although per Rick Steve's resort towns you need to lower your standards a lot. Meal cost us 90 euro for two with 1/2 pot of house wine, two starters, two entrees with no desert. Poorly managed restaurant and waiters servicing way too many tables. read more
